I drove one, a 2000, and loved it. I bought it used in about 2010 with 80k miles and drove it five years till it had almost 200k miles. Mine was an automatic so it was not modded or tuned. It was a great car.
I've had my 2005 Cooper S for almost 10 years now. It is such a hoot to drive and I still love it! My friend has an Abarth and Tyler is so right about the noise they make, it is fantastic.
I've had multiple Brono IIs and never came close to rolling one even once coming up to a T in the road and loosing my brakes I made the turn. No I wasn't driving slow. It is the same with the Jeep CJs or the Suzuki Samurai. If you drive them like you are supposed too they don't tip. Mostly the tipping controversy came when they attacked the Samarai and everyone pointed out that the others could tip as well. Nowhere was there a discussion of if you drive them following manufacturers direction it's less of a problem. I would say they are on the list because there are few examples left that haven't rusted out or been destroyed offroading. The large Broncos are going up as well. It's not likely the Explorer will raise in the next 10 years.
I almost bought a P1800 in the mid-90s, but ended up with a Karmann Ghia. It was gorgeous, but slow. It was also easy to work on. I don’t regret owning the Ghia, but I’d love to own the P1800.
My neighbor still has all original 1972 white with black interior P1800 that he bought new while in college! He always maintained it & babied it & it has been garaged since 1998 with it just being driven about once every 6 months, only has 55,000 miles on it
Just love it when April likes a list and hoovies loose his marbles and just acts like grumpy child, the joy of April being right with her choices is priceless.
Lt. Colonel Samantha Carter drove a P1800 in Stargate SG-1. If memory serves, it was Amanda Tapping's actual car, so production decided it was easier to just use her personal vehicle, and it fit the character perfectly. I've always loved that design.
In a Hoovie-esq move I bought a non-running but physically nice Delorean in 2004 for $11K. I then spent $25K in parts and two years doing a nut-and-bolt restoration along with upgrading everything that could be upgraded to it. The economic downturn of 2008 was really tough on the company where I worked so in 2010 I sold it for $25K. The new owner has featured it at the local World-of Wheels many times since then and it's a crowd favorite. It would easily be on the high end of Hagerty's estimate now. Sigh. On the upside, I really didn't like the way it drove.

@@StreetPreacherr I think he is just buttering up his girlfriend, he says that all the time. I hadn't heard of her either before she got together with Hoovie.
P1800 is next level amazing. The biggest issue is that most of them were weird D-jet injection. If you can find a mechanic under 60 years old that understands the all white wire D-jet, you’ve won the lottery, but also lost, because parts prices. The best bet with these cars is carb it, or resto mod in a modern injection system.
The Ferrari 400 had the GM Turbo 400 (hence the name…) which is one of the best automatics ever made. And 426 hemis from the 60’s were never considered “fragile”. They were warrantied for 12,000 or one year, which ever came first, like every other car in the 1960’s..
I had a 98 Honda Prelude, 5 Speed Manual, White Diamond Pearl color. That car was my first partner in crime - the VTEC transition was like a switch and oh the sound it made. It left me due to a baby seat. I think it is a worthwhile addition to Hagerty’s list.
My daughter dreamed of a Bronco 1 several years ago when they were around $60k for a really good one. She "settled" for a Isuzu Trooper II diesel. She LOVES it. Her taste is the 2 box look.
I had a srt8 magnum, drove it for almost 10 years and 170kmiles super reliable till the very end when all the door seals failed and some electronic engine problem that no shop I took it to could figure out, loved it and aprils rite, best noise ever. I also had an SLP loudmouth exhaust on it
There's a place in Houston TX that not only restores original DeLoreans , but will build new replica DeLoreans from the ground up . Also sells parts for them too .
Back in the 80s, and probably into the 90s, most new cars only had a one year warranty. My mother bought a 1980 Ford mustang with a 4-cylinder turbo, and it was a quick little car, but the turbo seized 2 weeks after the 1 year warranty expired and Ford refused to help. She traded it in on a Datsun 210. Boring, but reliable.
My neighbor has the white O.J / Al Cowlings Bronco. I keep telling him he needs to restore it and put an O.J wrap/ picture in the back window and take it to Barret -Jackson and auction it for a ton of money.
I agree with the Volvo. Don't forget about the wagon version. Simon Templar (initials S.T., hence the St.) eventually moved up to a Jaguar XJ-S, which I also love.
Hoovie, I’m sorry that your Hemi experience hasn’t gone super well, but to call the modern Hemi engine unreliable is completely foolish. Sure, it can fail when abused by someone who doesn’t maintain their vehicle. But there are hundreds of thousands still on the road today with well over 100,000 miles. You commonly find running examples on sale sites with 200,000 plus miles. It will only drop the valves if overheated. The Hemi tick is the biggest known flaw, but it only happens if you idle the engine a lot, and it can be remedied if you replace the stock oil pump with a high flow version that is made and sold by Melling.

