    Nice !!! If you apply the sealant by machine (which makes your work easier and faster) could you then also wipe it off with the polisher (and with which pad ??) That would save you even more time, wouldn't it ?

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      To wipe by hand is easier and faster. because it's hard to control the pressure when removing sealants or wax by machine. I just remove by hand.

    When you do the pre rinse with APC, do you do that on coated vehicles as well? If so, will it shorten the life of the coating?

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi. No we don’t do that in coated vehicles unless they are past the year mark and they need it. Doing an APC rinse can actually revive a coating becasue it releases traffic film and grime that can “clog” the coating. It’s not needed every time but only when needed.

  • @declanflaherty8958

    Quick question, if you don’t do machine polishing after clay mitt usage, do you see any marring ? I avoid clay mitt usage for my washes as I am worried that I am adding some marring to the paint. I am not criticizing your method Phil just merely asking your advice since you have a lot more experience than I. Thanks again for these great videos.

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hi. Great question. If you watch a few of our other videos you will see how we talk a a lot about determining what we need to do depending on what we see on the paint. If it’s black soft paint and after the clay bar/mitt there is marring we simply machine apply a wax/sealant instead of spray wax/sealant. The mechanical action of a soft pad with the liquid will remove any marring left behind. It’s not really polishing but it does quickly spread the wax, gloss up the paint and remove minor marring. But it all depends on how the paint responds after the clay bar/mitt.

    • @declanflaherty8958
      @declanflaherty8958 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Phil! Yes mostly I was thinking of darker colours and indeed this “polishing” step would resolve that. I have to work it into my pricing as it’s an extra step.

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes that’s absolutely true! Our exterior services start at $175 and go up from there depending on what is needed. That way we can add a few extra steps if needed without felling the need to charge more or feel that we are losing money. I feel it’s a win:win for us and our customers. 😎👍🏼

    • @declanflaherty8958
      @declanflaherty8958 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MirandaDetailing wish I could have that sort of pricing start here in Finland but sadly it’s a country where detailing is not a commodity but a luxury, thus limiting the market size and adding cost as a limiting factor. Still I 100% agree with your method.

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Understood. You need to charge according to your demographic, customer base and so on. That will vary from country to country and even town to town. 😎👍🏼

    • @petemanschula293

      @@MirandaDetailing never thought of using a "detail gun". I was actually wondering if seal and shine could be applied the way you demonstrated with the spray sealant you used. But now you got me thinking about spraying for a well atomized application

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Oohhhh I see you meant with a polisher?! Sorry I had another guy ask about the spray gun. I wouldn’t apply seal and shine with a polisher or spray gun. It’s super easy to apply with just a towel and wipe on wipe off. I have tried a polisher with spray products like that and it would sling and make a mess 🤦🏻‍♂️. I would just stick with easy towel application

    How often do you pre-wash with an apc and can it weaken a true ceramic coating (2-3 years of protection)? Great video with many tips, keep it up!

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi. 90% of our customers have vehicles that need full details starting with our usual process. APC’s don’t have much effect on true Coatings. In fact an APC rinse every 6 months or so helps to clean the coating and revive it. For maintenance washes we don’t need to do an APC rinse, just rinse and wash per usual since it already has good protection.
