I have worked in food for over 30 years and we are treated subhuman. Pay sucks, no paid sick days, no paid vacation days, etc. I worked at a place for years and went 4 years without calling in sick. I actually got pretty sick with a stomach bug and called in and they actually said that I was lying. That I called in sick because somehow I just knew that day was going to be busy. As if I can see into the future. It is disgusting how so many people are treated working an honest job.
I worked in restaurants also for 30 years. (Same place for 20 years!). …….unfortunately, these places don’t care whether you live, or die. 🤷🏼♂️. My last 5 years at the place I ran up my overtime, got as much free food as I could, and did EVERYTHING (wink, wink) I could to take care of MYSELF!!
I worked in food service for 40 years and got promoted, was given many generous raises, bonuses and benefits. Everyone has a different experience. If mine was bad I would have left.
I worked at one for high school credit. It was a different location, but they do have one at Disney Springs. The pay was ok for a 17yo, but as a child who this was her first job, I did not know my rights, and was never given 15 minute breaks, only the state required 30 minute lunch if I was scheduled that long. I also would work as late a 2 in the morning some nights, though that was rare, as we were usually out around midnight. Most of my hours were “on call,” so as a teenager, I was expected to have no social life and always be on call should they need me.
@@roribachcrazylegs I needed something flexible to be able to be home with my kids when needed. There are not very many jobs that allow that. And the fact that you think that me staying is the problem and not the part about being treated poorly, then you are one of the assholes in this world that are part of the problem.
No, make him do walking vlogs of Tokyo! Not at his desk or trying anymore food. I want to see vlogs of Japan from Tom, not Tom sitting and eating 100 things I’m never going to be able to try.
Well said Tom, regarding the rooms @ The Contemporary Resort. I totally agree, they’ve ruined the rooms. They feel so much smaller. We lost so much space, where the desk & drawers were. I just can’t figure where all the space went! They’ve lost that luxury feel and just look tacky. It’s still what we call our ‘home’, so will continue to stay there but it’s just not the same anymore.
So glad cast members are getting better, lighter material, hopefully more comfortable costumes especially for cast members who are outside in the elements
Eric does a great job with these, but I am glad to see Tom back at the desk, even if it is only temporarily. Can't wait for this weeks News Tonight! ☺️😃
Of course they are going to be selling Tiana hot sauces, a number of us been joking thats precisely what they will do when it was revealed they are basically basing this on the real life Tabasco plantation salt dome. Probably going to be basic hot sauces for four times the price.
Great to see you back Tom! A Sunrail station would be awesome! I rode the Lynx bus from the airport to Disney Springs last week and it’s just $2 but it takes an hour and there is no room for luggage.
There's a big difference between being open to a station and actual plans for one to open. Actors are always open to another season of a cancelled show, but that doesn't mean it will happen.
I love how sentimental you are about Disney World Tom. I feel the same way. Boy you must be really tired....Japan, Anaheim and now Florida! When do you get to rest?
Oh thank goodness for the videos about the Pixar Fest food just in time for my trip starting on Thursday! The other videos I've found of the event don't cover the food as well TBH.
glad to see Tom back again (not saying I don't like Eric) but i also wanted to say that yea looking at all the stuff that Tom shows us in I would love to see at American Disney parks like you want more money sell more items that only Asia has so annoying :(
This was the resort most ABC sitcoms stayed at. Back in the 90s, with only one Universal park, and three WDW, we would have extra time to just relax… …usually resort hopping the monorail loop. I remember this gift shop fondly. This was back when they were still selling $3 PVC figurines, and I was able to complete my set of Splash Mountain/Song of the South there. For some reason though, I only seem to have successfully held onto Brer Bear into adulthood.
As someone who doesn't live in Florida, this is the first time I've heard about the low water levels. Do we know what is causing it? Is it due to global warming (less rain)? Or was a dam removed downstream? Or is extra water being used for irrigation? Florida without water is basically just the Sahara Desert.
It's a huge shame that you rarely seem to feature anything that's going on at Disneyland Paris. I know historically there probably hasn't been much to report on, but there's so much going on right now that's barely had a look in on the show: Disney Village demolition, Studio 1 is now closed, Space Mountain is having some major exterior work, Storybook ride (I cannot be bothered to find the French name 😆) is having its new scenes added, Frozen and Rapunzel rides are progressing well. It's no bother for me personally, as I can see all of this on the various pages that follow DLP, but it would be great to see some of it on this show so the international viewers can see that stuff is actually happening at the resort, for once 😆
Glad to have you back Tom! Eric did a good enough job, but it’s not the same when he says “And the best part is their concierge services are 100% free, so book today”
I have to admit that, like the armidillo, I borrow things that don't belong to me. If they belong to me, I don't need to borrow them. Thanks for all you do, I LOVE your channel.
Not having Brightline go through Disney World remains such a dumbfounded decision, especially as Universal is basically getting their own stop within the I-Drive region.
Speaking from experience...there is nothing at the Disney Parks that's worth purchasing a Lightning Lane. The only way we get Disney to change Genie+ and the Lightning Lane service is if people stop paying for it!
Question. If I use DVC rentals for my stay and then buy my tickets on the Disney website will I have to make park reservations for my tickets since technically it was not an “add on” when booking my stay.
I hope it happens with sun rail and Disney springs getting a station unfortunately with Disney magical express now gone as a tourist being able to go from the international terminal at Orlando airport to Disney springs to get a bus to the resort would be nice
Glad you see Tom back. And glad he's not in a full-body cast after needing to constantly contort himself in that tiny Japanese bathroom every time he had to take a dump.
I think these new uniforms although well intended♻️ they look like trash…. Though maybe the higher ups thought well hell if we’re gonna treat our cast members like trash let’s dress them in it too! 🗑️
They're complaining about working 5 days a week and still being considered part time and not getting paid time off or sick and not getting any other benefits.

