The best sounding group is her own - starting at 5:43. Listen to how smooth and natural her bass is when she's playing the pure Funk groove she prefers. Juna sounds great on the other material but here... she is outstanding. The next cuts with her band are the same thing repeated. I'm betting it didn't take long for the word to get out there was a new Funk Sheriff in town...

Damn, Juna, I was just in NYC! You have to give more notice! I am a guitarist, residing in upstate N.Y. A few weeks ago, at a local open mic, I got a bunch of people up on the stage with me, and convinced them to play "Boogie Oogie Oogie". It didn't go too bad. Stay safe. Happy travels.
Sorry to see Juna leave the Tokyo Groove Jyoshi. The girl playing the Shamisen is pretty talented. Very unique to include this traditional instrument in jazz / funk. I hope they continue to include that in future performances.
can't do it. guitar, piano, sure. Paul McCartney's got nothing on Juna. i can never seem to match the tempo of the bass with the melody of singing unless the bass line and vocal are identical. i've written for that, but i can't play bass on most of the songs i wrote; and play the bass "well" at the same time. absolutely marvelous she is!
