That was awesome. I wish TH-cam had a repeat button so I could play this over and over again. It makes long for a time and place that I don’t know but somehow feel nostalgic for.
Hi Philip, been following you both here and on the main channel for quite a while now. Not enough words to actually express my gratitude for the amazing contents you brings us. My son, not even 2 months old, simply fell in love with this song ❤
Nice job. It's very significant especially coming from the Iranian musical tradition. I grew up thinking we didn't have any records of pre-qajar music but learning about maraghi some years ago through the Ottoman tradition was very enlightening.
Thank you, Filip. Your music is so moving. Futhernore, I want to acknowledge you in what you share with our world with your education. Many blessings to you, your family, and your friends this holiday season. 🙏❤️🌍🌎🌏🌿🕊🎵🎶🎵💫✨️💫
Amazing work, Filip! Abdul Qader Maraghi is definitely one of the most interesting and influential characters in the history of world music. He not only shaped the musical landscape of the Ottoman empire, but also Iran and Central Asia. His theorical writings on music canonized the courtly musical culture of Late Medieval and Early Modern Islamicate world. On another note, I'm curious about your personal thoughts on his music. His pieces are unusually melodic for the period, even to the point of sounding somewhat modern!
Amazing music, thank you for bringing to life such a classical piece! I am a long-time follower of your main channel, and was glad to discover that you do music. I loved your song Gralstänk, and have been listening to it in a very difficult part of my life. Thank you for adding beauty and knowledge to our world!
Your instrumental interpretation delighted and brightened my morning, Filip. Had a quick delve into Abd al Qadir al Maraghi on the web as curious at your mention of his system of musical notation. As you mentioned, what an extraordinary creative and scholar he was. Perhaps you would like to enlighten us further, one day. 😊
Lovely tune, beautifully played. And very nice camera work, setting, lighting, everything about the video. Top-flight. Thank you for sharing these with us, & so glad I belatedly stumbled on this channel after long following your main one. All the best for your holiday season.
Oh damn. I’ve never questioned the history of musical notation before. Or musical instruments. How did they tune their instruments? Did one person have the master instrument all other instruments were tuned to? Like a medieval musical NIST? That was dope!
There was no standard really. People just tuned their instruments to each other. Although there were some indications on how much tension should be on each string, etc.

they do, right click on video, a menu option loop
on mobile, same thing, hit the three dots at the top right of the video and "Loop" is under "Additional Settings"
You know that's right

I think they are fantastic! And I agree that they are very melodic and "simple"/accessible in a lovely way.
Bravo! Very nice!
i feel so grateful that I found your second channel. So much love ❤️
Beautiful!
Very beautiful rendition of a very beautiful song.
Actually this beautiful song composed by Abdulqader was preserved within Turkish Music and we Iranians were not aware of it up to recent years.

Then came the morning breeze.
❤
Visste ikke at du hadde en til kanal, fine greier
Digger selv persisk musikk
BEAUTIFUL SONG! Thank you for playing it. What does the title mean? It was kind of peculiar to see my last name, Nesimi, in the title…
Nesim means "gentle wind" or breeze in Persian. The title means "here came the morning breeze."
A Yildirim Oud ?
Yep!
@@FilipHolm sounds amazing ! Transports me to a different time & space (: 🙏🏼
Based and redpilled
Thank you for not singing
I'm starting to think that this channel is a mere cultural appropriation given the silence on the ongoing genocide.
damn I have such a soft spot for white people appreciating non-white culture🫶🏽
🥰