Yeah, the show was "before my time" as they say, but it's been re-run regularly throughout the decades and you can watch it right now if you wish and it holds up well! So well over 1% Hoovie!

The Z car shown for the ZX series is the wrong era. You're showing a 75-78 series car. The 240Z, 69-73 -> 260Z, 74 -> 280Z, 75-78 were all the same basic shape. The big design change was in 79 which was also the introduction of the Nissan name in the US. One of the rarer ones would be the 80 Anniversary edition, but is still fairly easy to come by.

The Opel GT was way better than the Volvo. The Issue with the Bronco II like the S10 Blazer is besides the narrow wheelbase that caused them to roll over in a sharp turn like the CJ5 is they were stupid and did not put a small block in it. I have seen videos of people talking about whether Honda should bring back the 2000 or why they could never make that car again. They talk about how it could never be the basic sports car it was and that it would not sell but then you look at the Miata and say, "No." I think Honda should make the 2000 again as basic sports car in competition to the Miata
The datsun weren't cool cars they were slow and unreliable. The 6.1 hemi was the best and the most reliable hoovie doesn't know what he's talking about.
No one is accepting the fact that FSD will destroy the used car market. A massive crash in value is coming where few ‘collector cars’ will retain their value. Worse, the cost to maintain these cars is increasingly becoming prohibitively expensive.
The Deloreans selling for 6 figures this year have been super low miles (3500 and under); these are collector cars that aren't being driven because that is where the value is. I think higher mileage, driver condition Deloreans will still hover around the 50s as a level 3. Sometimes all you need is two bidders to raise the price. Much like the GNX question, a Delorean selling for 65.5K is the same price as a Nissan GTR. What helped the Delorean was being cheap for so long that it didn't compete with many other classics. I think that is affecting the price because you can get more car at the higher prices.
Would it be possible to put what's on your pc screen maybe parked in the upper corner of the video? Love watching the beautiful April, but it's hard to follow context. Thx.

I totally agree with the prelude, I absolutely love that generation of the car, it looks great, it’s quickish and super fun and reliable.
The Prelude value going up makes sense. Few left, so many got tuned or modded and wrecked during first The Fast and Furious era.

Whats that on the background? An Evo? 👀 Also, April should get her own neon sign 😑😁
The saint classic Roger Moore grew up watching it in blighty.
I feel like it gets old fast to be told "right..." in this kind of way. Especially when it means: yeah whatever, let's move on.
Hope April Loves her GNX enough to renovate it Right before she buys a DeLorean
She wants a GNX, but Tyler's is only a GN.
I know the Saint and the 1800. But I'm approaching 60, so that may explain it.
The only car on this list that I would cross the street to see was the E-type
This video is a perfect example of the difference between a woman who is into cars and a man who is into cars.
I LOVE the Bronco II !! My parents had one when they came out and would love to find a decent one but they have been over priced forever..
Metro 6r4 should be on the list.
DId I miss the video on this channel or Hoovie's channel about the blue Mustang?
Tyler, you had a 2004 MC40 (40th Anniversary of winning the Monte Carlo rally) MINI Cooper S.
