Deuel's the best barbox 8 ball player I think I've ever seen. He def solves problem racks better than most, and has the cleanest patterns.
Deuel is the 8 ball GOAT.

Some brilliant commentating around the 4:55 mark. George: "His next shot will either be the 11-ball or the 12". Excellent deduction George. By the way, those are the only two balls left on the table besides the 8.
George: "He's gonna shoot the 12 then the 9 then the 13 and then the 14 and then..oh wait that's not what he's doing at all. Ok the only way this shot is gonna work is if follows it...oh wait he drew it and it worked perfectly."
The one announcer is a little too proud of himself. Any time he calls out a shot ahead of time he always follows with a: “ See, told you.” Or “See, there you go.”
Rack 10 was even better. They brainstormed 12 different ways to shoot solids, and sky speared in the stripe lmao
God yeah, it's the most annoying part of watching pool. The commentators seriously needs to stop their shit with calling the shots. Commentate the game like any other sport commentators does.

The camera cuts/editing on the break is horrendous. I'm at loss trying to understand what purpose they serve. Only thing I can come up with is that the players complained and asked that CSI stop giving away their break techniques.
Totally agree, even the announcers are like, "And we have the perfect angle to watch this shot.." then the camera switches to a shitty close-up of the shooters face and we lose visibility of the entire table.
I think they got some new fancy cameras and wanted to do some closeups. Guys, nobody wants to see a close-up of the shooters bridge-hand, or their face. Just show us the table, stick with the overhead or the back/corner angles and everyone is happy.

These guys are so good they can play with anything. It doesn’t matter what cue they use.

I agree completely. Diarrhea of the mouth throughout most of the match. They're annoying as hell always trying to out clever each other.
@@MikeyD22 I COULD NOT WATCH THE ENTIRE MATCH DUE TO THE COMMENTATORS CONTINUING TO BELABOR THE OBVIOUS JUST TO HEAR THEMSELVES TALK. THEN, WHEN THERE WERE OPTIONS, GET IT WRONG AND IMPLY THIER WAY WAS CORRECT. THE ENTIRE MATCH DOES NOT NEED TO BE FILLED WITH COMMENTARY.

Sky on rack 6 play safe with the 7 ball. Just barely tap it with low inside and the q ball comes back into the 7.
The commentators not knowing stripes was the go to in rack 10 was freaking hilarious. That was so obvious, a 480 fargo wouldve broke and ran that rack

Shane, I didn't say they were great. But believe me these Tools as you put it are better than some. Listen to Kenny Shuman once and you will see what I mean.

At slow speed he has WELL over half a pocket @ 10:16. You can hit rail close to the pocket from that angle at pocket speed and sink the ball, a bit more so with some induced right english. All that given that he can get the rock where he needs to get it..but even at normal speed there is well over a half pocket target into that pocket. I'm assuming you meant half pocket, CLEAN. And then he shoots it DIRECT virtually center pocket...you guys were funny then. ;-) I understand you can't see angles and clearances if you're not directly over/along them, so I'm just kidding you here, mostly, but the back pedaling was funny..
I don't get it, it sure looked like that cue rebounded into the tip @ 34:06, even running at 1/4 speed...it looked like the cue ball was virtually STOPPED buy the return contact. Obviously, no roll would be imparted yet, so maybe it WAS all stun, but ... I don't have a clue what I'm doing, but I tend to hit that shot WAY high on the cue so the tip almost miscues, but skips off the top of the ball, and guarantees no foul.
That shot is dicey ANY way you play it...not even the back hand stop into the table shot (ouch) works there. Personally, the other thing I might try is a Massey shot that involves holding the cue with the back hand in the dart position, using a really quick very small travel wrist flick. It sounds stupid, but it works REALLY well. He demos it on a YT vid, and he can also impart severe cue control even when the balls are virtually touching, drawing it a full table if he wants...but then, he's MASSEY, so there's that. Definitely takes some practice, but it is really effective the five times you will use it in your life. Stick gets in and out VERY quickly, and you can VERY precisely control the end point of the stroke...ie. an 1/8' into the cue ball, if you want. ;-)
36:10 Corey is SO freaking smart the way he creates the path to the breakout here. I would have NEVER done it that way...I'm taking NOTES! Problem is, even with the knowledge, I don't remotely have the execution required to do this time after time, like he does. These guys are ALL so damned good. I was watching Justin in the local hall playing some one pocket and he made what I thought was a fairly difficult run out. He came back to sit and I was right behind him on the rail, and said "Man, tough crowd, they seem to just expect you to do that...I thought it was a pretty good run out". He just smiled and went back to doing something on his phone. Different level...TOTALLY different level than mere mortals and wanna be's, like me.
You can't play much better then Corey did there. Beautifully executed match. Tough to be Skyler there, but he'll have his time(s).

why do they use a rack that takes so long to line up and freeze the balls. I hate those rubber racks. I guess it's trendy so they use it.
I love the magic rack, I have one for 8,9,and 10 ball. All the balls are touching each other. Very important for a good break. Just an opinion. To each his own. The old triangles were a lot harder to achieve the same results.
Good for the player, tedious and boring for the spectator.
Advice....MUTE right away to make this watchable....

