I got more attached to this guy than most characters in the story. Nice to have someone not try and talk your ear out and just enjoy vibing on your back.

In the whole game, originally I put 1-2 ziplines, it was expensive and didn't want to spend all time to build. And now I see this... instead I farmed to build the bloody roads :D
If you’re lucky enough to find a network of ziplines through the mountain on PC, be sure to thank it with upgrades/repairs! Spent the last two days doing yearly maintenance on my mountain network! 😂
Roads are awesome, just as much as ziplines. I spent dozens of hours to rebuild them piece by piece sucking dry every settlement I had access to. Only few other people were occasionally donating resources to some autopavers (thankfully, usually they filled the most hungry ones with absolutely absurd demands; honestly, I would likely just abandon them in despair looking at that ridiculous numbers if not for other people donating, so thanks to whoever helped me). When I got access to ziplines I was almost exclusively spending my bandwidth on them building the network between almost all settlements in the mountains and eventually connected it to the South Knot, South Distro through weather station up to the chiral artist's mother. That took absurd amount of time but I am glad I did it. It brings weird satisfaction.
In case you wonder: 0:00 Start -> Travel -> Travel -> Travel -> 5:10 Arrive to the missing Porter to pick them up -> Travel -> Travel -> Travel -> 10:32 Arrival to the drop off lockation. But at least you can enjoy the view of roughly 9 minutes travel, mostly in car and on zipline. 10/10 quality content.
Nice did you set up that zipline yourself or was it a server wide effort? I hope the server I ported into has roads that are fully completed building roads by myself sucked!
All the ziplines are mine, they span the entire mountain. A pain to set up but once done you never have to worry about the mountains again. As for roads I’m pretty sure players can help you to a point I think maybe half way with resources but from there you’re on your own, you have to be the person to finish it and press the button as in roads won’t just end up constructed by themselves. There is one random bit up the mountain thats built by itself but thats in game the moment you start.

It was amazing watching you use them to rescue this guy though! I saw somebody went ham with the jump ramps in the mountains too like everywhere you turn there was another jump ramp!
You could probably make a jump ramp network as you don’t need vehicles to do the extreme stuff, if Sam runs off of it and you jump the do the X extreme thing you fly for a decent amount of distance. Especially as they eradicate fall damage too. There’s been some funny business with the jump ramps though, some people have set them up near VOG pits and its so perfect that you land smack bang in the middle. And one that nearly jumps you off the waterfall but doesn’t so if you land without the otter hood on you’re dead 💀
Yeah, I remember having to do most the roads that lead to Mountain Knot myself, Can't wait to eventually get this version of DS, when PS5s are easier to find in like 30 years.
Loved this game, just wish the fighting was better... and an coop function was added, imagine chiling with a friend in the car, bike, truck... running together, delivering packages, fighting those shadows or people... lost potential if you ask me.
Coop features will ruin Sam's character and the core of the game, he has a phobia connecting with people and he did not want to join with UCA even during the ending. The theme about this game is about loneliness and connection.

The online features in this game only allow other players' items appeared in your world but not themselves. Is to remind you that you are not alone in this journey, but you have to open the path by yourself.
I saved the shit outta this man! I won’t ever forget this mission. It was nice helping another fellow porter out! The man is on the verge of death and still had enough strength to govern Sam another like 👍
I believe I tried that when I first recorded this and the plan was to have a bunch of zip lines going through there but I couldn’t get it to work. So I just built onto my one and plus the car… man I love that car.
@paulina dare Honestly, I just wanted more animals and "natural disasters". You never see a deer or bird past the intro scene, and I could be wrong, but I don't recall seeing any wildlife beyond the Cryptobiote's in the game. The level where you deliver packages up a mountain whilst boulders roll towards you was literally my favorite moment in the game

Absolutely worth $10. The animal idea would be really cool, little glimmer of hope of a deer then timefall rolls in and it just rots away and dies before your eyes. That’d be super creepy. And crows dropping out the sky too.
Whilst I appreciate all the new features/content they added - all this game really needed, in order to be a completely fresh experience, was a physics overhaul (or, y'know, just any actual physics would have been nice). From day 1 I was baffled why a solid physics engine was not only not prioritised, but entirely neglected. I would have loved to see some kind of "Mudrunner-lite" flavour in this game. Ah well.

There was definitely room for the vehicle handling to be improved, but I think the clunkiness was intentional on _some_ level, you're only supposed to use vehicles when the terrain allows it.

I was exaggerating when I implied that the game has no physics at all - obviously it has physics, they're just severely lacking, particularly with vehicles. I don't understand how anyone can have played death stranding, driving trucks on slopes, or the reverse trike on anything other than a flat, clean surface, and not notice that the physics are a mess... I mean, just search 'death stranding physics' and you will see countless examples, I'm sure. Again, I'm not hating on the game - it's one of my all time favourites. It just seemed like an oversight to me to not put resources into tweaking the physics of the engine. HZD didn't need to worry about so much about believable momentum, ground friction, vehicle weight etc. due to the nature of the gameplay being tight, light, action focused. But DS, in my opinion, would have greatly benefitted from grounded, believable, weighty physics.

I had two mule drivers with both of there vehicles parked sideways on the top of the road 😆🤣😂 I was like who does that 😳 a smart enemy. I dislike Mules they were waiting for me !!!! Thats my least favorite camp other then the one by the Volcanoe and tar pit those Mules are mean and dangerous with plenty of ammunition. I always have trouble with that one.

Don't be fooled, the content offered is so negligable. It's not worth buying again for half-assed content and a race track. It's not a directors cut, it's DLC.

Notice how this is ONLY being offered on the PS5 for example... with no hope in sight for it to be released on PC or even PS4 later down the road?? And this is cuz they wanna keep pushing PS5 sales. So we don't know if Kojima already had this in the works & "held it back", or... if he had to come up w/new sh*t on the fly, cuz Sony asked him for it. You get it from the Fragile express racetrack, south of the timefall farm. It is exclusive to directors cut and you should get an email about rebuilding it.
This is unique to directors cut but to unlock this in directors cut your first stop must be to unlock buddy bot at the distribution center south of lake knot city, then you must go to mountain knot to save the Porter from the mountains then after that you go to the Distribution Center North of Mountain Knot and get this mission.

I don't like ziplines. Once you stomp paths in the mountains, it becomes easy to ride between destinations. And vibes of hiking and driving are there.

There’s the race track and firing range. The facility mission (MGS reference from the trailer) kind of does but not really. Still pretty cool.
