An amazing video. Your children will grow up fit happy and strong and with a will to explore the world. I remember so well our parents taking me and my three siblings on adventures and camping trips and how much that has influenced our lives. Mike you are doing the same.
yea mate, our kids are legit fit, happy as doing long walks, they love tramping, but it's always a challenge for us to find a tramp with Soph's knee after 2 knee surgeries, most huts are up in the hills. It's a flippin awesome life style, we love it.
Yea living the dream Tom... Getting a lot colder now though we are in one of the colder parts of New Zealand now, where day time highs sometimes don't go above freezing... I've picked up a bit of work to make some $$$ so hopefully we'll see some snow and Ice while we are here
Impressed with the amazing job you did portraying Central Otago Mike. Many of my holidays have been in Central and we enjoyed reminiscing over the places you visited.
Thanks Mike for the great footage, this is one of my favourite parts of the country, just beautiful and love the autumn colours, makes me homesick for the south. You my need to make a trip back there in winter, its just magical as well! Central Otago is one place that highlights all the seasons beautifully
Thanks team Kawerau... That lake was actually a lot warmer than some of the other places we've swam... Beautiful scenary as always, good old South Island.
Another great video! Really cool to see more of the rail trail. I'm going to be living in central soon and can't wait! These videos will be so awesome for your kids to look back on one day.
Awww thanks we do from time to time look back on the videos already, going to be awesome when the kids have kids 😎... live central Otago a great spot looking forward to going again in the summer
We've just done a lot of this. We stayed at St Bathans in the Domain and did the walk to the hotel and the lake. We loved that place! We also rode two sections of the rail trail and absolutely loved the area. We will be back for sure. Every time we are near water now I say "Mike and his kids would swim here".
hello fam!!!! poor tobes didnt wana leave grandma & 7 grandpa,, hes the best! i love how u and soph share the responsibility ( 1 drives 1 takes the kids) so the kids get to see all the epic stuff,, this is y u guys r so awesome!!! both girl r so great talkin on camera.... glad sophs knee is good enough to bike that far...... dessert bribery!!!!!!!!!!!!lol epic haha... dude that lil shot u got of toby smiling over his dessert was so freekin funny toby is the man i literally lol'ed ... beautiful episode mike.. see yah soon
Yea he's done 13km before, 10km is still a long way, he was happy at the back picking up sticks.. He did run to the truck when we saw it lol... That sunset was pretty epic alrright.
*oh Mike you and that phone haha. I love it when we go down roads like that, wife doesn't😂. We walk the old railway by us, runs right through the Peak District National Park, the tunnels are ace*
Thanks Mike great video and editing work. That area is just fabulous, like most of central Otago. Butchers Dam has quite a bit of history especially with the man that had escaped from china 👍
Awww thank you so much, TH-cam seems to be giving this video a little nudge in the right direction, we got 2x as many views for the first day and about 50 new Subscribers which is way more than usual. Come on TH-cam, recommend our video.
Great video. Thank you. We are heading there early next year so appreciated your suggestions, took notes!! Do you mind sharing your camera equipment please
Hey mate, your welcome, and I have the most basic camera set up, because good gear is expensive, if this channel ever grows massive I'd be keen on getting some good stuff, but, I literally have a gopro 10 and a Diji mini 2 drone thats all i use.
Its so awesome down here... I feel like I have so many videos to make, ones I really can't wait to make because the scenary just is unreal... Just been on an overnight tramp. Camped out at Lake Ohau, so many cool places.
we did see one couple and a family, I think biking to the Guardian post. But otherwise pretty quiet I was expecting to see a few more people around. It's a very long trail I'm not even sure where it starts these days. I think they are making the trails connect up all the way to the coast.
@@leopardsgowild personally I think that drive is one of the best in NZ, but it's called the track of a thousand gates for a reason 😂😂 And interesting to see where they found gold through there.
*i would stick nuts on it and watch the squirrels kill it on the ninja line.....also I dont recommend catching kids with nets, takes some explaining in court 😅*

Yea we want to see the hoar frost and some frozen ponds lol we'restaying in the area for a bit. thanks for watching glad you enjoyed it.
What a cool family! This is the first time I've seen your channel. I love road tripping, and the Otago area is stunning.
Welcome campervan chick. Man have we had some adventures... can I recommend the cascade creek Milford rd video my absolute favourite
Lovely part of NZ, always drawn down that way. Loved the video, cheers guys
cheers mate, its a pretty unique part of Nz I enjoyed the lack of wind or even breeze while we there... I know it does get windy though.
Mike you have done it again amazing photography thanks. And another swim for all lol

Great footage. Well done Toby. Hope you enjoyed desert. Thanks for sharing 😊
He def enjoyed his pudding... He gets a bit tired and starts going at his own speed picking up sticks etc... He always wants to go on walks though.

Stunning time-lapse of a sunset Mike. Glad to see Toby got his reward. That must have been a long day for him.

The phone is still not working properly... Rail way lines need to make a comeback in NZ... The trucks are ruining our
roads...

Such a nice area alright. I hope we get back there in the summer time when it's in the mid 30's all those swimming spots will be perfect
@@leopardsgowild this summer was certainly like that but downside of course it’s also a lot busier 👍
Ha ha, I was fooled into that very goat track you took to Lauder too!

I think someone needs a tough case for their phone.
man do i ever... So I had to post it back because the repair failed and My phone wouldn't charge, so I ended up without it for another 8 days...
😂💯
Look how they spelt Length on the DOC sign for tunnel no 13 😂
lol Lenght... good observation.
From Omakau there is sort of a straight line drive to wanaka BUT its not a caravan road 😂 fantastic drive though.
Yea I Saw there was a bit of an off road track to get ya over the hill, prob still be quicker to drive the road though aye?
