Glad that you're continuing making this kind of "Don't buy a X before watching this" videos from now on 👍Very informative for the potential buyers. I wished there was a video like this for Polestar 2, but I've already spent months watching your videos and others' videos about it and decided to order one :) I'm perfectly aware of its not so great charging curve and the not so great range, but otherwise I like the car's design, build quality, driving experience and Android Automotive system. Plus, as you said, it was cheaper than an XC40 :) Really looking forward to what Volvo and Polestar will bring next to the market in the coming years
Thanks. Volvo South Africa just announced that the XC40 Recharge will be avaiable. It still costs R1.2million Rand. Petrol version is R700k rand. So almost double. But great that it is now avaiable. We still have limited number of EVs in South Africa. The more the better.
It's always gratifying to hear a well-respected reviewer wax poetic about the car one has ordered. Canadians will be interested in knowing that the "Core" XC40 Recharge qualifies for the Canadian Government's $5k rebate, with or without the ($10k) "Plus" or ($1.5K) "Climate" packs, but not with the ($13k) "Ultimate" pack. Unfortunately (and strangely, imo), Volvo Canada has included adaptive cruise control in the Ultimate pack only. A rep at my local dealer told me that most customers (myself included) are buying only the Climate Package. No word on when the FWD model will be available in Canada.
Hey Kris! Good video and good car. I ordered on January 20, 2020. I got the car on December 4, 2020. The Volvo XC40 is fantastic. The car has been on the market for two months. We are waiting for updates OTA. The car is wonderful to drive. Fast. Looks tough. The only thing is the battery that lasts between 20 and 30 miles in winter. This summer we hope for up to 40 miles. I have a mile to go to work. Am not often out on the long trips so this is good for me. But in the spring I will drive Gudbrandsdalen to Lofoten with this car. It will be a long trip.
What an Incredible video! We have an XC40 petrol here in the USA. It’s a great car and this past weekend I test drove an XC40 Recharge and Mustang Mach-E. Of course the Volvo was superior in so many ways to the Mach-E except maybe for the screen size. I found the XC40 Recharge to be so much more engaging and responsive to our petrol powered XC40. I have yet to test a Polestar 2, but that is going to happen in the next month and I am looking forward to seeing if I can adapt back to a sedan after having a small SUV (BMW X3) since 2008. Should wait thought for the Q4 or C40? Europe is always ahead of us with the new vehicles.
I don't like the polestar 2... Mainly because of the shape, it looks odd, like it doesn't know if it wants to be an Sedan or a Crossover, and maybe like a small SUV, and then the interior... I HIGHLY dislike the look of mostly a display center console, While volvo has that larger display it retains a lot of details that makes it look far nicer.
Really beautiful exterior trim you have on this XC40. Goes so well with the sage green, especially without the two-tone roof. We don’t have this option in US, but all the more reason to buy in Sweden ; )
Hi Kris, love your videos! We just bought the XC40 Recharge single motor. We are driving Volvo now for 15 years. Actually we wanted to wait for an other 2-3 years to buy the electric version of the XC40. But your videos made us decide to buy now. Do you already know when you will test the single motor version from the XC40? Looking forward to see this video:). Keep up the good work.
I just ordered the C40…Claimed electrical consumption is 2 kWh/km. 3,5 is a bit more 🙈 Hope a SW update will help that. Hope you will give C40 a test later.
No wonder Norway is the no1 EV country. Comparing the polestar 2 pricing: Norway, starting from 469.000Nkr (460.000Skr) Sweden, starting from 659.000Skr. Even if I remove the Swedish VAT in relation to the low VAT on EV's in Norway, there's still a >80.000Skr difference.

Tried the polestar today - none of us liked it. Not much space inside and the floor isn't even - it just felt awkward to us. I then went to Volvo and tried the xc40 - much better comfort in our opinion. They feel like two completely different vehicles.
Very good review. Think it was very balanced highlighting strengths and weakness. IMO the best options to spec would be the heatpump and assistance systems pack.

A friend of mine is urging me to get the xc40 recharge, but I have decided on the BMW i4-40 M Sport instead. I have no need of an SUV and I don't like their bulbuous appearance. Volvo/Polestar recalling all their hybrid and battery cars. Typical company that rushes out products to try to capture a high stock valuation. Every car company is scared of Tesla buying them and kicking out management. Since Equity financing is the cheapest form of acquisition finance. EDIT: I forgot though that every country would raise protective barriers to prevent a large employer from being bought by a foreign entity. 2008-2015 M&A frenzy is a thing of the past. Governments have realized that money printing and national security laws can save their domestic companies from being eaten by foreign competition. (EU borders are EU borders so a heritage automaker like FIAT whose parent owner holding company is also European heritage merging with a French auto maker was palatable)

Нейросети Яндекса неплохо переводят. Местами даже смешно: "Опусти мне большой палец ниже". Забыли добавить: "кожанный мешок".
What the heck are you eating? I’m getting hungry too.
Hej Google, where is the Volvo xc40 recharge built? 😉

@@willielarsson9651 I wake up in the middle of the night in cold sweat thinking about that stitching
With all the Taxes in Finland, we can barely afford to drive a bicycle

You talk WAY to slow for a review. Video should have been 10 minutes, not 17.
range is desperately loooow
If this car is made in China it's going to be a heavy Lotto problem I don't really recommend it to buy it, late models of Volvo terrible quality shame on you VOLVO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not interested in a car made in China. Some of the Volvo appeal is a European car.
👍👍👍
I'm sorry but your presentation was too long. I hope you enjoy your lunch. Best regards
just the 300 series was uglier !
Nice parking buy the inconsiderate van driver. 😳
Vury
Have you lost some weight Kris?
Hahaha volvo made in china...
nice clickbait, downvoted
It's not click bait you dumb ass! Would advice you to actually learn the definition of the words you use before you go downvoting other videos based on incompetence 🙈
@@KrisRifa even started the video with "watch until the very end" got that ad revenue. Good one
What’s wrong with that? With scripting, logistics, filming and editing a video like this take around two working days. Of course I would want as much as revenue as possible because at this point TH-cam is a job 😊 Do you expect people to make videos just as a hobby and work their asses of else where? 🙈
