Those cement ovens...that company (after a few mergers /sales) came out to Australia. Started a cement works giving the town its name..Portland. Portland cement isnt in Portland anymore moved now. But in the '50s almost its entire output went to London to rebuild. Bit of trivia lol

Kent Survival , I'm so glad I moved ,live in the South Downs now, Dartford has got so much air pollution ,I used to get hay fever or that's what the doctor called it ,but as soon as I moved I'm fine now! It's a big cover up because theirs nothing the government can do about it ,everyone wants to drive so that's the result.

I was in that area not so long ago...parked up at Cliffe then followed the Saxon Shore Way past the two forts then cut across and followed the Thames and Medway Canal back. I tried getting into Cliffe Fort but couldn't find a way. I wish I had persisted as it looks pretty atmospheric inside. Maybe I'll try again soon. I live in Kent too.

That's a really awesome location to have your campfire at, especially as the Thames foreshore is packed with thousands of years of history behind it. Thinking about what you said about bird identification, when I went out on a photo walk earlier this week I saw a large gathering of Buzzards above one of the dales in the peak district here. Unfortunately, I couldn't get any images as I'm geared up to shoot macro images. Can't win them all I guess. Super video and fascinating location. Take care...

Its a great area.. gonna go back for a long walk there soon actually.. there is another RSPB location nearby with a lot of info and hides.. Ill have to visit it one day (though I don't have the best in zoom lens' haha) thanks for watching ATB - Andy

15:02- the sound of a pied oystercatcher in the background😍, one of the few bird calls you can hear in the UK that is exactly the same here in Australia. Very nostalgic for me. 👍. Another good one Andy!

Interesting clay pipe. I didnt know about sizing on bowls. The few I've seen here in museums found in archeological digs Sydney and Parramatta had small bowls. It was explained that was because smoking was against regulations..basically illegal for convicts to smoke. So basically same concept cost of the weed lol.
I like your vids a bit of this a bit of that. Trivia and historical nuggets are always good fun to hear.
Ive watched all your vids only discovered your chanell on 5th lol. Looking foward to next upload. Cheers ATB Andy
