I would like to see you guys do a white car that sees salt, road patch, highway milleage that would only get washed maybe once a month but coated. I never see videos of you guys taking the tar of cars. Keep it going guys, I’ve been detailing for over 20 years and still love to learn everyday. Happyyyyy new year from Benny your Irish Russian friend from Cap-Pélé N.B Canada
We are looking for one in that condition
Great background music choice! Love it!
Thanks.
This is what I was thinking as well.
What a team!
Love the music, it had me dancing 🕺
Thank you.
Fabulous information on cleaning a filthy truck and thanks for showing the step-by-step way to prep the proper razor to remove road paint. I learn something new every time I watch you guys cleaning and or polishing a vehicle.
Awesome, thanks!
DIY Detailing has the most thoughtful detailing videos. Thanks.
Thanks for watching.
that razor blade trick was absolutely fascinating! I'm extremely impressed!
Thank you.
I had never heard the tip about cleaning the tires. How may times I have been frustrated thinking I wasn’t doing a good job - now I know. Just chalk this up to another tip from DIY!
Thank you.
Loved the music ❤
Thank you.
As an original owner of a 2012 Wrangler Rubicon that sees dirt, dust, mud, and all kinds of shit quite often. Well....here's how I have kept the paint on my off road rig looking minty fresh all these years. After a long day getting it completely fuckered I start by pressure washing off as much as I can. Then I'll foam it and pressure wash it again. Then foam again and a contact wash. Finish it up with a SiO2 drying aide. There. Done. That's it. My Orange Crush paint still looks as good as the day I bought it new in 2011. It's not hard.
Thanks for sharing.
So far so good, looking forward to the next installment.
Happy New Year to you all.
Thank you.
What a satisfying wash 🧼 I love this real life video. My car will never look 👀 like this I hope but I love how you show how to safely clean it without damaging the paint! Great video guys 👏 keep up the good work! Oh by the way I enjoyed the music 🎶 ☝️😂
Glad you liked it!!
I can’t wait for the paint correction video!
That will be coming soon, keep an eye out!
Nice job on this truck. I once got road paint on my Z28. I sprayed WD-40 on it. I let it soak a little and it came off.
Thanks for the tip
Love the music almost felt like it was telling a story about the vehicle.
Thank you.
That is a badass looking Range. Great wash process guys! Great video as well 🤙🏽
Thanks!
Ive been using diluted All Clean (15:1) in a standard trigger sprayer as a pre-treat.
Works great for me!
Excellent
Loving this walkthrough guys! Lots of really good info throughout. Thanks for all your work on spreading your knowledge! I’m also looking forward to Nicks carpet product vid when it comes out!! 👍
Awesome, thank you!
Good video - informative, comprehensive yet simple.
I will be placing a relatively large order from Imran in the new year when the DIY Detail Cotton Candy Dream Wash Mitt becomes available.
Keep doing what youre doing.
Thank you.
Awesome music
Thank you.
Great Video Yvan and Nick!
Thanks!
Just checked out your guys pricing yikes . I recently found superior products seem like a hidden gem!
Cost of purchasing and cost per use are 2 very different things.
@ you talked me into it I’m gonna pick up some rinse less to try out . Thx
I get a kick out of this video. I live on a ranch and my truck only looks like this on days that end with the letter Y. The mud can get so thick in the wheel wells and on the undercarriage that a pressure washer, with a small nozzle orifice, is the only wan to get it off. The Wet Willy’s Car Wash in town won’t let us in their tunnel wash because of the clumps of mud ranchers leave behind. I’ve never seen a Range Rover off-road so this is the first time I have seen one this dirty. Great video!
I use a soaker setting on my garden nozzle I use to water plants, the wetter the better. Then I follow that with the shower setting to rinse off the wet mud before I use a prewash soap. Water Volume makes a big difference at this stage to get the debris clear of the finish and shower setting is not hard hitting to need anything really. I don't remember if I ever have used a prewash soap soaking after the soaker rinse. I'll try it next time, spring is always a muddy time.
Thanks for the tip!
what would be the steps of doing this if you only have rinseless wash? i’m starting my car detailing business this week.
Rinsless wash only won’t help a muddy car. You need APC to remove all the mud
A pressure washer will remove most of the mud. Then you could follow up with an APC for the heavy road film and whatever else it left. Then you can start your contact wash with rinse-less. Regardless, rinse first! Rinse-less won’t touch mud by itself.
Same steps, replacing the DIY Detail Incredible Suds foam with DIY Detail Rinse Less Wash sprayed on.
@@elonsus9747they literally say not to pressure wash first
Good informative video. Enjoying the extra camera and angles. Music seems a bit all over the place on this one with the different themes. I think the sound would be better with the music playing mild in the background and more mics picking up the process of the wash.
Thank you.
I got your PSD towel (along with some Rinseless, legacy sponge and Interior Ceramic) for Christmas. I already have another brand's iron remover. I know that it contains surfactants so should provide a bit of lubrication, especially when there's already Rinseless on the surface. But how do I check that it won't damage the PSD towel? I know you guys can't provide any guarantees but if I test it on a corner of the towel, what sort of reaction should I look for and how quickly would I know?
Try a drop, allow it to sit and if it softens the surface, refrain from using it.
@@diydetailofficial By "softens" do you mean sort of "melting"? Would it be obvious?
Yes, you will feel the change
Could you make a video about cleaning the engine bay on a 5th Gen Ram with eTorque? The reason I ask is that it's a mild hybrid system with an electric motor in the engine bay.
On the way
Great video as always. Got your rinseless wash and legacy sponge last week. I love the performance but my sponge is already falling apart. The red and black side are seperating from each other after 3 cars being washed… Using your method of not using pressure btw. Is this a known issue? Thanks.
Please contact our customer service, they will replace it for you .

