    Before the break Mitchell viewed Clark as her competition.. Clark is smart, she feeds Mitchell and lets her be high scorer, now all of a sudden Mitchell feels her worth and wants to play with Clark because she knows if she can get open Clark will feed her.. Clark has made all the players on the team feel their worth, this is what turned the team around.. When you feel your worth to a team you play harder and better.. Notice how Clark would pass instead of shoot, this is done on purpose to spread the worth around.. Clark will put any and all players on the front page and in the spotlight.. If she didn't then some would resent her and call her a glory hound, that would be bad for team moral.. She is smart and will make hero's with all the players.. I have said it before, Lexi is a bundle of energy, she sprints to both ends 100% output all the time and if given a chance can shoot and on defense is relentless in their face..

      Well said. Those are the characteristics of a natural leader. CC22 has led this team to be better than they should be. We don't know what goes on behind the scenes with Christie Sides but it is my belief that she also has something to do with the developing team dynamic. I give credit to both CC22 and Coach Sides for the improved harmony of the team, especially since the Olympic break.

      @@outsidethegarden Sides said something in postgame media to the effect that the players are making her look like a good coach. • @outsidethegarden
      @outsidethegarden 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@cathygregory3443 DAMN I hope so. Sides seems like a VERY slow learner -- but if she's catching on, then the sky's the limit.
      they still lack defense ("a defensive coach" my @$$), and they need a lot more practice at anticipating CC's passes (I blame the coach, of course -- Lisa Bluder she isn't), but this is a lovely possibility for CC to show how she can turn a low-qual team into a contender. she's done it before, and she'll do it again.

"that was cool. now Kels..." and she goes on about her teammates. tactful.)
    yeah you would just be a joy to see in a presser. "I don't want to float my own boat, but I CALLED it." the players would love you.

    Another awesome vid! Someone was posting crap about your pocket T, I say either go big with it, like a RED Fever logo pocket T, or upgrade even further, and make your shirt/top a signature in your videos, like jerseys from players whose game you admire. Curry, Dirk, Allen, Bird, Magic, Caitlin, etc. I know that takes money, so here's a start! I'll challenge him to contribute also.

      @@CarterMomon Upgrading from the pocket T would simply align your on-camera attire with the exceptional quality of your analysis and videos. I don't much care, pocket T, garbage bag with arm and head holes, suit of knights armor, or Lexie Hull jersey over a pocket T. But I think I'd go with the Lexie jersey, personally. And I love that choice!
      Be sure to wear the jersey the day it comes in, no washing first allowed, and thank the generous contributor personally on camera.
      It's clear you do your work for the love of the game, but there's absolutely nothing wrong with getting some support from the many, many people who love YOUR work. Something that many TH-camrs do to help support their work is a merch shop, just something to think about for the future. Officer Tatum seems to do well with his shop. I know there are licensing aspects to deal with when sports merch is involved.
      You have the best Fever/Caitlin Clark analysis and videos on TH-cam. I just hope to see you grow and have it be worth your while. No idea what your day job is, but to the extent your videos and content can give you some additional income, it will help make it possible for you to keep producing your awesome content.
      As always, take whatever's useful, and ignore the rest. Best wishes!!
      P.S. I second this comment: "Carter, I really like how you run the clips more than once, interspersed by your breakdown, so that we can look at the clip again with a more educated eye."

    • @CarterMomon
      @CarterMomon  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @jdaniels1313 I will definitely wear the jersey the moment it comes in, and I’ll also be sure to thank the donator on camera! I’ve also been thinking about merch as well, as I’ve had quite a few people (including you) ask about it. In terms of running the clips over and over, I will definitely keep doing that as well. Early on I didn’t, as I was trying to avoid copyright. But, as I’ve been blessed with no copyright issues over using film, I have no issues replaying the clips for an overall better analysis.
      Thank you for taking the time to draft this nice comment.

      exactly how I see her: a playmaker and a team-maker. she saw this whole season from the get-go. "a coach who thinks I'm supposed to 'fit in'? yeah sure, so they can keep losing. so let's see: I need to convert my teammates, into a real team -- like what we had at Iowa. AB will probably see it soonest, since she's an all-star and was a rookie last year. okay yep, she's working with me now. now let's see if KM can realize that I'll feed her good looks if she gets me the ball -- oh yeah, she's on board. and LH is looking to get tied in. this is going to work. maybe I can even get Christie Sides to realize what she's missing? oh, doesn't look like it: she's too 'defensive-minded,' looking to slow us down even when it costs us the game. well, keep working -- she'll have to admit reality at some point."
      MVP? hell, CC for coach of the year.

      What has astounded me about CC above all is her patience. She frequently uses the term "chipping away" when she talks about shifting the tide in winning games. Boy does she know about chipping away, and her team slowly gelling is pudding proof.

      @outsidethegarden 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@cathygregory3443 love this. I think of CC as a playmaker: she makes her team better, she makes her teammates better. she turned Iowa into a championship contender, two years in a row. she's turning the Fever into championship contenders. hell, I hope/believe she's turning Christie Sides into a half-way competent coach.
      she has a vision, and she's committed to it. so all the noise and drama and online flame-wars? not that important. she still gets caught up in the game: wanting to win, infuriated by ridiculous and unfair referreeing, stupid coaching decisions in the fouth quarter for heaven's sake WTAF? but she always has her eye on the long game.
      MVP, at a meta-level.

    Carter, I've learned sooo much about basketball and apparently judging from comments here, I'm not alone. Thanks for showing slow-motion videos and even occasionally drawing a circle around a player. With your experienced eye you recognize what's happening quickly, while I as a new CC fan can only focus on one activity at a time. So I noticed a blur of action as I concentrate on listening first then after replaying the clip a few times on my end, I'm able to comprehend what I heard with what I'm seeing. I find it easier to digest all that information when the action is slowed down as you are talking. Please continue to do more slow motion videos while you're talking, those are great learning moments. A great example is a deliberately slowed down video while you talked at 6:25 and you said the defender goes under the screen and Leslie Hull takes and makes the shot. Another thing you might consider is drawing a line to represent the "screen." Early in the season watching CC and the Fevers, I had to Google to learn what a screen meant in the world of basketball. Keep up the good analysis and it's ok with me that you "float your boat" with predictions that come to past. I am excited for your ConvosWithCarter and can't wait for more viewers to discover you to push you through 10,000 and beyond in subscribers. Your intensity and excitement and light-hearted, modest humor come through well. Do keep up this slower pace of talking.
