  • The audio is not matched to the video whatsoever, and it is from the only known recording of 4460 pulling the Starlight train.
    The video is compiled from the document “Daylights as They Were”, but was shot during her last excursion from Sacramento, CA to Sparks, NV in the end of October 1958. She only had a few days left on her boiler ticket before being retired for good.
    No copyright infringement intended, this is purely for research, on what it would look and sound like if this “famous” GS-6 were to ever run again. All rights reserved to the correct owners.

    4460 looks pretty restorable these days

      One side of it has been exposed to the elements, although it doesn't look like it would be TOO hard to restore

      It’s just the matter of getting it out of the siding is what the museum is worried about. They’ve considered it for restoration, but it would be very time consuming to get all of the equipment behind her out of the way to get to the shop.