@jaklg... you stayed in an industry for 30 years that treated you as "subhuman"? Whatever floats your boat I guess.
I worked in food service for 40 years and got promoted, was given many generous raises, bonuses and benefits. Everyone has a different experience. If mine was bad I would have left.

How strangely comforting to see you back at the desk. Eric does a great job (truly!!!) but it’s still nice to see you back.
No, make him do walking vlogs of Tokyo! Not at his desk or trying anymore food.
I want to see vlogs of Japan from Tom, not Tom sitting and eating 100 things I’m never going to be able to try.
Great to have you back, temporarily!!! Loving your content from Japan..
Well said Tom, regarding the rooms @ The Contemporary Resort. I totally agree, they’ve ruined the rooms.

I just can’t figure where all the space went!

Good to see Tom back 😊
Welcome back , Tom! Hope you enjoyed your time in Japan!
Welcome back Tom! Can't wait for studio 89!
YaY, Tom’s back!! Good to see you if only for a short time!!!
So glad cast members are getting better, lighter material, hopefully more comfortable costumes especially for cast members who are outside in the elements
Eric does a great job with these, but I am glad to see Tom back at the desk, even if it is only temporarily. Can't wait for this weeks News Tonight! ☺️😃
Welcome back Tom we missed you
Of course they are going to be selling Tiana hot sauces, a number of us been joking thats precisely what they will do when it was revealed they are basically basing this on the real life Tabasco plantation salt dome. Probably going to be basic hot sauces for four times the price.
Hearing Tom pronounce “Oaxacan” was the highlight of this video. I actually spit my drink out. Can’t wait for stage 89 stream it’s gonna be awesome!
Is Eric laughing? Maybe.
YEAH, WELCOME BACK TOM!!!!
I really enjoy the trip that Tom took. Great videos indeed. Welcome back Tom 👍
great to see you back behind the desk
"Smellephants" -- I wonder ... if the aromas will inspire guests to find conveniently located snack stands ... that are selling the actual foods?
I didn’t understand why Disney & Universal had to fight over that Sun Rail thing it benefits both of you. Ugh corporate greed 🤦🏻♂️😂
Welcome back Tom! Loved the Japan content!
Great to see you back Tom!
A Sunrail station would be awesome! I rode the Lynx bus from the airport to Disney Springs last week and it’s just $2 but it takes an hour and there is no room for luggage.

Welcome back Tom. Thank you for the Japan content.
Love to see you back!
I love an armadillo! And he is a cutie! Please make a plush of him!
Where does Disney have room at Disney Springs for a train station? I’m looking at an aerial view map and can’t figure it out…
Hi Tom!! Central Orlando certainly would benefit from more train options. Traffic is insane.
Welcome Back, Tom! Hopefully, You had a Great Trip!
Great to have you back Tom, have long will you be back?
My grandmother would always server Orange Juice with ice. I still prefer that today.
wha-ha-kin :)
Previous costumes were neat and sharp. New costumes look like pajamas.
I love how sentimental you are about Disney World Tom. I feel the same way. Boy you must be really tired....Japan, Anaheim and now Florida! When do you get to rest?
Tom is back we actually get a WDW News Tonight this week! Praise Figment
Oh thank goodness for the videos about the Pixar Fest food just in time for my trip starting on Thursday! The other videos I've found of the event don't cover the food as well TBH.
Hey Tom, Japan is calling!
Tom is back! 🎉
Welcome home tom
Welcome back, Tom! Thanks Eric for a great job. So very excited for Stage 89 (even if watching virtually from SoCal)!
Looking forward to the Pixar Fest food review!
glad to see Tom back again (not saying I don't like Eric) but i also wanted to say that yea looking at all the stuff that Tom shows us in I would love to see at American Disney parks like you want more money sell more items that only Asia has so annoying :(
Great job Eric! Welcome back Tom! Great work in Japan, Tom - loved those vlogs!
Universal Orlando nailed these summertime announcements this year!
A rare W
I echo all of Tom’s thoughts on M. Mouse Mercantile: same childhood memories, same concerns…
This was the resort most ABC sitcoms stayed at. Back in the 90s, with only one Universal park, and three WDW, we would have extra time to just relax… …usually resort hopping the monorail loop. Welcome back Tom. Can’t wait for stage 89. And more Japan blogs.
Welcome back Tom
I’m in winter springs this would be a game changer for me
Welcome back Tom! Love the voice change too in the beginning 😂
As someone who doesn't live in Florida, this is the first time I've heard about the low water levels. Do we know what is causing it? Is it due to global warming (less rain)? Or was a dam removed downstream? Or is extra water being used for irrigation? Florida without water is basically just the Sahara Desert.
Disney: We are making updates to something at Disneyworld
Tom: I don't like it
Oh hes Tomporarily back 😅
Welcome back. I’m gonna miss your vlogs!!!
I only put ice in my orange juice when I’m feeling fancy
*yay* I’ll start watching again!!
“You don’t put ice in orange juice.” You do in Ice Tea. Perhaps it’s a southern thing, but you put lemons in it too.
Welcome back ….
It's a huge shame that you rarely seem to feature anything that's going on at Disneyland Paris.
I know historically there probably hasn't been much to report on, but there's so much going on right now that's barely had a look in on the show: Disney Village demolition, Studio 1 is now closed, Space Mountain is having some major exterior work, Storybook ride (I cannot be bothered to find the French name 😆) is having its new scenes added, Frozen and Rapunzel rides are progressing well.

