Your playing is terrific and your videos are great. The sound quality of the recording is deep and resonant ... makes it feel like you are giving 1on1 personal concerts! I am just learning violin (< 1 year) and have three questions : (1) How long have you been playing to get so good? (2) Likewise how much do you practice weekly to stay so good? (3) How long does it take you to work out one of her songs? I have all her sheet music and the annotation of her specific play style is daunting! I'm trying to learn Minimal Beat right now. It's super hard but tons of fun. I love how she provides backtracks and such things.
Kevin Nasman thank you ! I have played for more than 30 years and have a classical background, that helps a lot to play modern pieces like Lindsey's. I would say the most important thing for a beginner is to learn the violin technique with a teacher (if you don't have one already). That way you can have a nice sound, get rid of bad habits and practice better. Minimal Beat is a great song and most of it can be played at first position of the left hand like Lindsey does in her recording. Have fun !
