First time commenting though I listen to just about all of the podcasts. Concur on CPO Porsches. I bought a 1 year old Macan S. CPO warranty ended up being 6 years/unlimited miles. Bought successfully from The Mart. Seller was a true gentleman. I was the first to call and said he wouldn’t show it to anyone else until after I looked at it. He took it to his Porsche dealer for a PPI and 2 weeks later I drove it home. Great experience. And finally, I had a great experience on BaT during the pandemic. First and last time I’ll buy a car sight unseen; stressful for me. This was the early days of the pandemic when we were staying inside lots of the time. Got a PPI done, several calls with the seller and then arranged shipping. Longest week of my life. Car was everything the seller claimed and even better. One piece of advice that wasn’t mentioned was to be patient and wait for the right car. Well done podcast. Manny, send Vu on more trips. lol
Purchased my 981 Boxster S through Carmax. A very good search and alert function on their site. The car was shipped from Idaho to Sonoma County California for very little cost and no commitment. They seem to undervalue highly optioned Porsches. I had a great buying experience.(bought but didn't have to use the extended service contract)
I like buying from my local Porsche dealership. I have a great relationship with them and have purchased numerous cars over the years. I know they value their reputation and wouldn't pass off a ratty car. Their prices are really reasonable as well, .They also offer a third party warranty. Enjoyed the video.
Always great to hear Bob’s perspective on things… Also, I think word of mouth is a great place to buy cars, especially among fellow PCA members. Many great cars never hit the open market as they trade privately among friends. And don’t be afraid to tell someone that you want to buy their car when it comes time for them to sell! RS
I tried to buy a couple local 981s Caymans from PCA members on the mart, arranged a PPI with local shops and had them not show up with the cars. I finally got fed up and bought my Cayman on Carvana and had a local independent Porsche shop inspect the car during the 7 day return period. Best decision I ever made, the car is perfect, came with a PPF on it, and it was fine mechanically.
The real answer is “everywhere”. I bought mine through a guy like Bob Miller, who I said if you ever see one of these…….. your network is your friend when looking for a Porsche
Non Porsche Dealers can be great places to look. I found my 981 gts pdk Boxster with 18k at Mercedes dealer. The Dealer was clueless to the fact it was a very low production car.
The mart is a tricky place. Dealers like Ryan Friedman buy well priced 911s and flip them for 40% more on his website. Enthusiasts are missing out on good deals because resellers are flipping all of them. How can PCA ensure a fair marketplace for all?

Glad you liked it. We’ll cover similar topics in the future. Glad to have Vu back. Much better host than me. I’m just the Producer.
Thanks for sharing your experiences. Sounds like you had a similar buyer-seller experience as Damon with the Mart.
Lol, I can always count on the team to deliver! Thanks for watching.

Great discussion. At the end of the day, buyer beware and enjoy whatever you buy every second you own it..

Great job Manny. Good information to know when you’re looking for Porsche and/or related items to purchase.
