@@yunarukami14 to put it simply, the mixolydian scale is a normal major scale with a minor seventh, if you raise the seventh of that scale to a natural seventh, it isn't mixolydian anymore but a normal natural major scale (ionian if you consider it as a mode)
Genuine question-can a waltz not be in the polka style? I was under the impression that polka was a genre of music, kinda like punk or jazz. And either of those being in 3 wouldn't make them not punk or jazz, it could be a jazz waltz, but it's still jazz. Is being in two such a main part of polka that it isn't polka if it isn't in two?
@@caleblittler1194 I'm not an expert but Polka and Waltz are traditional dances with fixed steps so you cant just change the time signature without screwing up the dance. So Yes, it is vital for a Waltz to be in 3 and for a Polka to be in 2. Jazz Waltzes are still in 3 but played swung
