This snippet turned out to be nothing else than the extracted *front channel* of the official *Dolby Atmos Mix* from the "Voyage" album from Apple Music. Creating this video, I actually had the Dolby Atmos Mix in mind and did compare all available channels from the Dolby Atmos Mix - front, rear, centre. However, my front mix of "Don't Shut Me Down" happened to have been the only track that mistakenly simply was the standard stereo down-mix of the Dolby Atmos mix, so to me, the Instagram snippet seemed genuine and different. Going back now to the original Dolby Atmos "multitracks", and listening to the correct front channel, we can conclude and determine: the Instagram snippet was simply a snippet of the Dolby Atmos front channel, 100%. I hope they would release an entire album with their alternative versions if an ABBA Antology is on the works. Thank you for another very fascinating video. I remember that sometime in the 2010s, there were many alternate mixes of ABBA songs that leaked on YT. They had vocals very forward in the mixes, sometimes with verses that were not in the released versions. It was speculated on-line that these were special demo mixes of the songs used in the original stage production of "Mamma Mia" that were created and given to cast members of the show to learn the songs. Somehow, (as speculated on-line) a cast member had shared those mixes with an ABBA fan and the rest is history. I am guessing something similar happened here.
Abba songs might seem simple but were greatly complicated. I read somewhere that when Benny/Bjorn did MM they had to run back the original masters so to deconstruct some songs in order to recall how they had originally created them and what they had put in there!

So it might have been someone not very familiar with logos and keeping to the official mixes. It's interesting that they recently used a video of Tropical Loveland where they used very grainy video. If you find that video you'll hear what could be an extended intro to Tropical Loveland.
There's a CD for Australia (maybe from 1998 remastering) of ABBA album from 1975, that have some rare extended versions like Tropical Loveland, Man In The Middle, I've Been Waiting For You and Rock Me, some of these versions running through YT.

@@abbantologiabbavoyage I did hear about a cassette version of the ABBA album that has an "extended" version" of "I've Been Waiting For You" but it was only edited together from the original track by the record company to make the running time of each side of the cassette the same length. The tracklist of the cassette was also drastically rearranged for that purpose. Then there is also a Japanese CD of the ABBA album that has an alternate mix of "Man In The Middle". I have a live version of SOS and it says that Frida sang the 2nd break it sounded perfect and the same as Agnetha ? Spedaking of SOS my friend last night I saw "ABBA the CONCERT ATC" tribute band the place went insane they sound so great my God this girl has been playing Agnetha for 20 years and what a talent she is an accomplished pianist too and put out a really re harmonized version of Dancing Queen . Brilliant . Anyway they were great but they didnt play SOS !!!!! ahhh my fav ABBA song ! They did one of us perfect and all the other hits . You can find them here on youtube they have all the outfits AND the original bass player from ABBA was playing bass for them ! He had a big introduction and little solo piece it was a great night !

Yes i do remember that statement by Benny in 2018 about the incompletion of the 2 songs.About the instagram alternate mix...Personally i give it a 60 percent possibility being a fault that accidentally happened and that's why it dissapeared and the other 40 percent being intentional.I don't have an insta and i'm sad i missed this.And what about the 2 opposite sided Bs in the ABBA logo?!I'm really confused here.Just keep in mind that there are also a few word/spelling mistakes even in the VOYAGE lyric videos...
Maybe if the track/file was named "Don't Shut Me Down (Voyage version)", whoever picked the file for Instagram thought that meant the album and not the show.

The version posted on Instagram is the front channels of the Atmos mix. There are two videos posted in FB groups today from the Atmos mix that sound identical to the Instagram version.
I heard it and to me it sounded like the Dolby Atmos mix with some channels turned off -a while ago someone "grabbed" the individual channels from the Atmos mix on Apple Music and they are doing the rounds on the internet.
I was also thinking it could be the basic track used for the concert. Could also be a rough mix from which the other orchestrations in the arrangement would be based.
Great ep., as always. I found the alternative take fascinating. One rumour on the forums is that it's actually just something you can pull out from the Dolby Atmos of DSMD (e.g. Willie Muller on ABBAtalk points this out).
They often mixed Frida to the front of the choruses even if Agnetha was the singer on the verses. Agnetha was a better dramatic interpreter as a solo singer. A natural actress. Frida was a better pitch-perfect singer that gave ABBA their “atmosphere” and foundation in layered tracks. Gimme Gimme Gimme is a good example of this.
OMG I must somehow hear the Full 5min version of Hole in Your Soul!! Hole has been my all time favourite ABBA song since first playing ABBA The Album on Aussie release day (poor Name of the Game had a very short Favourite ABBA song shelf-life for me!!!) and Hole was never surpassed (almost by As Good As New when I was obsessed for weeks on end, but no - New comes a close 2nd) 💛💙💙💛

ABBA made very good music, but also had the know-how to sell it, certainly not unimportant! One of those things is certain, thanks to Björn Ulvaeus, very intelligent, a businessman and super ambitious, even at the age of 78 he is still going to take a road with ambition to bring ABBA closer to the youth, and this with full pleasure, Top guy ! We know that Benny usually does the music and Björn writes the lyrics. Well now Björn, who is super ambitious, can make all facets of music, which sometimes take weeks and months to complete before a hit is born, completely blown away, thanks to Artificial Intelligence (AI), when he becomes the Dancing Queen, Summer Night City, Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! puts in the computer, asks for an ABBA version, a new ABBA song comes"out the can". Same with Chiquitita, Fernando, S.O.S. before other guys do that and walk with cheese from between the bread away. This way they save a lot of time, and so ABBA can release a new album every year?

I would love listen all this rare alternative versions some day. Maybe some unreleased songs from voyage recordings sessions.

Frida is up-front in the entire Voyage album, due to the sound engineer not having the skill of Mike Tretow in mixing their voices properly.