Everything was AMAZING. Most satisfying video I saw. I thought that you were cleaning a mud not a car. LOL 😅
Thank you.
What can you use if you don’t have a garden hose?
A weed sprayer of some sort
So when it comes to cleaning tires. Is it the same when it comes to a tire coating? The coating will take care of the browning similar to a tire dressing?
Yes.
@ Thank you. I’m afraid that the browning would affect and come through the coating after all the prep. Hopefully that’s won’t happen as you’ve indicated. 🙏Thanks again
Curious, what is the pH of the water spot remover? It worked great on my car, but I want to clean my shower head with it too. The shower head has stainless steel, so I don’t want to use too strong of an acid and etch it, leading to rust.

What other products can safely lubricate the razor blade besides Ceramic Gloss?
You can use a detailer with SIO2 as well.
You want some form of spray wax or sealant.
Is it okay for me to pre spray with rinseless wash (256:1) in an IK foam sprayer? Or do I need to buy a different IK sprayer that’s NOT THE FOAM MODEL?
That will work
Can i ask what work platform you use to reach the roof of the suv? Thanks
www.lowes.com/pd/Werner-Aluminum-Adjustable-Height-and-Linking-Pro-Platform-300lb-AP-2030L-MP2/5005470339
Do you need to blowdry after a foam pre-wash, before applying the rinseless wash?
No need
What about removing all the mud from the undercarriage/chassis? Never see any videos about cleaning these areas particularly as we enter Winter.
Same as on the paint, just messier
WOW!! Talk about washing a filthy, dirty, muddy truck. You have super exceeded all expectations. Great job guys and thank you for lots of lessons learned.
Thanks!
THIS... is exactly the process ive developed here in rural south Georgia
Perfect
I feel like this has been answered before but you can clay on a ceramic coating and glass coating with your towel? Or is that mechanical abrasion that removes coatings?
Our towel is non abrasive
@@diydetailofficial Thank you!
Is there a reason that you initially misted with water instead of spraying with rinseless?
Absolutely you may use rinseless instead of garden hose, good point...
DIY Detail Rinse Less Wash is a great option.
Can I use rinseless as lubricant for razorblade paint removal instead of ceramic gloss?
DIY Detail Ceramic Gloss is a better choice due to its higher viscosity
Misting the mud makes a barrier for the chemicals added later? Also, the extra water dilutes the ratio of the cleaner?
It helps the chemical, its not enough to worry about in terms of dilution
Now, if you hadn't let it dry, could you just have followed up with a second foam with the contact wash or nah?
Yes, but we wanted to show how much a contact wash is needed.
One time I had a silver f150 wich was a trail queen like that one. They were expecting a polish and it would be back to perfect paint. The silver color helped, and I could bring back some life to it. Just like for pet hair. There were no point to remove more clear since it was going in the wood at the next hunt season.
Now for the road paint side of thing. Since you were on a short time frame, the razor blade trick was the go to. For DIY's at home, is the vaseline over night bath still relevant?
Yes, but the Razor blade is easy for anyone
@@diydetailofficial perfect thanks👌
can you blow-dry after rinseless wash? Towels scratch my soft black paint, even with a drying aid. Quality towels too.
No, towel drying is best
Will iron remover, water spot remover or all clean damage my ceramic coating? 100% safe?
It depends how you apply them? Don't be real aggressive. It is recommended once or twice a year, depending on miles driven & climate?
DIY Detail Ceramic Coatings are more resistant to chemicals than the paint.
Great work! Can't wait to see the finished product. I didn't realize you guys were in Omaha until one of Pan's visits earlier this year. I live just a bit south of Plattsmouth.... My black Tundra often looks like that Range Rover--but a lot less scratches. Perhaps I should bring my truck to you next time I'm caked in Nebraska mud. 😄
Out of curiosity, do you guys sell your product at the shop, or just online?
Next time we are there , we would be happy to detail your truck, send me an email at the beginning of March. No we do not sell products in Omaha, it’s a film studio only.
If you use all 4 sides of decontamination towel. Can you rinse in clean water or soap to go at more of the car?
Yes, dunk in your wash bucket and go.
You mentioned laundering the microfiber towel that was used with water spot remover separately. Did you mean launder them in a separate load from your other microfiber towels?
No, once you rinse them out after use, launder with all your other towels
When you say to add a little bit of incredible suds to the all clean, how much do you recommend?
One capful per mixed gallon
Great video guys especially heading into the winter. Stepped away from detailing over the summer and just gearing back up. I noticed you have a V2 of Rinseless Wash. What's the difference? Or is there a video I need to search for to watch for the summary? As always thanks and Happy New Years from middle-TN.
V2 has a different polymer package, same great cleaning, just a slightly slicker feel when using it.
