With a quippy personality that has garnered laughs just as easily as it has raised eyebrows, she is a force to be reckoned with. Currently on the road with Taylor Swift, she has made headlines as the opening act of the Eras tour, with appearances in Latin America and Australia under her belt. Ahead of her Singapore arrival, where she will once again open for Taylor Swift, here are some things you need to know about Sabrina Carpenter, from her net worth to her new house, as well as her drama and beef with Guts singer Olivia Rodrigo.

I’m so glad we’re getting a pop girlie renaissance, it’s about time. People need to stop comparing Sabrina and Olivia, they both rule

it’s funny that people are criticizing olivia on her lack of growth when her DEBUT album came out in March 2021. when drivers license came out there was no full album she clearly showed that in her music documentary. she was 17 when she wrote dl and barely turned 18 AFTER the album debuted. guts a sophomore album came out in 2023. this girl barely turned 21 maybe 2 weeks ago. i think her talent is out of this world for someone so young and honestly i didn’t give her work a fair shot since i was almost a 23 year old grown ass woman when dl came out and a week ago i listened to sour start to finish it was really solid and honestly timeless. that teenage angst that a young woman expresses can be a very universal experience and she encapsulates it really well.

It seems to be that pop stars are less controlled by agents and record labels than, say, Britney and Christina back in the late '90s. With Britney, Christina, and the lot, their agents were like, "We've already made your new album. All you gotta do is add your vocals. Oh, and act like a Lolita but tell everyone you're waiting until marriage, too." Olivia and Sabrina, though, seem to have more control over their images and music.

sabrina's aesthetic is so cute too! i've started to see tweets quoting random heart/coquette inspired collections during fashion week and saying "oh this looks like something sabrina carpenter would wear" from ppl who arent necessarily her fans

I actually became a fan of Sabrina in high school when I first heard her songs “Sue Me” and “Thumbs” and “Eyes Wide Open.” Four years after I fell in love with Sabrina’s voice and music, “Drivers License” blew up and I fell in love with Olivia because she’s such a talented songwriter and storyteller and she’s great at emoting emotions. When all that drama happened, I was pissed at the Olivia Stans sending Sabrina death threats and I didn’t think either of them did anything wrong. Olivia is allowed to talk about her feelings and experiences and Sabrina is allowed to date someone who is no longer in a relationship and wants to move on. I loved them both and was so pissed about how Sabrina was treated and I was worried about her career. I’m so glad the toxic Stan’s woke up and grew up. As a longtime fan, I love seeing how Sabrina matured and evolved musically. I want to see them both in concert so badly!

The phrase you are looking for in the early minutes - about Olivia’s first album - is “sad bangers”

Sabrina snuck up on me and now I love her. If you do more music fandom videos Carly Rae Jepsen fandom is so fun and super dedicated. She’s an icon

Video-essayst fan and girl-dad here...I knew very little about Olivia Rodrigo when my girls started listening to her (2-3 years ago, maybe?)...and mind you, they're very young. I heard a couple of her songs on radio play and, yeah...not exactly my jam, but certainly great pop by any definition of the word. So when she announced her Guts tour, I did the girl-dad thing and decided to spring for it (not cheap). That concert was played just last week, and I'm not gonna lie...the tween energy from the crowd was UNREAL! My girls absolutely LOVED the entire performance...and while it's probably more the joy of seeing them go ballistic, I came away a fan. One really cool (and probably questionable) thing she did was she went around about a third of the arena to shake hands, take selfies, and even give hugs to fans in the first and second rows. THAT took some real...ahem...guts. It definitely kept her super-fans wanting more. 10 out of 10, would recommend. Oh...another interesting fact, both the opening act (for us it was Chappell Roan) and her band/dancers were ALL women! Only the roadies had a few men on the team.

I’ve been listening to Sabrina’s music for over 10 years now and she deserves the recognition she’s getting so so much. I also wanted to add that I think branding herself very subtly as this “hyper sexual/feminine” woman, was such a smart way of regaining her own narrative after being labeled a slut by the entire public and industry. I’m amazed by how professional and strong she has been through all of this.

  • @leahhoward4821

i love sabrina since "you can't blame a girl for trying" also her song "why" is just so good

  • @mediaconsumer7468

I agree. Women shouldn’t have to change their sound or aesthetic with every new album.

  • @JamieLimbaga

the way I SCREAMED when you name dropped Chappell Roan 😭😭💕💕

  • @lisamujo287

I’ve been a Sabrina follower since her run on Girl Meets World and it’s so satisfying to finally see her get her flowers 💐

They really should have called HSMTMTS “Start of Something New”. Total missed opportunity

I’ve been a fan of Sabrina’s since her debut album and was genuinely shocked when this fandom war started. When it comes to Sabrina’s music though I’d say she was still searching for her sound and style. She’s just now finally found it. She’s always had powerful vocals and had an incredible stage presence. I’d been waiting for a more personal album from her for awhile. You could hear though from the Singular act I & II albums that she was getting there. Her music’s always been good in my opinion. It was a matter of time before she blew up to the mainstream. If it hadn’t been for Hollywood Records I feel like she would’ve blown up sooner. I’m glad she’s finally getting her flowers

  • @max23102000

Totally agree with your Chappell Roan point. Going to be seeing her again this year, I'm so excited!

  • @KarmaIsARealThing

the Feather cover at the end is most pleasing

  • @dancebrittany23

Please do more of these fandom deep dives!!
