Hey Hey there. Greetings from Indianapolis, Mr and Mrs Movies. Enjoyed your reaction as always. Mrs. Movies, I love your rendition of a chainsaw, pitch perfect 👌. Have a perfect evening.
If I hadn't ad the original to compare this to, I'd rate it higher. That said, of the spate pf remakes Platinum Dunes and whoever else suddenly made in the early 00's, this is one of the better ones. It doesn't have the stark reality of the original, but it does have the disturbing sense of the grotesque that the original did. And getting John Laroquette back to do the narration was awesome.
Agree, the shot with Leatherface wearing Kemper's face creeped the hell out of me. The horror is more on the side of psychological terror than gore, like the original.
Mrs. Movies is right! Watch the alternate opening and ending on the Blu-ray. She's in a mental hospital modern day telling the story to someone important. I kind of prefer the alternate bookends because it gives it that Silence of the Lambs vibe. Maybe a quick reaction? 🤷🏻♂️ I love this movie, f**ked up and all. I was born in '76 and heard all my young life how the original was the most disturbing movie ever made. I fell asleep during it every time once I could finally watch it at 12, I think. Part 2 was way more hardcore. I feel like this one finally lived up to the hype 😊 Oh, Morgan's deleted scene kill is my favorite 🤘
I’m the same, when it comes down to it I shake like a leaf. I had to call 911 when there was a dude at my front and back door on Halloween nite trying to use my phone. I knew it was bad and woke my husband up and he grabbed our shotgun and they ran off. But before I could process it, my husband was telling me to call emergency services and I forgot the number! Scary af
This movie definitely has the scariest Leatherface and the scene where Erin sees Kemper’s face was well done. Other than that, I think it’s awful and doesn’t even come close to holding a candle to the claustrophobic, blazing hot, sweaty disgusting guerrilla intensity of the original. It’s like MTV made this remake. It’s one of the better of the glut of horror remakes that came out and at least it’s better than the abysmal prequel.
An example how to do a Remake as good as the original(if not even better) I especially like how they nailed the family which is one of the important aspects of the franchise, every member is memorable just like in the original
This is one of those remakes which is, like many have said, can stand up to the original and could slightly pass it. The movie was cut to hell for a lot of violence, which in 2003 was interesting as violence in horror movies started to take an extreme turn. (for the better). The below is from IMDB. To avoid an NC-17 rating, the more graphic shots of Morgan's death were cut. The original version of the scene featured the shot of the chainsaw slicing into his crotch and then having intestines and blood falling out of him. The cut version cuts away when the chainsaw is about to cut him and totally cuts out the intestines falling from his body. The hitchhiker death scene was also cut severely. The original scene has her ear flying off of her head and blood and brain matter being more dark in color and more in amount flying out of her head. Jedidiah was originally supposed to be killed by Leatherface for helping Erin and Morgan escape, but the scene was scrapped for being "too intense".
First time I saw this was alone. I was maybe 13 or 14. After I watched the movie I went to my next door neighbors in the apartment just shaking barely talked. We just watched boxing on HBO lol
To be fair to "Classic" Horror, if a person wasn't there to see it when it was new, its probably not that scary when comparing it to Modern horror or remakes. but i did like this remake, even though i didn't think we needed it.
I remember it being a trend at the time for horror movies to have that orangy colour grading where everything looked really grimy and everyone looked really sweaty. Something that actually added to the movie in my opinion.
This was the only remake that was done right for this franchise in my opinion. Every other one was garbage especially the most recent one that Netflix made.

“Dangerous game running with a chainsaw” 🤣 for some reason this was hilarious to me
I cannot with the wife’s chainsaw motions 🤣 Just like Scary Movie 3.
I gave your lady credit. She has great in survival and she knows when to run.
I wonder if the Wife could handle House of 1000 corpses or The Devils Rejects.
Neither of you thought to ask where the passenger pulled the gun from, right before she blew a hole in her head😂😂
I think it was obvious
Andrew Bryniaski was terrifying as Leatherface in this Remake
the head on the table when he is making the skin suit I think is the director
Y'all should watch the prequel to this one: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning. It answers a few questions y'all had.
I think you guys should watch "Me, Myself & Irine"
The title also goes nice with the channel name xD
This is my favorite horror series👍. Thanks for doing these💖. Keep going.
MY FATHER SERVED IN VIETNAM, IN 1971. HE was a TUNNEL RAT! I was proud of my Father!!! Having said this, this film, WAS A GREAT FILM!!!
I love this movie, f**ked up and all. I was born in '76 and heard all my young life how the original was the most disturbing movie ever made. I fell asleep during it every time once I could finally watch it at 12, I think. Part 2 was way more hardcore. I feel like this one finally lived up to the hype 😊
Oh, Morgan's deleted scene kill is my favorite 🤘
The girl that plays Pepper is also in Wrong Turn 2, she's great in that one too.
6:15 ... Oh, boy, that cheese is gonna be interesting.....
When are you guys watching house of wax the remake
I love this movie I actually prefer this to the original. Watching this in the cinema with friends as a kid was amazing
This was the worst of the franchise.
@@deacongowan117 I like it
An example how to do a Remake as good as the original(if not even better)
I especially like how they nailed the family which is one of the important aspects of the franchise, every member is memorable just like in the original
The funeral scene at the end is the actual footage of the DeFeo funeral from Amityville Long Island, New York.
I've just watched the intro and already I'm pumped for the Rocky vs Leatherface showdown.
I actually saw this before seeing the original, I had it on dvd as a kid and liked it quite a bit! it still holds up imo
AHHHH YES. JESSICA & THE TWINS. STAY THIRSTY MY FRIENDS
shes . so . HOT
I remember it being a trend at the time for horror movies to have that orangy colour grading where everything looked really grimy and everyone looked really sweaty. Something that actually added to the movie in my opinion.
9:50 The kid isn't actually related to the family. They killed and probably ate his real family and kidnapped him.
Watched this in theatres when i was 12 and didn't sleep without the lights on for weeks lol one of my favorite horror movies to this day
Three reasons you guys are clearly Southern.: The Stetson, love for Lynyrd Skynyrd and a dog named, “Howdy”
This was the only remake that was done right for this franchise in my opinion. Every other one was garbage especially the most recent one that Netflix made.
I love this remake so much! Jessica Biel is an amazing Final Girl! Her season of The Sinner was so good too!😍
It sucked
R. Lee Ermey really stole the show, in this Movie.
The Prequel Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning is definitely worth a watch, to explain some questions in this Movie.
29:39
LMAO perfect timing 💀😂
