WOW! ❤️ I watched this with my mouth slightly open just in awe of how pretty this ornament was as it took shape. The tucking and pinning I could see doing but I've got to search your videos to see how you drew the lines. Even if I just make one for each of my children and grandchildren I'd be happy ❤️ thank you for sharing this.
Thank you 😊 I have a full tutorial in my shop that will teach you everything about making this ornament, including drawing the lines on any size foam ball. www.etsy.com/listing/230795371

I started following this lady a few years back to learn Kimekomi? She is excellent since I first followed her she has had two babies. I admire her for spending her time with them I’m sure she will come back on here and share all her brilliant talents when the time is right. You can pick up lots of hints and tips still on her page
Thank you so much for your wonderful comment! You are right, my family is my first priority. I'm working on some projects behind the scenes, like updating my website and adding exclusive videos for all my PDF tutorials. It's a lot of work but I'm slowly getting things done. I hope to be back to uploading regular videos to my channel sometime in 2024. Fingers crossed 🤞
Excellent video.
Glad you liked it!
This is my favorite one
I'm so glad :)
Beautiful! Can't wait to try this for my next year's annual ornament! Thanks for the demonistration and instrutions how to measure and mark the styrofoam balls.
You are so welcome!
Beautiful
Thank you! Cheers!
Beautiful, hypnotic- I would need it slowed down a little to actually copy it, especially the marking out bit.👍
If you want to make it yourself I offer a full step-by-step tutorial in my shop.
✨ GRACIAS GRACIAS GRACIAS ✨
You're welcome
Veramente bella questa palla di natale complimenti
Thank you
Wow! Love this, and I also love how you used big pieces of fabric and just cut around the outline after you'd pushed the fabric down. Genius idea! Makes for less cutting of fabric pieces. The batting was an added great idea to make the fabric poofey. Very nice. :)
Yes! Thank you! I also think it creates less fabric waste.
😘😘😘👍
🙏
What are you gluing on first? Is it interfacing? If so is it important or can you glue and fabric on straight away?
It's quilt batting. Timing is not an issue. You can glue the batting, wait for it to dry and then tuck the fabric over later if you want. Just don't get any glue in the grooves.
Hi, I am wondering what "fabric" or product you used for the underlayment that you glued on before putting the decorative fabric on the various sections. If you can let me know, I would greatly appreciate knowing this. Thanks so much.
Quilt batting. I sell a full PDF tutorial for this design, which explains everything. ornamentdesigns.com/shop/p/hrlq
This is so cool! I definetly subscribe! I think this is a good idea to make-and-sell. How much could cost a set of 10 of these?
Thanks for subbing! I can't advise you on cost.
OMG this is AMAZING!!! A few hours a ball to make! How much would you sell this a ball?!
In my experience, they usually won't go for more than $20 at the typical neighborhood craft fair in the USA. I stopped selling finished ornaments after I had children and my time became more valuable.
How did u draw at the very beginning right geometric rhombus all over sphere ball?? I can’t understand how to draw it🥺 please help
Full instructions are available for purchase in my shop. www.etsy.com/listing/230795371
Fellow crafter here, wondering what is the name brand of that stick of glue you're dipping your needle into? Thank you and Merry Christmas. ☃🎄🎉
Check out the supplies list on my website to see details about everything I use. ornamentdesigns.com/tools-and-materials
Very pretty but is there a guide for drawing the lines?
The full tutorial is available in my shop. ornamentdesigns.etsy.com
Thank you!
Can you use a felting needle for this?
The needle needs to be smooth so the fabric doesn't catch on the needle. From what I know about felting needles they are barbed. So. no I don't think you can use a felting needle for kimekomi.
What type/name of the yellow glue you are using for the cord?
Ornament Designs
It's an alcohol-based, clear & quick dry, wrinkle-free (when used on paper) formula. It's made by Tombo. I'm not sure if they sell it outside of Japan. Any glue stick should work fine as long as it dries clear.
What tool are you using for tucking in your fabric?
An upholstery needle.
From where did you get the fabric and what is neam it's, please
I think it's Timeless Treasures. I bought it several years ago from Thousands of Bolts.
Where do you find your cutting and tucking tool?
I live in Japan, and so I bought them locally. For cutting I use a slim type retractable knife (aka box cutter) with auto-lock. For tucking I use an upholstery needle. You can easily find similar items on Amazon. There are some links in the video description to similar tools to what I use.
What type of glue is in that stick?
It's an alcohol based, clear & quick dry, wrinkle free (when used on paper) formula. However, any glue stick should work fine as long as it dries clear.
How do you make your measurements?
I have a full tutorial for sale in my shop. It will show you how to do the measurements. ornamentdesigns.etsy.com
what’s the size of the ball ?
Sorry for the late reply, I've been on vacation. This is an 8 cm ball but you can make this design on any size ball with my tutorial.
Le palline sono molto belle, ma servirebbe capire come disegnare prima di tutto. Peccato xchè poi la tecnica e facile... Cmq brava!!!
I have a full tutorial that teaches you how to draw the design in my shop. www.etsy.com/listing/230795371
You need to show how you put the design on it first?
I sell the instructions in my Etsy shop. ornamentdesigns.etsy.com
Did you really draw all of that on there and make it straight? Without a pattern, I can't believe somebody can just do that. That's an awful hard thing to draw a pattern like that. And have it all straight and then come back and do what you did
Yes I did! I It's mostly just plotting some points and using a tape measure. I have a tutorial available for purchase if you are interested in learning how to do it.
