I served with the Canadian Airborne Regiment, as well as teaching skydiving. There's no way I'd get up there, I'm really scared of heights, as strange as that seems.
Indeed that's very strange reckoning one would have overcomed fear of heights having served in the Airborne Regiment. But still respect to you, parachuting is not for the faint of heart.
When people ask why would you jump out of a perfectly good aeroplane i say but is it perfectly good🤷
@@aneedmorehead9006 You’re a funny guy … aren’t you ?
I used to Crew chief on helicopters in the Army, flew doors open all the time, still afraid of heights.
@@arthurhenry8442 It all has to do with the 'vertical cliff'. When you look down from a high building, you see the side of the building all the way to the ground. This gives you the fear, since you know you're high up. When leaving an aircraft, there is no vertical cliff effect. The brain can't register height. The earth is just lying below you, like on a projector. There is no sense of falling in free fall, the earth just slowly gets closer. I loved free fall, it's the only time that no other thought ever enters your mind, you are totally in the moment. I guess you damn well better be, or the landing would be your last!
I can’t believe how calm and relaxed she looks. And very elegant and attractive. Oh.....and bl**dy brave.
she is secured if you see the pole behind her. She is quite safe.
Borley!!!
@@discrete333 So she might be, but it still takes guts to be up that high!! I didn't see any parachute attached to her back even if she is used to skydiving!!
Also she is a sky diving instructor so Id imagine she is no longer afraid of heights.

I don't care how much safety equipment is in place.... I would never do that!!
That raises an interesting hypothetical question. What if there was all the same safety equipment and you were offered $2 million and new pair of pants? How about $5 million? I agree that it would be a tough decision depending on pay.
A billion dollars..... I would have to wear a tripple diaper though....!!!!
@@utubewillyman I honestly don't think I could do it even for five million dollars.

An absolutely tremendous achievement by this lady it's mind blowing. Well done everyone involved with this most memorable advert.

Were you this amazed when Felix jumped from space? Hope so, that took way more effort, resources and achievement.
Was it worth anything
@@DJBillionator
It's true. Safety equipment and procedures can and do fail.
Falling WITH an auto-deployed parachute and 'on board' safety equipment compared to real potential for falling WITHOUT any parachute and no 'on board' safety equipment.
I know which situation I'd prefer to be in.
@@robinorhysrhys1562 just profits for a company of course, as always.
Utterly Ridiculous. Any airline that is so desperate as to put a life in Jeopardy deserves nothing. Ultimate stupidity.
WOW! WOW! WOW! I don't handle heights well and it boggles my mind that ANYONE could do this. Same goes for those that build those buildings! It is truly amazing what humanity is capable of.
Self Control and a nice bonus ....... really nice bonus and free publicity.......
@Ur Achalupa your reply is crazy
@Ur Achalupa killing an embryo is something completely different than killing a full grown person and you never know the reasons why people chose to abort. You think people having an abortion after being raped is crazy?
@Ur Achalupa not from the books you have been reading, that’s for sure.
@Ur Achalupa but if my logic is goofy then yours is criminal.

I'm only impressed when we collide two particles in an accelerator. Because, that takes more effort.

Yes.
Lets not forget 'the team' who went before her to install the safety gear and actually attach it to her.

Working in Burj Khalifa.
Exactly 10 years back I was in the same place experiencing the best ever view.
Wow, I'm impressed, and what safety shoes did you wear. You could be the start an exclusive club, to those that have stood on the tallest building on earth.
You are such a brave woman.
She's got some guts to do that. I'm a painter and had to climb up some seriously high ladders to paint, but this is way beyond what I'd want to do.
No kidding - I’m pushing 70 and need to put a new battery in my smoke alarm on my vaulted ceiling, and I’m seriously considering hiring it done.
@@u4riahsc Good for you. Sensing the change in your own limitations and vulnerability to harm is a good thing. As I get older I know I cannot do the things I used to. I'm seriously considering giving up motorcycling, which tells me I'm getting close. When the day comes when I don't feel comfortable on it, I'll park it and walk away with no regrets.
@@RetNemmoc555 Yeah - a guy at work brought a hover board in the office a few years ago and said, “try it”. I said, “oh hell NO, I can’t afford to fall at my age.” We will live to enjoy our memories. I rode a motorcycle back in the 70s, when I was in my 20s and enjoyed it. People in cars on the road made me quit. I really liked driving in the mountains, but getting from the city to the mountains was a horror.
Once you go passed 20-30 feet you’re probably going to die anyway. The extra height is just longer to think about it on the way down. Just as dead. I’d (probably) be more scared on a shaky 15 foot ladder.
