One thing I would say is that in area with strong wind, even the Porsche cover will leave scuff marks which can only be removed with machine polisher. Other than that it is great cover and protects the car from bird droppings, tree saps, dust etc.
When pricing a car cover, the Porsche one was the cheapest compared to 'non-official' cover. Hence check with your OPC first

Totally agree Daniel, all will scratch in windy conditions, ideally only use short term on clean and dry car. Just leave a car uncovered and wash/drive regularly. Cheers, Raj

I used a high end outdoor cover for my 944 Turbo and after years of use it ruined the paintwork. I think modern cars from 987/997 are fine outdoors without. More harm than good.

I found the same personally, water based paint developed dimples as moisture was absorbed against metal under paint. I only recommend short term use and regular drying/cleaning of the car underneath. Great for Autumn while leaves are falling and then leave car uncovered and clean regularly. Cheers, Raj

Great video Raj, and very useful. I use an outdoor cover in a stable where I keep my 997, just to ensureb if birds get in and poo on it. Do you recall the price of the Porsche Outdoor cover? When I change my current non Porsche one I will give it a try.

Je viens d'acheter une bâche extérieure Porsche, elle est restée 10 jours sur ma Porsche et j'ai constaté de l'eau au fond de mon coffre avant . j'ai regardé la vidéo et j'ai bien mis la bâche comme recommandé, je ne comprends pas d'où vient cette eau, on aurait dit de la condensation sous le capot. merci pour votre aide
Avant d'acheter cette bâche la voiture était dehors par temps de pluie mais je n'ai pas eu d'eau dans le coffre avant

Is the official Porsche one recommended for full time outdoor use? It come across on camera as a bit scratchy to me.

I wouldn’t recommend any for full time outdoor use, all will scratch over time and build up moisture. Short term only, thanks, Raj

Keep the outside of the cover from touching the paint.
