Virtual Assistants have their own contract to work with.
I would never agree to work under a different contract than the one my lawyer wrote for me.
About time tracking, in my opinion, here no one would install Hubstaff, because they are freelancers, not employees.

Great nuggets of information. I'm trying to shift into a VA WFH setup as I come from an office environment. This is a nice insight on what clients would want in a VA. Although I'm not particularly warm with clients tracking me hourly as I prefer fixed rates or output-based fees since I am a Graphic Designer.
Anyhow, I'm still searching for potential VA jobs that's inline with my skills and I appreciate the detailed information in your video. :)

Exactly. He’s promoting participation in modern day slavery. Federal minimum wage in the US is about $7.50 and higher depending on the state a person lives in. You’re a business helping another business (his) to make tons of money. They should pay you a decent wage. And then at the beginning of the video he wants to micromanage the VA he’s paying $3/hr to?!? This man is a joke and an embarrassment.

It’s so hard getting a virtual assistant job, and I’m very good at it. I came here for tips because I can’t seem to break that chain of being dependent on my parents. It’s worse right now because I can’t even work a physical job. I had one job working as a server before but I quit because I couldn’t afford a baby sitter and I don’t trust my parents with my daughter. I know what I went through in the hands of my dad but I don’t want her to go through the same thing even though I’m already seeing some of that aggression towards her. When I felt hopeless, I almost killed myself (please don’t judge me). Thank God I didn’t do it though. I even tried being a virtual assistant for businesses, because I am a fast learner, I’m creative, and I’m good with words, after few months of not getting any gig, I don’t know what else to do. I only charge 150 dollars per month and I still couldn’t get a gig. I feel trapped. All I do with my life is take care of my daughter, do house work for my parents, eat free food, and sleep under free shelter. I’m not lazy but I cannot risk leaving my daughter for even a day for a physical job!! I’m miserable but I’m glad I’m alive with my daughter.

you can also hire VAs from North Africa like Morocco or Algeria; they speak good English and French, and they are also cheap.

My problem with hiring people for such a low rate in the Phillipines is that they aren't being charged what they're worth. I know some people who do this work over there who have complained about the low amount they make, but because so many people accept that rate they feel like they can't raise their rates.

It is possible maybe for some things but I wouldn't recommend it. As the owner, you should still be the one making the high level decisions

Yes, I would hold Zooms for interviews and I would describe the job as also have them ask any questions they have. The first question I always ask is if they are employed. One of the VA’s said that she had to take her mom to the ER and never showed or emailed.

I'll call my VA's "VIP Assistants" or "Vital Assistants" or some cheesy shit like that cause I just can't bring myself to refer to a human person as "virtual".....but I get it, standard industry language. 3$ was an ok salary 6-8years ago.
with todays inflation everything is expensive even onion costs $11 per kilo! imagine?! HMO, SSS, pagibig is not even covered how are they supposed to take care of themselves when they're old, yes it's convenient to work under you but with so much workload do you honestly believe this salary is fair? instead of basically telling your subs to exploit Filipinos why not give them what they are worth.
@@baryamanila I could be wrong but a lot of them post their own prices. For example, I connected with a VA from Kenya and she only charges $5/hour. I'm assuming that the cost of living is cheaper there, and the tasks are minimal.

After using Virtual assistant services for some time, I've realized that hourly rates are draining my budget and productivity.
It's frustrating to see inflated hours when the tasks can be completed efficiently in less time.