Today I detailed a car that was re-painted 7 years ago, never been clayed, but does get washed occasionally so it was not covered in grime/sap/bugs etc. I did a good prewash, foam, bucket wash with high ph chemicals and the car looked good. When I did the decon towel step combined with iron remover (and rinseless wash as a lubricant) the car felt and sounded rough, worse than I’ve experienced with other cars. I patiently and gently kept at it with the decon towel keeping it well lubed but it seemed like no progress. I used a “light” clay bar (if there is such a thing?) on a small section and went back over with the decon towel and seemed like a good improvement., not perfect but much better. I guess sometimes actual clay is necessary? Also maybe the “repaint” just happened to not be as smooth as an original paint job? Any thoughts and advice?
Unfortunately, yes sometimes we have to go to extremes
@ thank you! If I do have to use a clay bar, is it still ok to pair it with the iron remover? That brilliant step makes a 16oz bottle last about 4x longer.
Depends on the clay bar
Would like to see the same vehicle after coated come back after an off rood session and see how easy the mud slides right off!!
That would be a great follow-up!
Water Spot Remover must be really hard to make, it's been out of stock for months.
It’s soon back, one of the raw ingredients was in a worldwide shortage.
The car is obviously used off-road a lot, the paint is already ruined by the dirt being thrown off the tires, so you could simply soak the soil with water and rinse it off (no high pressure), which would save you a lot of chemicals.
We wanted to show how to clean safely.
Are the caps on the new 16oz bottles of V2 larger? The cap on my original 16oz bottle of V1 that I refill with V2 now from the gallon is not close to 1/2 oz. I found that out filling my keg. For science, I poured 4 cap fulls, even to the top of the V1 cap, into a 2oz measuring cup that I usually use to fill my keg 4 gallons of rinseless at a time... It was not close to 2oz. Should I be using the measuring cup and ordering a new bottle of V2 to get the larger cap or am I miscalculating something?
The caps are slightly under 1/2 oz, but 1 capful is enough.
When Is Water spot Remover In Stock Again (Waiting on Gallon)?Thank You Always For The Content!
We are working hard to get it back
Love the video the music choice made me feel like I watched a ocean animal discovery channel video
Thank you.
When Ivan says let the Iron remover dwell for a bit for it to work in your favor, make sure it’s not drying on the paint!
It’s not a problem if DIY Detail Iron Remover dries on the paint, it will rinse off
@@diydetailofficial learn something new everyday! Thank you
Do you ever rinse the decontamination towel during the iron remover process back into your rinseless bucket between a couple of panels? I can't recall having seen you do that before, but, though it might be something you did off camera after hitting 3 or 4 panels.
Yes, after 3-4 panels
How do you clean the clay towel? mine feel in dirt.
In your wash bucket, rub with a soft brush.
For the iron remover is it one spray per panel?
One on the towel, one on the panel
You should do a limited edition bottle of incredible suds with Nick the foam master on the label
Good idea
I would have thought you should have cleaned and washed your clay towel much more often to reduce the risk of adding scratches to the other panels or used new separate clay towels for every other panel?
With the towel folded in 4, we can do 4 sections before needing to soak it in the wash bucket
Would be a cool comparison with chem X Stars and Stripes
Thank you.
Another thing, once you pretreat it, it should be pressure washer off and then foam it with a foam cannon, since the foam cannon is nothing but sitting in top of the prewash
The foam allows the DIY Detail All Clean to dwell longer
Now I'm all for this method, but how many people do you think would actually wash their car like this😂
There are sports car owners who would rather have the convenience of auto washes.
I prefer to have my paint last longer though, so I'll go the extra mile.
We are here to educate and show diverse techniques.
When you showed the subscribe license plate I realized I wasn’t subbed!
Side question, I’m using ONR and the big red sponge and I noticed that the dirt doesn’t fall off the sponge as easily as in your videos.
Is that a difference in the sponge, rinseless product, or is it me?
Polymer based Rinseless washes do a poor job of cleaning the wash media. After a few washes you will want to wash the sponge with some dish soap. Massage it in, and rinse until the soap is gone. You will be amazed what comes out of it.
I've been using normal fingernail polish remover from a drug store for at least 3-4 years over probably 1200 cars on road paint and all the other smudges, scuffs, paint transfers etc with zero issues. Seems dangerous to use a razor blade but its probably like any tool, when you know how to use it correctly, you can do the job faster.
Here’s a better explanation of using a razor
How to remove OVERSPRAY & *Heavy* Contamination on paint! (THE RAZOR BLADE METHOD??)

