Revival, it wasn't Eminem, it wasn't Slim Shady, this was Marshal Mathers, the songs i enjoyed and are outstanding for rap standards, but for em standards these are sub par, he could do A LOT better but this is subject matter that is so recent and there isn't much hatred, this whole album you either feels his sadness, regret, or see his weakness as a person. This is a Marshal Mathers album, this is Marshal in his most vulnerable state. Ashamed of all the shit he's done and saddened by all the people hurt and all the lives he's affected negatively, a majority of this album is from events that happened after the MMLP2. These events could've only festered in his mind for a minimum of a couple months and at most 2-3 years. This is Marshal putting his emotions and his heart into words. Kamikaze is him mad at the world for missing the meaning of the album that the fact of the whole album is that this isn't Slim Shady, this isn't Eminem. This is Marshal pouring his heart out onto the mic and trying to put these messes of emotions into words, he showed so much suffering and vulnerability to his fans, more than ever before. The fact that this album was slept on with the meanings pissed him off, he gave them the most emotional album of his to date and he's acting like any sensible person would when you pour your sins onto songs consisting through the entire album. He's mad that the world ignored that he was saying he was human too and they just sat back and critiqued his lyrics or the production when this album was probably rushed because of his poor mental state and possible writers block that would have caused him to be writing sub par bars by his standards, because he took a nose dive on purpose to portray his message as simplistically as possible because he isn't trying to be the meanest MC on this earth any more, he's trying to teach some lessons to kids, he's trying to hold their hands and show them the problems he's faced, his mistakes and the consequences of his actions and if you re listen to Revival with this in mind you will see he paints a perfect picture of this and in turn does a 10/10 job for this album.
When this came out I was homeless, on drugs, and then jail. I now have a house, job, and husband. This song and “Clover Cage - In The Sky” are the two songs that helped get rid of my depression. Revival, it wasn't Eminem, it wasn't Slim Shady, this was Marshal Mathers, the songs i enjoyed and are outstanding for rap standards, but for em standards these are sub par, he could do A LOT better but this is subject matter that is so recent and there isn't much hatred, this whole album you either feels his sadness, regret, or see his weakness as a person. This is a Marshal Mathers album, this is Marshal in his most vulnerable state. Ashamed of all the shit he's done and saddened by all the people hurt and all the lives he's affected negatively, a majority of this album is from events that happened after the MMLP2. These events could've only festered in his mind for a minimum of a couple months and at most 2-3 years. This is Marshal putting his emotions and his heart into words. Kamikaze is him mad at the world for missing the meaning of the album that the fact of the whole album is that this isn't Slim Shady, this isn't Eminem. This is Marshal pouring his heart out onto the mic and trying to put these messes of emotions into words, he showed so much suffering and vulnerability to his fans, more than ever before. The fact that this album was slept on with the meanings pissed him off, he gave them the most emotional album of his to date and he's acting like any sensible person would when you pour your sins onto songs consisting through the entire album. He's mad that the world ignored that he was saying he was human too and they just sat back and critiqued his lyrics or the production when this album was probably rushed because of his poor mental state and possible writers block that would have caused him to be writing sub par bars by his standards, because he took a nose dive on purpose to portray his message as simplistically as possible because he isn't trying to be the meanest MC on this earth any more, he's trying to teach some lessons to kids, he's trying to hold their hands and show them the problems he's faced, his mistakes and the consequences of his actions and if you re listen to Revival with this in mind you will see he paints a perfect picture of this and in turn does a 10/10 job for this album.
