Totally Awesome Top Notch Dude, That Gordon! Man Doc, You got wonderful work of Art there..... I see future projects between you two guys 4 sure! 😊❤👍🏻✌🏻
I watch this video earlier on my TV. I could not comment on the TV. So I waited to get on my PC to comment. Awesome great video and knifes. This guy does great work. Thumbs up to the guy who restored the knife. He does super great work.
That handle almost looks like mammoth ivory. It's so smooth and charactered. Amazing videos, Doc. Need more of these in person collabs with other great creators such as yourself and gordon.
He did a Great job! Several years ago I found one of those USMC Bolo Knives at a thrift store. It had a lot of surface rust on it and the sheath was missing, but the handle was good. I wanted to buy it to restore, but the store wanted $90.00 for it. I had to pass it up. Then I dropped in about a week later and they were having a 50% off sale for the entire store! The Bolo was still there, but for $45.00. I cleaned it up nicely with a product that took the rust off but left the patina and it came out GREAT. I still have it and it's a nice part of my collection. Great Video my friend and congrats on getting such a cool piece of USMC History!! : )
Great job he did, I like his sharpening technique. That wax/mineral oil would also be great for leather sheath's. That Marine corp bolo is highly sought after, becoming harder and harder to find. I've heard those Mercury camp knives are good quality knives, they also have different models with different covers and tools. Great video kevin.
Hey Doc, I have a USA made Buck Fieldmate, that I bought at Camp Pendelton, from the early to mid 1980's. I bought it some time around 1983 or 84, while I was stationed there, in the Ooorah Club. I served from Sept. 1982-1990. ×>>. While I'm on it, I come from a very long line of Veterans, going back as far as the Civil war or even farther.
Ps. I also have, in my posession, my Great Uncle Fred's hand made fighting knife, that he made from a wood rasp, while he was on ship, in transit to Europe, during WWII.
What a cool video this was! I loved watching every minute of it. Gordon is sure talented at making knives. Those handles with the copper look so awesome. I agree with you his emblem is very cool
You sharpeners need to consider breathing protection! You guys do lot, so a lot of exposure, be careful , new lungs are not available! Great job, stay safe, brothers

That knife wax would be good for firearms or anything metal, when long term storage. Respect for keeping these pieces of history in working condition.
Awesome!! Thank you! I’ll be giving some of the wax away soon!

What kind of wood does he use
That was Maple wood he use on the Machete.
That particular handle is curly maple. I use a lot of different burls, cherry, walnut, etc... if it's pretty ill use it.
