In my opinion, the opening of Emerald Knights had the most messed up death out of all Green Lantern deaths. I mean, she gets ripped apart and disintegrated, while screaming in agony just before her body is completely dissolved.

I will say one thing though....they did do Hal dirty in the John Stewart movie.....but everyone was done dirty no effort in that movie at all. Only effort was in the death scenes.

It’s funny how often Lanterns get the short end of the stick when they wield some of the most powerful weapons in the universe.
If someone with an Overactive imagination came along, they’d be pretty hard to put down if they had the willpower to back it up😅
This would make a nice gag series or imagine some super-rich alien girl from a powerful family who thinks everything is beneath her, who grew up never having to fear anything getting a green lantern ring.

Maybe it's because fuckign guardians messed up so much things: menhunters, paralax in a battery, not saving kryptonians, first lantern Vulthum, no actions against Darskide for centuries, hiding crucial knowledge, "no killing" ring blocks...
Those little fuckers did everything to doom the univerce. Ffs, they just threw fucking Doomsday on innocent highly developed race in hopes that they can kill him, but surprise surprise - he destroyed most of their world before they could contain him and throw into space.
They can control every ring, but still were trusting Sinestro, being ignorant to the fact that he is a tyrant in his sector, not mentioning his plans to use yellow power of piss.
Those dudes fucked up everything they've ever dealed with
Plus on the no-kill block on the rings, they also hamstrung them in other ways to purposefully nerf their lanterns because they don't trust them.
Sinestro wanted revenge for his family's deaths that is why he betrayed the Green Lantern Core
One of them looked at the Big Bang "twice" both Pre and Post-Crisis, poetically describing the genesis of the original multiverse and the New Earth universe, and yet someone else who did almost the exact same thing became the "Pariah" and had to watch as countless worlds were erased in Crisis. The Guardians get off too easy.

It’s because there’s so many of them that they can kill as many as they want off without any real worries, and the fact that the ring is said to be one of the strongest weapons in the universe, so they get beat down repeatedly to show how big a threat a villain is or how strong or skilled another hero is, but most writers seem to have forgotten that to actually sell something like that you still need to show the characters being beaten as still strong or at least fairly competent sometimes. Because if you don’t do that it gets to the point where it’s like “I defeated a green lantern!” “Cool you and the rest of the universe.”

You can thank that Ryan Renolds' Green Lantern movie, that movie was so much of a joke that Hollywood decided to make green lanterns taking Ls a running gag for the rest of time. Look at the timeline and you'll see. The last good green lantern series was the animated on from the early 2010s, where they were in frontier space.

I blame the Writers of these stories. They are extremely messed up in the head.
The Green Lanterns are basically the Worf of DC. A professional, organised force that has protected the universe for eons, led by immortals who’ve seen and dealt with most everything.
Taking them down, or writing the Guardians as jerks or bad guys, enhances the that level of the bad guy. At least theoretically.

It probably comes from their power itself, Will. Ask yourself this: If a Green Lantern show up on screen, what do you feel? Hope? Serenity? The will to retaliate? Either way, the green color they wear remind you of not giving up, just like their prolific quotes "In brightest day, in blackest night, No evil shall escape my sight." With that, they can fight back again and steeled their will.
However, writers use them as a scapegoat to show you that a situation is hopeless. And it tends to be too much, just like half of the clips in this video. That's why GL is always a victim to cruelty.
Because will is generally the hardest thing to break, therefore it has to be the first thing to be broken.

I get annoyed by this kinda thing. A green lanterns power is literally only limited by their will. One of my favorite things in movies and media is how often the indomitable human spirit is shown off. Green lanterns, especially human ones, should be insane, their barriers start cracking and they get angry and just start yelling, about earth and everything its overcome and their rings start getting stronger. Like the more dire the circumstances, the more determined many humans become, if thats how media wants to portray us, then green lantern needs to stop getting their asses kicked like this.
if green lantern is not on the title of the comic and they show up they always lose they have been redesignated as the generic strong hero's that get defeated to show how strong a new threat is because in most of their own stories they are unstoppable gods of willpower but in everything else they are D.C comics official punching bags.
Even if is is the title the corp can still get wiped out to build up the main Earth one of the week.

Green Lanterns are the Stars And Stripes of DC. Powerful enough so that they can job for the main threat to show just how much of a threat they are.
Didnt even need to show how badly represented Hal has been recently. The "getting jumped by Parademons" was hilarious the first time. After that, it sorts felt mean-spirited.

I can tell the script writers of this game never heard of mr Freeze's introductory story "a cold cold heart" in which freeze is basically dead inside because his wife is not with him. Every breathe he says is depressing and tired. His only concern is saving his wife and getting revenge. He is self destructive in how conducts himself and lashes out against the world to save his wife. And if not save her avenge her. This is why people love his character and if you are thinking that this character fundamentally doesn't fit this game...you'd be right. Hince why even if they had the actual mr freeze in this game and have him act as they have mrs Freeze it would still be lack luster. It was a terrible idea from the get go
