If anyone still has this pressure cooker and is looking for a solution. You are NOT supposed to use the pressure cooker lid for slow cooking. You use the glass top with the steam vents. You could technically use the pressure cooker top but definitely don't seal it.
ANSWER: it seems, Sous vide and steam and slow cook DO NOT need to have the lid sealed and locked. There is no pressure needed for these. If ya think about it, you don't on the stove top either. lol. I was about to toss mine from just frustration alone. ESPECIALLY, because I wanted to start cooking the Egg bites like StarBucks. omg so good.
I came here cause I thought u had the solution, but I fixed it, apparently ur not supposed to line it up in the front when steaming or slow cooking, there’s a drip pan in the back the lid has to align with for steaming, n it will b off in the front but it’s working

Same problem bought a new seal and still the lid is loose even when locked down. That is what causing the lid error. Anyone know how to fix this ? Presser cooking...
(SOLUTION) wtf 😳???,,,Hey everyone there isn’t anything wrong 😑 with your power quick pot,the black top is only used for pressure cooking 🧑🍳, if you want to steam cook or anything else you have to use the glass top that comes with it…NOTHING IS WRONG WITH YOUR POWER QUICK POT…THATS HOW IT IS BY DEFAULT..if you want to use the black lid go on the pressure cooking setting,.the difference between pressure cooking and steam cooking is only the amount of time it takes to cook…pressure cooking(2-6 mins) is shorter time from steam cooking (25mins),If you want to use the black lid press pressure button and choose from the menu,,not steam…HOPE THIS HELPS
The lid is only used as a airlock,that’s what pressure cooking is… Steam cooking doesn’t require air-locking that’s why the glass pot cover with a hole came with it..

I have the same one, just figured out my problem might help you, around the lid where it would make a “seal” make sure there isn’t anything in the way (I had an elbow noodle stuck in there)the lid being off just a little will make it not work hope it helps
