Its pretty easy to summon it with all the support cards

Great episode! Definitely keep the cards to the same era; nostalgia is a huge factor - for me, at least - when watching some of these. Besides, restrictions in deck building drive creativity!
I prefer the use of cards that are the same era as the boss monsters. These duels are sick!
I think it would be cool to use the Camula vampire deck from Yugioh Gx vs the Amazon shadow rider from the same season
seeing some diversity in the decks between all generations would be pretty cool, a good example i have would be how mai valentine uses harpie ladys, but later on when yugioh introduced syncro monsters, such as cyber slash harpie lady, and other archtype introduced cards, that follows past character decks.
I think it could be fun to see a Fallen of Albaz & Albion the Sanctifire/Incandescent Dragon deck go up against an optimized version of a Blue-Eyes or Red-Eyes deck, as though Kaiba or Joey at their peak had come across a powerful Albaz player, I think it could be interesting to see if either a "peak" Kaiba or Joey would have been able to get past an Albaz deck that is pretty much designed to counter other Dragon-centric decks.
....Or, alternatively, a Fallen of Albaz/Albion the Sanctifire/Incandescent Dragon deck vs an Aluber the Jester of Despia/Masquerade the Blazing Dragon deck (where both decks would technically have two "boss" monsters, with both Albaz & Albion being the boss monsters for the Albaz deck and Aluber & Masquerade being the boss monsters for the Aluber deck). Especially since lore-wise, Aluber is pretty much the archnemesis of Albaz (complete with him once kidnapping and brainwashing Albaz's "love interest" Ecclesia into becoming the evil Cartesia....albeit temporarily....and Ecclesia is pretty much the "canon" partner to fuse with Albaz to bring out Albion the Sanctifire/Incandescent Dragon as it requires Albaz & a Light attribute Spellcaster)
I think both decks should be from the era of the most advanced boss monster. So you both play with the same pool of cards, but it is not something supernew. Also, as an idea, Divine Serpent Geh vs Timaeus Knight of Destiny

I would actually like to see it both ways. One match limited to the era of origin, then one match with access to any and all later support.

It would be nice to see both. Seeing both the older and newer era of the cards have each have their own charm. Plus it’s a constantly renewing stream of play.
What would you have done if the last monster was a tortoise and Jen reduced her own life points to zero by attacking with a non-boss monster? Like, does Susu also lose because he didn't use his boss monster? Have we stumbled into a loophole?
I assume that counts as a draw and they would have played another game.
Have y'all done the Waifu or Cutesie Boss Battles category yet? Like Dragon Maid vs Sky Striker. Or Fluffal vs Madolche. Though might be hard to pick who their boss(es) would be.

I absolutely love these head to head battles because they showcase two very important things that modern decks lack…Interaction with little to no trash negation effects and back and forth between duelists!True Yugioh dueling at its best!

I think a fun compromise to the debacle of keeping it in the same era as the boss monster is from is this: If the Boss Monster is a specific Archetypal card, you are allowed to use modern support for that card. Like Stardust getting the new Stardust Synchro/Tuner. But NOT allowed to use other modern cards like Imperm, Ash Blossom or Borrel Sword as examples.
For character decks, I think the same should apply: If the character uses a specific archetype or card that has gotten modern support(conductor tyranos or red-eyes for examples) than they can use it. But not other modern non-archetypal cards. So no modern generic dinos or red-eyes.
But if the question is strictly between whether to use modern cards or ONLY same-era cards, I think that I would rather see duels using same era cards. It makes things more fun and interesting so Duels don't instantaneously spam out massive boards turn 1 or end in less than 10. I like the older era of YuGiOh myself.
I honestly like when you play with cards from the era of the boss monster. Makes the duel more competitive

GREN MAJU VS KING OF SKULL SERVANTS! I think a purely banish-based deck vs a purely graveyard based deck, both centered around making one HUGE boss monster and having the same rules where you must WIN WITH your boss monster would be super fun!
Flying fortress sky fire would be a pretty boss monster to summon not sure who the opposing boss monster would be .
Personally I wouldn't mind seeing you both make an open deck. Any card from any era. No card banned. That would be pretty cool.
Stay in the same era, feels like it's best for boss battles and makes them more exciting
Honesty, i love seeing the gods in play with their full support in the decks. Id love to see these revisited with the full force of the Ra and Slifer archtypes and support.

I’m all for both, it would factor in for the og fans and the modern support would factor in to play for today. I like seeing the engines for either one.
Regarding eras of the boss monsters, I like the idea of keeping the cards to the era of the boss monster, HOWEVER, if there’s a generation gap, I think both eras are fair game for both decks
I would love to see card from ANY generation to build up a battlle of Overdragons. i honestly really do want to see both people use Chimeratech Overdragon in the most biggest insane way they can

After those 3 duels I suggest you do the winners (Raviel, Ra and ???) each against their 3 Wicked counterparts the wicked dreadroot, avatar and whatever the Slifer version was called. The final 3 duels to determine the ultimate God variation for each of the god archtypes. I think that will be cool.

Lol it's what people used when hamon came out. It's actually was a common strat in crystal beast players cause rainbow dragon was too difficult to use at first so they needed an easy summon boss.

Personally I like playing old cards with modern support.
Really interesting making the older cards more viable.
Modern Yugioh is so much faster paced and can be more exciting.

In duel 3, before Jen summoned the sphere, susu could have summoned the amethyst cat and used its effect to attack directly
I do like the current power level of the decks but I think modern support should still be considered and could self impose balancing by restricting overpowered cards

I say try it. Just a duel or 2 with the modern cards. And if things get too too crazy then keep them in the same Era as the boss monsters. I love the idea of keeping the cards in the same Era as the boss monsters.
