Yes, amd is not compatible with dx11 renderer for gothic. Buy nvidia as your next gpu. Amd is just bad in overall. Overheating and many compatibility issues, in many games sadly.

I played first Gothic 2, then G1 and then G2 again. One of my favourite games. But be aware of mods. Some of them destroy the feeling that made the game unique.
I only bought Gothic 1 and 2 with Night of the Raven DLC a year ago, but I have to tell you, it's totally worth it. Those games are amazing, Gothic 2 especially, although 1 is a great, great, great game as well. I highly recommend those games, even for today's gamers. I've never seen such well developed characters, world and story in any other games, honestly, I'd say Gothics 1 and 2 have a better story than the Witchers, and that's saying something.

Dude, returning 2.0 came out a couple of years ago. So you can go play right now. Now the developer of the mod creates an addon, which will be completed in 2019-2020. And yes, there will be no new patches for a couple of years. Sorry for my english, I used google translator :)

Is there a way to enable screenshots in Gothic 2? Like in Settings or in some directory .ini document or something? Something which would enable quick screenshots(as in not PrintScreen and then Paste into Paint, that takes too much time) and which would save screenshots automatically in the game directory or some other folder?
Nice graphics, makes that great old game shine once again. What it desperately is in need of though, are state of the art controls. If they would only upgrade the inventory and the mouse sensitivity to match todays hardware, it would be perfect.

the graphics are the best in this mod, better than l'hiver for sure but I can't stand all the new mechanics in the game + increased difficulty which make it not the best mod for me sadly :'(

Can´t understand ppl giving the idea of playing returning in english is fun...the translation is simply broken...like this: "Peasant wine is very afraid of the night will come to the farm and the orc will kill him so he can not sleep." "Xardas said that i have a meeting of the guardian, but only when the time comes." Most quests dialog are like that. They simply are google translated Sure if u played gothic 2 loads of times and looking for something to change the gameplay alot and add alot of content sure...but any semi intrested player i think will have a hard time accept this unpolished translation.
I personally find it boring as it adds completely spin-off story, and focuses on va (which is no doubts great) mostly, not adding something interesting in gameplay. Nothing can beat Returning, objectively.
Sinitar Gaming I'm personally hyped for it,probably because it's polish and well I'm polish.I grew up playing Gothic games and listening to the amazing voice actors,and this mod has professional voice acting with original actors from Gothic 1 and 2.
Well then obviously you're hyped haha. But once again, even if it wod be in Ukrainian (my language), it would be same boring for me. If you'll play Returning once, you'll never be able to look on any mods. Returning is simply superior to them all.

I honestly think that Gothic 2 is at its best in vanilla cause ultra graphics mods just remove the nostalgic feeling of the world and really remind me of Gothic 3 which wasn't a particularly great game.

But I'm a guy who grew up with broken games like Ultima Ascension and loved it, even though I couldn't complete the damn game without cheating due to all the bugs=). i played all gothic, risen and elex things that are out there. let´s not talk about the gothic 4 fake thing, i´ve never played that one. without the community patch i hated to proceed in gothic 3 and ended up killing every humanoid in every town because i was frustrated. with the community patch couple years later i loved it.

I just had this dream with my best friend to explore the world of Gothic together. And there were some attempts to make somthing like a co-op. But probably you're right and its technically impossible.
Yeah, there are a few mp server out there. Mostly heavy roleplaying ones. There is also a capture the flag server, which is quite fun, but there are not many players on this one.
Hold your horses boys and girls, the Returning mod is in Russian and doesnt allow you to leave your original language version of the game. Sure, there are English susbtitles but imho it does kill all the joy listening to your favourite voiceover.

Bought this game and there's no real explanation video of how to make it work without issues. I have windows 8.1. I've searched around and i've tried some fixes. Doesn't work. Kinda dissapointed to come back to this after 11 years of not playing it.
Nice graphics but I'm not sure I want whatever mod ruined the architecture. I prefer my whitewashed plastered buildings over everything being made of stone and ugly horizontal wooden planks. Not a fan of the stolen witcher assets either.
It's just engine, it's 15 years old man, there was no 60 fps that days, and so it technically has no ability to play at real 60 fps (while my counter showed me 120 :D)

If you have amd gpu, that happens often. If nvidia, just be surr it supports dx11. No other reasons.
