I had one. The 660cc 16v Twincam Turbo and AWD (yes it had all wheel steering too!) was fast off the lights. Needs wider tires though. I put white Compomotive 14" alloys with 175 tyres on mine to reduce the 4x4 wheel spin off the line! Normally a Japanese Kia car not sold over here they were introduced into the UK in limited numbers (200 I think) to qualify for Rallying! The UK ones (Coure not Mira) were also had an unlimited engine so they're very rare! Always regretted selling mine.
I seen this car on ebay a while ago and was going to buy it! Just found you while searching kei car vids (particularly alto works), subscribed already and can't wait to watch your vids!! I didnt bid/buy this car because it would have been a blind purchase and thought it was probably abused beyond worthwhile salvaging judging by the pics and description. Please do more vids on this I LOVE kei cars! :) from N.Ireland, UK

Still going strong! Afraid I couldn't really tell you much about running costs, though, as it's more of a toy for me. But oil and filter changes are pretty cheap, and there's no cambelt to change.

Well, you don't have to do it at all, it can run in 4WD all the time as there's a viscous coupling on the nose of the differential - but I prefer to have it in 2WD for things like rolling roads where you're only trying to turn one axle.

So with your experience of owner one, would you recommend them, with regards to the issue of obtaining spares for them? I have a chance in obtaining an ex harry hockely rally prepared one and I’m just worried about spares for it! Cheers
I think the spares situation is a valid concern, yes, though I'd imagine you could source most things if you had to, either from abroad or through the forums on the Kei Cars In The Park. The gearbox and transfer box are probably the main "uh oh" items, but as long as they're not terminally bad, it should be possible to rebuild them with new bearings if you can't find one: I'll likely get myself a spare unit to rebuild if I see one come up at the right price. The car is very fun to drive, very much one of those cars which feels like you're going faster than you are. Not totally refined, but if you're looking at a rally prepped one, that's probably not on the table anyway. Those may have a slight power bump too? I'd say as long as the car drives ok and the price is sensible, no reason not to give one a try.

Oh my its famous!! It was absolutely peachy when I sold it about 5 years ago, zero rust anywhere, underneath, inner arches, interior all perfect. I also had a harry hockly ECU on it, but I removed it before I sold it as my friend wanted it for his which is locked in a garage. His hasn't seen daylight or rain since about 2007.
