Im moving to Tarland soon, looking forward to checking this place out. I normally prefer steep and tight(like innerleithen), but will still be good to have this on my doorstep
I seem to be in the minority of riders that felt underwhelmed by Tarland. Maybe it’s because I know the quality of riding available in Aberdeenshire so a theme park of berms and smooth trails seemingly built to appeal most to E Bikers really didn’t do it for me. Well worth a visit if in the area riding the myriad of naturally built trails but once was enough for me. Still great views and seems to be bringing them in so thats a positive.
Hey its completely normal. Everyone is different and most are picky about there type of riding. I really ride a greate mix and appreciate moste peoples point of view. I have also heard that its allready very loose and full of breaking bumps which has diminished its perfection
You missed the best trail - Spine was closed when you were there, but open now, and it's really great. Bigger features. More smiles. You had a nice day for it, certainly.
Thats a really good reason to go back this year. It might have to wait a a bit as trips to spain Italy and france are coming soon subscribe for the videos
Yeah you need to make a few days of it. Visit fort William. 3 miles dh blue and Glenlivet UK longest blue. Worlftrax for some technical stuff. That makes the trip worth it
I had two batteries. One new 750wh on old 500wh that's giving out about 400wh now. I would have managed 45 miles on both but the ruined tyre ended it at ,5200 feet of climbing
@@LazyMTBriderComrie is not far up the road from Crieff. Its a great trail centre, pretty rocky and technical. The blue has also recently reopened after having had a bunch of work done to it
@@stevo_fpv933 That's a shame, it looks like there's a lot of climbing. An old bloke like me with an 'analogue' bike that has to be pedaled up hill is going to need a rest at the top
@@nsjohnston The climb isn't too bad as it zig zags its way up. Plenty places to stop for a breather. It only really gets steep if you got to the top of the hill and do the Pressure trails.
Understand your point, and putting aside bike park/trail centre bit, it’s a subjective comment. But that said Lazy MTB Rider (thanks for the vid BTW) is right to be so enthusiastic about it. I’ve ridden both and they’re very different - BPW definitely has less flow but more variety and much more challenging blacks but honestly Tarland (I live thirty mins away) is well worth the visit if someone of beginner/intermediate ability wants something bermy, very well designed and constructed with doable doubles and jumps. And while it’s new, no braking bumps
It’s a trail centre not a hotel. It’s Scotland’s first proper trail centre so its not going to be perfect, if you want an uplift go somewhere with one or ride an E-bike. As for the cafe and camping facility’s you need to realise what a trail centre is, its for bikes, you want to camp? Goto a camp site. It’s a great trail center beacuse of the trails thats what it was built for, not for camping or anything else.
Give it time, it’s only been open a couple of weeks. There are toilets. Glenlivet can support a cafe so maybe that will come. You would have to look at the numbers first. It’s an impressive place though. Hats off to all involved.
that looked beyond mad, wow

I went back a few weeks ago there spot on with maintenance. Still in great condition
You'll be close to Ballater and Aboyne. Easily able to compete with the best...
@@jakewarden3574 Yes I rode Heartbreak ridge a few days ago, that was very good, and mastermind(decent). Aboyne is next!
Great video. Heading up there in July! 👍🏻
Excellent video dude💪🏽👍🏽😀
Thanks so much
I loved it although i think id get bored quickly. Hope theres room for a tech trail in there somewhere.

Have you been to cannop Forest of Dean?
yes a few times and loved it . see the video below

How many batteries did you get through for 6 hours of biking there? I did Tarland a few weeks ago and only got about 2-1/2 hours from my 750 battery

Looks epic👊🏼
Have you ridden Comrie Croft?
No . Where is it ?. Is it good?

I’m going
Enjoy. Are you ebiking
Is there an uplift?
No uplift. Not sure if there are any plans for this in the future however.

@@stevo_fpv933 How long is the climb? If I come for a day how many descents would I get in?
It's a long climb but like everything else there very well built. It's steady the whole way never getting steep at any point.
Best by far is a long shot. What about Bike Park Wales etc etc etc. Loads more variety as well not just berm upon berm
BPW is a bike park not a trail centre! So it's not in the comparison. Trail centres just to clarify are free to ride!

So no uplift what about, Toilets, Showers, Bike wash, Cafe, Camping, Bike shop? Ok the trails are good, does it have any of these though??

@@baxter3.0 glentress? Plenty of trail centres
@@jimmytrump2029 sorry, meant to say Aberdeenshire don’t know why I brought up Scotland as a whole.
There are toilets and camping and town close by. Personally I'm glad they spent all of the million on trails not a cafe.
Looks but boring to me.
You have to ride it to understand how it feels. Pretty much unanimous positive reviews
Ride faster, jump harder and soak up the scene Liz !
Tonnes of other more technical/natural trails in the area if that's more what you're into.
