Thoroughly enjoyable comedy! Made me laugh several times. Thank you for locating this one Arch. I'd be grateful for more like this: more wit, less murder.
Love the cat. Reminds me of my naughty Nemo. Gosh I miss him even though he was a trouble maker. I came home one day and thought that someone had broken into my home. All 20+ kitchen cabinet doors were wide open! However, nothing was missing until I noticed something. The day before I thought I was so clever and would move the cat food where my naughty Nemo would never find it. I shoved it in the very top shelf of the most out-of-the-way cabinet! Once I spotted the 3-inch round hole in the cat food bag, I knew there was no burglar! At least I had shoved the bag in to fit or cat food probably would have been spilled all over. I only caught him once in how he was able to open all the doors! Just like kids, you think you can outsmart them, but to no avail! BTW. I don't think Nemo knew his name was just Nemo, since he was usually called naughty Nemo. My daughter was so proud to tell me, or rather show me how naughty he had been one day when I got home from work. She told me to start in the dining room. Well, so much for the hand-knitted fingerless mittens I was working on with very expensive soft wool. There was a trail of yarn from the dining room to the hallway to upstairs to the upstairs hallway to the master bedroom closet which I swear was closed to keep my knitting safe from Nemo! I found the one mitten almost completely unraveled! If I get another cat as smart (naughty) as Nemo, I'm going to get a camera to record its daily misbehaviors! He did not care one bit when I showed him what was left of my mitten. LOL
Ha ha naughty cat, mine hides behind the microwave in the corner, she can get behind but not get back out, so she keeps pinging the lead until I move it 😅
I left home on my own accord at 18 and my mum and dad promised me they would always keep my bedroom just as it is in case i ever wanted to come home again. I went back to see them 2 weeks later only to find they had turned my bedroom into a new bigger bathroom☹
I loved this book but.for the two "brats" that still want to live with their elderly parents.... It was high time for them to fly the nest.... But I did enjoy and laugh with the "George".... 😊
@@mckavitt13 thank you!. Yes, we all laugh in different ways. Anyway, this channel is an education in itself about writing, acting directing. To get the opportunity to listen to such a broad range of plays recorded over decades is a real privilege.
It's a shame that the photos so rarely have anything to do with the story! A semi detached small bungalow is nothing like a vicarage behind three trees with a lovely garden! The bungalow has a badly paved driveway!
Yes - I hate silly people and although I fully realise this is meant to be a farce / it’s not funny . I’d have thrown them all out in one minute ( maybe not the cat) but I would never throw out my own children however old they were...
Thank you for posting this truly British gem. Very enjoyable.
Another crazy and delightful British comedy!! Thanks so much. 😊

Loved this. Very amusing and entertaining 👏👏
Glad you enjoyed it
Love Barbara Flynn! Hear her far too rarely in audio plays. Many thanks! 👏👏👏
As someone who listened to R4 plays in their 20’s really glad I found this channel. Haven’t heard of Barbara Flynn for years.
Thankyou Arch. For all your work🎉

Delightful. I don’t use that word very much.
How funny , we have just adopted a cat & it will not give my husband 5 mins peace ! Sits on him , follows him everywhere constantly .
The cat is trying to dominate him. He must dominate the cat.
A peaceful Retirement in my mind turned into a complete nightmare! 👏👏👍😊
Brilliant story thanks ❤❤
Absolutely funny!!! Laughed by myself listening. I am retired!! Thanks!!😂
🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂 most enjoyable story. Thank you ❤
Ms Barbara Flynn's Claire reminds me of Dame Patricia Routledge 😊 the way she handles her husband Kenneth with whimsical, cheeky but tough charm
Thank you 😮
Thanks I tried to listen to this but the audio compression made it too difficult to hear for me.
Just about the most ridiculous situation ever. !!
Not in the least bit entertaining or amusing just simply ridiculous.
Well if they take it, I hope they do something with garden...
I’m with Kenneth all the way 😂
“Trevor Bailey!” …oh dear, that did make me laugh.
Ah yes, classic Tms voice.
I haven't laughed so much since my beloved Grandfather's funeral.
JW Suicides I’m not laughing.... moron
JW Suicides I don’t mind your dark sense of humour.

"JW Suicides"?! That title has such sad connotations. I feel bad for you!
@@jwsuicides8095 I heartily agree w you. And am conscientiously aware as I listen. Have a decent Sunday.
What ghastly offspring!
Yes, they are like mine. I would love them to go and give my pocket a rest.

I’m sorry to hear your unhappy. Please send my regards to your family at this sad time for you. Stay strong

I couldn't help thinking of of The Cat Came Back th-cam.com/video/FJl_4IsQJ2g/w-d-xo.html
Cringe making. Absolute bilge.
This is mad! All I have to say.
Witless and predictable. Avoid.

What boring rubbish!
