They're too round, definitely prefer the triangles. Seems like with the triangles basically any shape looks cool but these are kinda meh.

Ive just started researching these kinds of lights for an accent wall. I appreciated the tip that they are not evenly lit and I agree the rounded edges look horrible. May go with the triangles or squares since I could see the triangles on your wall. Thanks for the video.

What design do you use for your triangle pannels?
It’s unevenly lit because of your light strips on the side of your desk. i have a both hexagon and triangles and they work really well together.
Can I use them for my ceiling? I mean to put them in my bedroom, like four boxes of 8, it is really bright as a light bulb? apart in all corners i will put rgb leds light

Haha thanks! I got sent some nanoleaf alternatives by a company a while back and they sorta sucked so I pretty much told everyone not to buy them... Didn't hear from that company again 🤣 Yeah if a product is good I'll say so but I'll not recommend something if I'm not happy with it myself. Honesty is always best 👍

Yo tech I just picked up a plasma ball as a headphone stand it looks insane I just put a cheap pair of headphones on it I wouldn't put my expensive pair on it because it puts strain on the head band you should look in to that it's a awesome future in my setup.

I know it would be a lot of extra effort but since you compared these a lot to the triangle ones, it would have been nice if you showed us the pieces of the triangle ones too. So that we could the differences between the sets (like what was more sturdy or what was more convenient, stuff like that). Just wanted to give a possible tip if and when doing future comparisons between older and newer versions of stuff.
HEY idea: if you still have those square shaped nanos you could set them in the roof of the room like a nice parttern
Problem 1 with that is the insane cost of something like that
Problem 2 is that the adhesive might not be strong enough to hold them from an upside down position as apposed to just hanging from a wall and having friction help the holding effect
Problem 3 Unless his has smooth ceilings, it won't won't unless he remodels. Many people have "popcorn" ceilings

My brain was thinking so hard if I should get these or not. I pulled the trigger anyway since here in the Philippines they are selling the Nanoleaf Hexagon Starter Set for only $160 (original seller). I was going with Govee, but those are more expensive here and incredibly hard to find.
IMO I think you should return those and get the mini triangle ones and make a cute design

Good video although the hexagons do look a bit small - keep them for a while, they may grow on you.
I think you missed some key features of the shapes. you didn't mention the interactive touch games like Simon which is pretty cool. The shape panels are able to function as touch controls. im able to double tap a panel to activate a homekit scene. I'm able to turn on and turn off most of the items in my game room just by pressing shapes panels

I agree with you, I don't like how they look. They don't look circular enough, *or* hexagonal enough; somewhere in between and mushy.
I have two starter kits of the new hexagons and they did not pre apply my stickers to the backs I call bs
You have the newest, most expensive, futuristic equipment....and it’s chillin on carpet. You should rip that carpet up, sand down the base and dump epoxy in that bad boy! The reflection of the lights on the ground would be 👌👌 it’d look like a real lair!
My only arguement is that fact that you can connect multiple shapes to make it look more appealing but that sucks that the light at a dim setting looks cheap for how expensive they are

I think these panels depend on your taste, its a love or hate product. I think they look nice, but I dont think they are worth $200+ maybe something like $75 would be more reasonable

I think why these might come across as a fail is that it don’t suit your gaming/office environment. I reckon these are either hallway or front room corner lights. It don’t give off the same ambience as your other lights.

When you said, “ look how bad they look”, I thought you meant because it looks quite phallic when adding that last panel 😂.. Also, I’m not a fan of these, they should have gone with a border all the way round or thicker panels like their competitors, to actually give us hexagons. Overall I think Nanoleaf are overpriced as are hue, even though I’ve got a few rooms plus hallway with them in. I ended up going with Govee for my light strips rather than adding further hue lighting.
