Hitting pyramid was one of the best (and scariest) days of my life. After an intense plyometrics workout, I received a last-minute invite from the New Zealand crew that day. Between jello legs and a 152 contest board, the inrun was by far the most nerve-racking part. Nick walked away from the session with his double back 10, remaining one of the best shots on this jump. Such a fun crew and such a fun day. Forever grateful for that invite!!
@@derekcarday "I just got back from my workout sess with Mike Tyson when the crew hmu to come out and race the new track. The Lambo is in the garage but my Porsche is ok I guess. Unless you fall head directly down, it looks like it would be hard to severely injure yourself there, by account of the sheer amount of powder lol The one that looked the most painful imo was the guy who wiped out on the runway, that snow must've been *packed*
Mans hasnt landed a single thing and can barely go down the runway to get to the jump and just decides to say fuck it and tries a double back flip, lmao, love it
I snowboard a fair few times a year but how long does it take to make ramps like this? Do you need a bulldozer or something I mean holy shit. I've made small jumps in the woods off of trails with friends before, but I've always wondered how long a couple guys with shovels would take to make something like this.
I'm not at all a snowboarder but I sure as hell have gone sledding down a really steep Hill and nothing is more relatable than watching them hit the ground lay their flat on their back for a second before just sitting up casually
Unfortunate. It's like a 100ft table top with a mellow kicker. If it was a bit closer with more pop that would have been a really dirty session. Just not enough air time for that kind of speed.
Why are they so hunched over when bombing the runway? Looks like they keep falling when they go over bumps because of it. Or is it necessary for jumping tricks somehow ?
I ski not snowboard so take this with a grain of salt but if you want to gain speed you want to lower your center of gravity for stability and you want to lean/bend your knees to gain speed. You also want to do this so you could pop on the takeoff and get more height.
By 2:33 you're wondering if anyone is actually going to land something.... then the guy drops in at 3:30 and from the run in you can tell its the most steady drop in to the kicker and he lands it!!
The first couple jumps look like Wile E. Coyote trying to catch the roadrunner. All they were missing was the Acme jetpack kit, and they would have cleared it for sure. 🤣
Dude where is this shot? I live in Eldora and this looks like Caribou here nearby in Nederland, Colorado. Where is this? Should you need an extra shooter one day let me know.
okay i've never done any snow sports (being from florida), so I have to ask: how much do these landings hurt? the snow is soft enough to swallow the people, so I assume it's not too bad... edit: 2:00 didn't look exactly comfy...
If the snow is packed in at all, it hurts a whole lot. If its soft and fluffy like the side of that landing its not too bad. Definitely could still hurt if you land weird.
I haven't landed shit so I'll try double back flip it

And you know if it looks that big on film its fucking massive in real life!

I'm not 100% but pretty sure this is Chad's gap.
Exactly, Just like dirtbike jumps. If it looks big on film then it's massive in person. Crazy how that works.

That approach is so sketch. Barely enough time to regain control before the take off. I love it.
amazing to have that much control through the compression and still get the setup right