Because he wins a lot using it. And, he gets a ball or two down almost every time. Clusters are not a major problem for a player of his caliber.
@@MikeyD22 wins a lot of what? When was the last time you saw Corey duel win a major championship? Creating clusters and hoping to be able to break them out later on is a horrible strategy
@@alonzo123abc He's won a lot of "tournaments" with the 2nd ball break including the US Bar Table Championship, Wyoming Open, Chinook Winds Open. A lot of great pros played in those tournaments. And I didn't say major tournaments although he did win the US Open beating Immonen 11-0. If you've watched as much pool as I have, you'll have heard many many times that Corey is considered to be sort of a genius when it comes to break shots and orchestrating run outs from seemingly impossible layouts. And no creating clusters is not a horrible strategy when you're good player. It's especially effective when you're playing an inferior player who isn't adapt at breaking them up. I'm the number one player in two different leagues and moved up to that level when I started hitting the 2nd ball which in turn, often creates some clusters.
@@MikeyD22 And I don't know what the rules were regarding making the 8-ball on the break, but hitting the second ball results in more action on the 8-ball, and possibly adds to the possibility of making it on the break. In fact, I remember an event in 1995 where Johnny Archer was playing someone in the semi-finals of an 8-ball event, the name of whom I've forgotten, and his opponent twice made the 8-ball on the break using that style of break, making 5 balls on one of those two breaks on which he made the 8.

ON THE TOPIC OF SHOULD SLOP BE ALLOWED ? Well lets see what do you gain and what do you lose. The advocates say it adds excitement to the game.. such a statement reminds me of when ignorant people clap when they see a ball slop in, granted theirs shots that werent actually slopped in, but appeared to have been, and the ones that were slopped in sometimes to the unknowing eye appeared to be intentional, but the skilled player and the knowledgeable watcher USUALLY can tell the differance, as far as the added excitement, personally i never get excited over shit in balls..at least not since i had 1 month experiance in game...say when i was 13 yrs old. NOW imagine the players are hill hill for state, city, or smaller championship... one player shits in 3 ball then proceeds to run out the easy remaining rack..whereas without the shit the opponent would have run the easy rack..what we gained in some eyes ( the ignorant few) was a bit of excitement. What the opponent lost was his bid for title, that he may have practiced for twice as hard, and been twice as skilled as the lucky ass. What the spectators lost was the answer to the question who is the states, citys, etc. champion, simply put absolutely no one knows..they can guess at best...I say the dubious excitement to the knowing is to high a price to pay....Now thats just one shit shot that could have caused this travesty of justice..in reality ive seen numerous shit shots in a few minutes, like we all have, and thats just for state, or whatever title...how much more terrible for world title, And for the idiot that says its an even chance for both players to slop balls in, i say such an ignorant person is not from this planet, because everyone knows some people are luckier than others on any given day, For the retard that says well it wouldnt be 9 ball without slop, many many games and sports progress thru rule changes to better the event. I say, dont change the rule on any game unless it could change the outcome in an unfair way. (obviously this could). say costing player or team the most important thing they have trained for for years and years...Or lets forget players/teams of countries and there hard work and let the few ignorant get some false excitement. (how stupid is that), Now we all realize ever since we were in 1st grade theres going to be some crybabies who will lay on the floor, kicking their feet, wailing etc. If the more skilled, trained or superior individual has the advantage every time, due to skill. so the unskilled crybaby will lobby the teacher or parent or principle or tournament director to allow in a measure of luck. than the namby pamby person of position, teacher, parent, principle, tournament director... will say..yeh lets make it more even, so lets allow luck, that way its not same winner every time. As if thats more important than rewarding the most deserving, i love pool but this one point im so tired of debating, with idiots for the last twenty years..im ready to stop watching pool and instead just watch two unskilled morons flip a coin over and over to see who,s the best at flipping....how exciting.
10-4 the apa players have no idea how much it ruins pool in an area where rails, kisses, combos, banks had to be called on all games and last pocket 8 ball was the norm
Who's advocating for slop shots in 8 ball? There's one league that permits that and it's strictly for the benefit of weaker players, who tend to find unintended pockets more often. The whole league is designed to boost weaker players and put the brakes on stronger players (it's why you take what you make on the break, which reduces break and runs). But beyond one league nobody is advocating it as a norm in 8 ball.
It is so painful to listen to these commentators. They are both pretty bad but WOW. That George is lost, how did he get that job??

corey is manipulating the rack, in my opinion cheating, by having the rack slightly shifted counter clockwise if he breaks from the left so the opposite corner ball goes in the other pocket.

Lots of pros manipulate the rack or "cheat" as you say. But that is not the advantage Corey has here, even when we breaks his racks or tied up and tough outs and he shoots amazing shots to get amazing outs.
Michael Wade corey is a great player one of my favorites. but if pt manipulates the rack in a way where he is guaranteed to stay at the table then to me that is cheating

That magic rack thing is so stupid. The guy moves balls in order to remove it. Even if he puts them back in about the same place, it seems wrong to move a ball. And it takes forever to set up.

Sumit Adhikari agree.. I played him yesterday in qschool (snooker) here in the uk, i was 2-0 up and he completely slowed the game down, smart tactic in a way, although very irritating, you lose all your rhythm completely