welcome back to a full sized bathroom for a full size guy
I can't wait for Tom to take a tour of the new disgusting and ugly DVC cabins at Fort Wilderness and give us another one of his rants.
Welcome Back Tom!
Glad to have you back Tom! Eric did a good enough job, but it’s not the same when he says “And the best part is their concierge services are 100% free, so book today”
The railroad will pick up visitors from the airport and take them to Disney Springs. From there, they’ll take the busses to their Disney hotels.
I have to admit that, like the armidillo, I borrow things that don't belong to me. If they belong to me, I don't need to borrow them. Thanks for all you do, I LOVE your channel.
Is that what they’re planning getting a train station added to Disney springs
Welcome back, Tom! I brought your stay in Tokyo, Japan for new apparent.
I will go back next week
Not having Brightline go through Disney World remains such a dumbfounded decision, especially as Universal is basically getting their own stop within the I-Drive region.
Thank you for the chapter for your ads so we can skip them. :) Please don't stop doing that.
The word you pronounced as "Oh Zah Ken" is pronounced "Wah ha ka", I tell you in the spirit of trying to be helpful.
What happened to speakers that were on the ground and hidden in flower gardens or brush or looked like rocks?
Speaking from experience...there is nothing at the Disney Parks that's worth purchasing a Lightning Lane. The only way we get Disney to change Genie+ and the Lightning Lane service is if people stop paying for it!
Anyone else get shocked to see Tom here 😂
Shocked in a delightful way!
When is the link for the Stage 89 Streaming site opens?
Question. If I use DVC rentals for my stay and then buy my tickets on the Disney website will I have to make park reservations for my tickets since technically it was not an “add on” when booking my stay.
So will Tiana’s open early June or mid June for regular guests?
They haven’t said
15:46 what happened thy it show up
My mom puts ice in OJ 🤮
really in this 2024 do not know why Big Corporations still Sh... on its employees that keep the Corporations doors open
0 Days!
Two hills I will die on:
Ice belongs in orange juice
Oreos/chocolate chip cookies go with orange juice, not milk
I hope it happens with sun rail and Disney springs getting a station unfortunately with Disney magical express now gone as a tourist being able to go from the international terminal at Orlando airport to Disney springs to get a bus to the resort would be nice
Where's Eric? IDK about this guy. ;)
I’m confused, I thought Tom was in Japan
The costumes look sloppy and no theming just bland
Frumpy and lazy. Just wholly underwhelming!
Glad you see Tom back.
And glad he's not in a full-body cast after needing to constantly contort himself in that tiny Japanese bathroom every time he had to take a dump.
Esmile!
I would rather have a stop at universal, that is way better these days!
Thank the good lord. Baylake is by far my least favorite Dvc property and we own it.
How does universal still get ti creates its own tax district
if you put ice in orange juice you deserve to be forced to eat pizzerizzo for the rest of your life
YUM!! I LOVE the puffy Pizzarizzo Pizza.
The new Main Street costumes are so awful as to be ridiculous! Who is in charge?
SmelliTIZERS not smellitzers
I think these new uniforms although well intended♻️ they look like trash…. Though maybe the higher ups thought well hell if we’re gonna treat our cast members like trash let’s dress them in it too! 🗑️
Complaining about working five days a week is pretty week.
They're complaining about working 5 days a week and still being considered part time and not getting paid time off or sick and not getting any other benefits.
You should go back and listen to it again...
If you do not like your pay or benefits, find another job. It is not up the your. Boss to baby sit you.
