Me too, it's my birthday. I was 3 yrs old when Elvis died.
On january 15, 1968, Elvis flew to Nashville to record 2 new tracks for Stay away Joe. Elvis was also working very hard.
I think Elvis would be blown away to know how much has been done to preserve his memory for future generations, not to mention the movies, museums, events, etc. He truly believed no one was going to remember him.

This was so informative. Thank you so much for posting it. I fully understand why Parker was frantic to have a Christmas song in the special because a contract is a contract and breaking a contract could have amounted to millions of dollars being lost in a court case. It could have broken Elvis financially - it would be intriguing for me to know how Parker managed to stop anything of the sort from happening. The other letter to the Radio Stations and how Parker managed to not have to pay a dime for advertising the 68 Special was quite simply pure Grade A 100% Genius. Wow! Whatever you think of Parker, you cannot dispute that he was a true blue, highly successful businessman. Wow!

Angie is the archivist for Graceland, Tom is a host that shows you what is going on with Graceland. If you stay at Graceland 's hotel, there is a channel that shows you the interior of Graceland. He's the host!

Wow, this has some great info in it! I'm only about half way through watching, but thank you for posting this. Also, to Angie's left, is that an Elvis cup with flowers in it? I never thought of doing that and I have a ton of Elvis cups! LOL! Can't tell, but it looks like a cup. Hope you're having a great time. Thanks again for this video.

@@CC_Rider That was the BEST! Tom Brown reading that letter from Parker about the Christmas song not being in the special was hilarious. I also loved the end where they talk about how they have physical copies of letters they can refer back to. Not like today where technology has taken over and everything is emailed or texted...not that I'm complaining about that. This video also reminded me I need to get a current TV with Elvis on the cover from the 68 Special. Thank you again for this video. Very interesting stuff in my opinion.

She is Angie Marchese. She handles Elvis history and exhibits at Graceland. I think her official title is Vice President of Archives and Exhibits. He is Tom Brown. He hosts a lot of the goings-on during Elvis Week.
