      Thank you so much for your kind feedback. I really enjoyed making this video and the Kirklees country cafe is my new stop off place for a brew and butty.

      I don't know if you are aware, but Island Lodge is leaking and badly in need of repair. After a long campaign we have now secured £500k form the council to repair the lodge and we have secured an additional initial private investment of £75k to improve the surroundings and accessibility of the lodge to secure its future. Information boards will shortly be erected on the viaduct. We will share this video which is a perfect archive item showing the lodge as it was before the planned remedial work.

      @@johnsouthworth3425 I did read an article about Island lodge but it didn't mention that funding for repairs had been secured, that's great news.

    I recognised a small part of this walk (done on a round walk from Burrs Country Park), but most of it was totally new to me. I do like these old industrial valleys that have returned to nature. There is so much of interest, and a great deal of natural beauty. Lovely film Steve.

      Hi Michael, when you think you have exhausted everything close to home a bit more exploration reveals something new. I've walked around here before but never really delved into the central area properly, it was good to take advantage of those unusually warm days we have had.

    Certainly one to try on a dry Autumnal day. Thank you very enjoyable

      Yes, definitely a dry day, it can get muddy around the inner circle.

    I enjoyed this Steve. I recently walked a couple of very short stretches of another Kirklees Trail, but it's clearly a different one to this. That was a great viaduct on the route. I always enjoy your piano music, very pleasant on the ear. Enjoy your narration too. All the best 👍

      Hi Patrick, of course Kirklees West Yorkshire, so many nice places to visit around there, Beaumont Park is my favourite park with its views across the valley. Thanks for the comments on my music, nice to know its going down alright.

    Good you are still using your drone to film some shots, but very nice views on route. We've visited Kirlees but not via The Valley Nature Trail. Those eggs on sale are often part of the countryside. Wow that slow slinky piano arrangement was absolute pleasure to hear as well as the novelty places along the way.

      Hi Shanita, the Kirklees country cafe was my favourite place, great for a lunch stop. Just purchased a new drone (boys toy) hence its featuring a bit more than normal, just a big kid really. Some places were very muddy with all the rain. Glad you enjoyed my slinky piece, thanks.

      @@lancsway Just curious again. Did you use google maps to display route in film? Very useful. Thanks.

    • @lancsway
      @lancsway  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, I use the Print Screen (prt sc) button to capture the map then add the yellow route lines using a photo editor (Coral Draw).
