wow ,the monitor audio silver rx 8 is a gratful speaker ,incredible sound ,smooth ,suitable for long listening .a great speaker .congratulations monitor audio on these speakers . but the other speaker kef Q 700 is fantastic too !!
Monitor Audio wins for me as the sound signature seems more natural and true to the recording. KEF delivers a larger soundstage but is less cohesive and the vocals seem a little off. The room acoustics could have been better though as i can hear some echoing.
both excellent speakers. the MAs are warm, forward and fuller. the KEFs are cold, crisp and diffuses the sound around making it seem like its coming from all directions (which i like).
Listening at my sound rig*, passing through your mic, internet, etc, the Monitor Audio sounds more defined and true, the KEF sounds like it has a EQ preset for "hall" effect, scattering the sound waves almost like a micro echo fx. *my rig*: (digital input 1) pc Yamaha soundcard - usb 2 - in/out yamaha MG10XU mixer - Nashville 16x2 pre amp equalizer - Nakamichi AV-10 receiver - (aux 5.2 module) firing 2 custom boxes using 4 x JVC hi-fi jvc 3 3/16" full-range drivers(L-R), infinity central speaker, 2 bose jewel cubes (L-R rear) and two twin active subwoofer boxes (jbl mono amps, cambridge crossovers with 2x 6.5" sub drivers each box). the frankensound
justo tengo ambas y me inclino mas por la fidelidad de las monitor audio, aunque el punch de las KEF es sorprendente, pero la nitidez de las monitor le ganas a mi parecer. Saludos
kefs seem smooth and v shaped to me, with a wider soundstage. RX8s more neutral, detailed and forward. I like them both. Kefs are probably more forgiving in less than perfect rooms.
The proper speaker of the two when it comes to proper reproduction for the song is hands down the monitor audio . Kef's entry line holographic soundstage is always hit or miss depending on the song. What we are hearing is so artificially different than the original recoring that we cant compare it. Silver line while has its flaws is definitely a better monitor speaker.
Sound expansion space is better with KEF, , the mid room is stong presence with Monitor Audio ! is up to your préference, they are two good speaker hy fidelity !
Oh man KEF hands down. Overall treble and bass quality and like the entire sound as a whole was better. The Monitor ones had less bass, and have a lot of middle sound and sound screechy, I don't like the way the vocals sounded on the Monitor audio ones. Sounds like you pushed all the center equalizers up.
RX8 destroys thsese KEF's sorry. KEF is good marketing not sound at all. I had KEF Q100 and they was bad, weak on bass, hight overbright faitgue to listening at higher volumes. These MA RX8 are fenomal soudiing and build quality speakers.

Monitors sound so much more dynamic.
I have these monitor audio. For the price they are great. The metal dome tweeter is a bit harsh at times though.
Kef is deeper in bass . Monitor audio has a better mid range but shallow sound overall. Kef sound echoed. Hard to choose

The KEF are playing in the room next door, like listening to an mp3 boombox.
I'd have to say the KEF's won this one. Much more engaging with better treble. The Monitor Audio's seemed to have a more defined bass though.
RX8 = better - beutifull made and sound speakers.
Kefs make it sound like hes singing through a bog roll. Tin can.
