I think the posh lady in your phone is less helpful than she should be. An accent with harder consonant sounds (especially "R") would make it easier. I have a vanilla nowhere American accent (basically what you mostly hear on TV and movies), so I don't have much issue with English words, but other languages can be a struggle. My friend tried to teach me Russian and we decided that my dumb Midwestern tongue is simply incapable of making some of those sounds.

    Betty Botter bought some butter
But she said the butter’s bitter,
“If I put it in my batter
It will make my batter bitter,
But a bit of better butter
    Will make my batter better.”
So she bought some better butter
    Better than the bitter butter,
And she put it in her batter
And her batter was not bitter,
    So ’twas better Betty Botter
Bought a bit of better butter.

I'm from Central PA my dad & sister live in eastern PA. They claim they can't understand 1/2 of what I say.
But everyone laughs at how I say creek (crick), & Potomac (pot o mac).
Also I recently learned their are 2 seperate D's in Adidas I always called them Addies.

If it's any comfort, Tammy, the late Terry Jones couldn't say "burglary" either ("burgle-ry" is how he pronounced it), and he was Welsh.
And saying "Diagonally" instead of "Diagon Alley" is how Harry bolluxed up traveling by Floo Powder 😉

There's a reason "Diagon Alley" was used in Harry Potter. It's easily confused with "diagonally" so that Harry says it wrong and ends up in Borgin & Burke's. Similarly, "Knockturn Alley" is easily confused with "nocturnally".

Loved the video and I think you eventually got around to saying the words the "dictionary way". Also, I am 100% behind your chocolate policy. Have a great week.

Here in northern Georgia in the U.S., a good portion of us are of Scottish descent. And even though most of us haven't been within a hundred miles of Scotland in the last 300 years, we can't pronounce "LY' or "RY' words easily. I tend to repeat those syllables at the end of the word when I try to say them. Our mouths are just not meant to say those words. And I don't think I've ever heard anyone say Mohnday....I think everyone pronounces it Munday. Kind of like Wednesday. The only way I can spell it is to think: "Wed-Ness_Day", but no one says it like that. Have a good day, Tam! Guess it's getting to that time of the month again. Stock up on the coffee and chocolate!

    I knew it wasn’t
Diagon Alley but I have always thought of Diagon Alley when I hear or see the word “diagonally”. Btw you are ridiculously adorable!

Trick I've learnt for burglar and burglary is to change the A to a U when pronouncing it so its "Burglur" and "Burglury" once you get that down you swap the A back in and it's so much easier.
