Not trying to be that guy but your Polka was actually a Waltz:
Polka is in 2/4= Uf ta uf ta
Waltz is in 3/4= Uf ta ta uf ta ta
Genuine question-can a waltz not be in the polka style? I was under the impression that polka was a genre of music, kinda like punk or jazz. And either of those being in 3 wouldn't make them not punk or jazz, it could be a jazz waltz, but it's still jazz. Is being in two such a main part of polka that it isn't polka if it isn't in two?
@@caleblittler1194 I'm not an expert but Polka and Waltz are traditional dances with fixed steps so you cant just change the time signature without screwing up the dance. So Yes, it is vital for a Waltz to be in 3 and for a Polka to be in 2. Jazz Waltzes are still in 3 but played swung

@@prestonshaw5391 You are absolutely right! I was refering to Jazz Waltzes and regular Waltzes; I think the main difference is if they are swung or not. At least I cant think of a straight Jazz Waltz and I have never played one.