I subscribed. I currently use N914. I am open to trying your product but what are the primary differences?
DIY Detail Rinse Less Wash is a hybrid surfactant/polymer solution.
@@diydetailofficialcan you explain or point me to a video that explains this in lay terms? I am assuming you are saying yours is slicker but still leaves nothing behind? The latter is important to me. I want something that is a strong cleaner but leaves nothing behind. I am attracted to the simplicity of your product and the depth of knowledge you have around a rinse-less solution. Thanks!

You forgot to clay the middle part of the hood. You could tell when you applied the water spot remover 😉👍🏻
The film crew noticed, we did it off camera.
Over cleaning can lead to dry rot on your tires.
Exactly.
We are getting more and more California transplants out to the small Western town that is closest to my ranch. They are ultra-concerned about the environment. What happens with all the chemicals that go down the drain inside your shop? And I see a lot of misting of chemicals going on without any TH-camrs wearing respirators. Nobody worried about inhaling all that stuff for years?
In the shop we have a triple trap. In our case the dirt and film we wash off the car is more damaging then the chemicals.
I like the video as we finally get tips on how to wash a muddy vehicle. But hearing the music, I was waiting for the God Father to appear :-)
It’s a classic
For Muddy vehicles, an undercarriage wash & rinse system should be developed, in my opinion...
They exist
Another TH-camr tipped to use a patio cleaner attachment on your pressure washer. And just flip that upside down (or downside up 😅). Haven't tried it myself. I leave that part to the carwash.
Not too sure about this sponge method. Reminds me of how my dad washed his truck in the 80s and that thing was micro scratched to hell and back.
The Legacy Sponge has nothing to do with those 80’s sponges. It’s like comparing a 80’s tv to a 2025 OLED television.

The music and the mist of the spray, I just got bored, pressure washer isn't going to harm it, since it was put on there by the driver, if anything it has already embedded itself in the paint, so I'm going to use a pressure washer!
Your risk to take.
Ok, I’ll start the unofficial vote…..
Who thinks Yvan and Nick should start saying “Perforated Decon Towel” instead of the mouthful that is “Perforated Synthetic Decontamination Towel” At least for the videos.
Just rolls off the tongue better.
We’ve gotten used to it.

@@jlv11b Seriously? I really like their content. I just have a hard time focusing on people talking when there is other sounds. I was asking if they could change it so that I can learn better on their videos?? Not every critique is negative. Sometimes it's just criticism to help them know their audience. The internet is so dumb, that's so annoying that you think so negatively. What a silly world.
Can you just put the entire detail in one video?
It would be too long unfortunately
Missed a strip right up the middle of the hood.

Respect for your techniques/methods but one step to many, with your last snowfoam application outside, you could of easily did the touch washdown, clay, spot remover, hit the rims with beads, and dry car all outside. Then bring inside to start the polishing process. No need to bring inside then do a rinseless IMHO more time and another product when it was not necessary. Your techniques/methods of removing such a dirt/mud vechile initially, I am with 100%. I have seen other go at it strait with a powerwasher, no thank you. Your way is much safer.
