      @@jaimefish173 I remember that, she really needs someone else to motivate her, oh sure, she's a really good basketball player but I don't think of her as a leader, really kind of an introvert. CC shares the ball. She is a team player. CC knows the other teams are watching her pass and trying to stop her. Now AB is becoming a good passer. The more players that can extend their skills the more successful the team will be.

      Sometimes AB passes too quickly when she gets the ball in the paint. She should look to drive to basket first, then dish to open shooters if D collapses to her. Overall though, no one is going to want the play Fever in playoffs!!!😂😂😂

    I believe that the rest of the team is starting to pass the ball because they see CC not being selfish for points. She passes, they score. They begin to see that and believe that they can pass and others score. As the Fever become a team rather than 5 players, we are seeing what passing and assists can do. TRANSITION! Turns out, CC is averaging 54 points generated per game compared to Wilson’s average of 44 points per game generated from those three stats. @NADRIPmusic 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@snave59 While that's true as a default conventional wisdom statement, I believe that free agency could actually work strongly in the Fever's favor. If I was a player, and I saw all the attention CC is getting from fans, and how that attention is also given to her teammates, I would seriously think about playing on the same team as CC in other to up my brand and popularity. Consider that a host of Fever players were in really high in fan votes that is a requirement to be All-Star eligible. CC & AB were both top 3, with the top 10 being automatic All-Stars. Do you think AB would have been top 3 if not for being a teammate of CC? Kate Martin, CC's Iowa teammate, was #12. 17 Nalyssa Smith, 18 Kelsey Mitchell, 27 Temi Fagbeni, 29 Katie Lou Samuelson. This kind of popular support also helps players get endorsements, not to mention CC has the best endorsement connections in the league. And the Indiana training facilities are still basically brand new, top of the line, easy commute, relatively low cost of living. Plus central location for travel and Indiana gets the best private jets in the league, because CC gets them. And, of course, the Fever will now be a perennial playoff team with good chances to progress and even win it all and that's also bonus money free agents can benefit from. Overall, if I was a free agent being offered a max contract by multiple teams, and wanted to find the place where I'd help my career the most, I'd go the team CC is on, where I'd get wide open looks all day, become massively more popular, and would have the best chance to grow my endorsement revenues. In fact, I'd be fighting for that spot. And I think the free agents will be. I'd even play for the league minimum because I'd make it back easily in promotions and endorsements. I think the Fever will have to beat them off with a stick.

    • @JE-IC
      @JE-IC 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@snave59 yes, free agency can throw a wrench in things for a team. As Kelsey said, she'll have to make the best choice for herself, personally. We all know teams aren't really loyal to their players - trades can pull the rug out from under a player. I support Kelsey, whatever decision she decides to make.
      Players reaching free agency have a lot of things to consider - pay, the team's ability to take them into championships, support from fans (jersey sales, butts in seats, community appearances), whether games are televised, whether they like the coach, how they feel about teammates, what city they want to live in for personal reasons, etc.

      You say the final piece, like they were on a good trajectory before. No! They had the worst record in the league, the players were selfish and/or unschooled in team play. Players didn't look for or expect passes. CC got credited for turnovers. Now they are looking for, and making passes. The CC effect is real.

      @harmen9 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      CC's effect on the team will make Sides *appear* to be a capable coach. Sides reigning in Clark, mismanaging timeouts and substitutions, blaming players when asked about her errors, and blowing leads multiple times are all signs of a bad coach.

      First, it was just getting the players with high skills. Now that they have that and a consistent coaching staff (in terms of personnel, not necessarily quality or play style 😂), the improvement can now be through team play. That's the "final piece".

And I love your disclaimer that you enjoy dissecting the plays that Aliyah and Caitlin make every single night and need to instantly recognize "good to great" decisions in their assists, bringing their team mates along for the ride so they can get better, just like the Chicago Bulls did not start winning championships until MJ made Pippen and the rest of teammates better! As for Boston, I noticed at the beginning of the season, Boston was the onl yone that caught on to what Clark was doing, where she started improving. At the beging of the season, the other team mates, they seem startled that Clark passed to them. Clark is bringing out the best in all the players and in fact, I feel they’re really getting motivated and doing better for they’re now becoming a team. Caitlin has made all her team mates better. I have no doubt that Boston, Mitchell, Hull would not be looking as good without Clark. It’s not that they don’t have talent, it’s that no other players in the WNBA are as selfless as Clark and would be finding them when they get open like Clark does. Especially Mitchell on another team she’d be standing on the perimeter waiting for a pass that never comes or hogging the ball.

      It's no surprise to Iowa fans. She's been doing it for years. It's likely that many very good players played their whole career focussing on what they could achieve, and never got much recognition. Caitlin focusses on what the team can achieve - and in the process became a phenomenal player. I love Hannah Stuelke - I have the 'Alright, stop! Hannah time' t-shirt from Raygun - but I don't see her getting 47 points in the game against Penn State unless i) Caitlin had built her into and outstanding player over 2 seasons by giving her assists from the Magician's Cabinet, and ii) Caitlin didn't realise what's on and give Hannah all the help possible to get a record. Hannah's expression afterwards was slightly 'How'd I do that?' bemused (she's such a sweetie) and *that* is another facet of the Clark Effect.
