Every time I watch that scene, I can't help but notice how sincerely Michaela Pratt, played by Aja Naomi King, seemed to admire Viola Davis's acting prowess.
Annalise Keating, Olivia Pope, Cookie Lion, and Claire Huxtable - 4 Amazing black female characters brought alive by 4 outstanding black actresses. I'm glad I was alive to see them.
Why does this woman bring tears to my eyes with every part she plays, every scrip she reads. It’s as if she possesses the key that opens secret doors in OUR LIVES that would never… or could ever… be so truthfully and eloquently verbalized with such heartfelt compassion by anyone but her. Thank you.
This serie was the reason I got a Netflix account. Viola Davis deserves truly all the awards possible for this character. Outstanding work and a place where she fully shined.
See how she uses minutes instead of hours, days, or year in that one scene? That one way to over exaggerate a scene/moment to create sympathy, there's a difference between hearing him spending "492,750 minutes in solitary" and "him spending almost a year in solitary" Bravo to the script writer!
The look on cicely tyson on the supreme Court trial says it all....She saw the artistic uniqueness of MISS DAVIS...!!!Viola represented the human experience in a superb way....its beyond acting!!!!!
Why can’t I press like more than once so I’ll just say yes yes yesssssssssssss. I totally and completely agree this is WAY BEYOND ACTING THIS IS REAL LIFE!!!!!
I really love the way Viola played those different interview scenes. Very subtle but you could tell she was taking the all-women firm's and the social just firm's offers more seriously than the other 2. So much chararacterization and showing vs telling. She's a genius.
That was some rare good ahz tv! Thanks to Viola Davis and great writing. I'm watching the whole series again, because there's nothing better than it these days - not for a long time now.
Listen I remember being mad watching the crossover from scandal and htgwm because Annalise is top tier and I wanted her to show Olivia how much more of a baddass she is than Olivia is then this scene came on and I didn’t need Annalise to put Olivia in her place just needed Olivia to watch annalise in the courtroom the last facial expression tells me she knew she met her match and how amazing she is
Wow.... I didn't even notice that the legendary Timothy Hutton joined the cast at the final season... If i knew that, i would probably continue watch it
I never saw this show and sorry I missed it, but the last few minutes of this clip is the question being as asked & answered now 11/5/2024. At that time we will find out the kind of country they want to live in.
The supreme court case made me teary, laugh, happy, sad. How it sounds like a thing of the past but in 2024 how we are still far from that promise being true for us all AMERICANS.
When I worked corporate I absolutely hated it. I was great at my job but I never played any politics or games. This showcases women being absolute cutthroats in a business dominated by men. Nice to see even in fiction.
Idc but no one couldve pulled off this character or these lines except Viola 😂 Meryl would be the white version in this character. Im but this series was so hilarious bcuz of Viola's ability to match her quick wit and facial expressions
Meryl is great but you’re right not one person could have pulled this off but viola. Even down to her romantic relationships on the show, they would have not had the same dynamic. She is such a great talent
This show man...sheesh. Annalise was a beast. Viola Davis really brought the intensity this role needed. She slayed and took no prisoners
“No supervisor”, “No Staff Meetings”, “No Backseat Driving”.
This is my DREAM!!!
And no minimum billable hours
Paradise as an employee. Leave me the F alone and let me do me
This series is the reason why I got my Law degree
Well then You have come to learn that half the things these lawyers do in these cases wouldn't work or be allowed by the judges/ courts
Yea…..Rigghht!!
As- IF Jesus would even Blieve YOU😅😅😂🤣

Listen Kerry Washington as Olivia Pope and Viola Davis as Annalise Keating WAS PERFECT CASTING.
It was
That man that played Olivia daddy too
Her monologue in front of The Supreme Court was single-handedly the most powerful I've ever seen
Every time I watch that scene, I can't help but notice how sincerely Michaela Pratt, played by Aja Naomi King, seemed to admire Viola Davis's acting prowess.
She is the reason I have a tv law degree
She's the reason I went to take law classes.
😂😂
Lol@tv law degree 👩🎓
That’s cute 🤣🤣
Lmao
One of the best actresses I have ever seen! Great show. Thanks for sharing.☮️
Her students were so ungrateful especially Michaella😒
She was an opportunistic. Whenever she saw opportunity with Keating she crept to her..and when the situations were unfavorable she cut herself
What happened to her
I hated that child
@@ShantaloShumbayawonda Me too
@@ShantaloShumbayawondaI just couldn’t stand her.
Viola Davis embodiment of Analise Keaten increased my emotional intelligence and assertiveness

Others were getting their Law degrees because of this series and all you got was a Netflix account 😂
Annalise Keating is a Legend!
11:06 this scene is just so heavy. Complete silence, yet so heavy. Hands down to the one of the best TV series the Americans have ever produced.
This is when hardwork and passion meet TALENT AND TIMING!!!
See how she uses minutes instead of hours, days, or year in that one scene? That one way to over exaggerate a scene/moment to create sympathy, there's a difference between hearing him spending "492,750 minutes in solitary" and "him spending almost a year in solitary"
Bravo to the script writer!
Not only that, it then proceeds to have a full minute of silence; just to exemplify how LONG a minute can feel
525,600 minutes. 525 thousand moments so dear
Amazing. She made me tear up many times during the show with these amazing speeches. What a great actress you are Viola!!!!!!!
I miss her. She's the best black woman of power on tv. I've watched many series but this character is jist sooo damn uplifting.

„Where money is more important then humanity, where criminality is confused with mental health“ sheesh
That one minute of silence is what drove me to be much more compassionate, careful and thorough in the cases i take on.
THE SCENE AT 11:00 CHANGE MY LIFE.... OMG I STILL GET CHILLS
This was prime writing! It was phenomenal and will always have a special place in my heart
I remember 10 seconds into the minute I just put my hand over my face like damn, we really do that to some people who don't deserve it 🤦🏿♂️

I love Mrs Tyson gazing like a proud mother ahead of her show and real life death. Knowing the art was in good hands with Viola Davis 🥲
