Great printer. Iv've had it now for two weeks and have never printed more. The Ultra 4 is by far the best resin peinter on the market. It looks like the industry has have finally learned how to build resin printers.
10:25 this information just saved me from buying something I would have regretted. Very good review, the build plate not fitting in the cleaning tank is very important. I was actually looking for information specifically to see if the build plate would fit and if not by how much.
Yeah, Elegoo have not yet found a solution. they recommend taking off the print and put it in the basket. but i think that is way too messy. at the moment i'm just overfilling the tank with IPA and it works okay :-)
This is 1st time im seeing someone putting build plate in washing station, till now i've seen people take prints off from plate and put then in washing station.
DONT SUBMERGE THE FULL BUILD PLATE. On the Saturn 4 Ultra. The way to go is take the prints off the build plate before cleaning! The upper part of the build tray is Hollow. You don't want it to drip ipa in your resin on your next print. It's a minor workflow difference with the benefits of the tilting vat that reduces peel force. Ps. I just ordered mine yesterday.
Yeah, i found out, and it sucks. But i just want my models to be clean before i scrape them off the build plate, it gives a lot less mess. I wrote elegoo support and they recommended the same thing, but i think it is a stupid solution to something that should be more simpel. It does not make sense to have a wash station that should support the build plat, all other models from elegoo support this feature.
@olebrogger it literally states on the wash station page on elegoos sites: Friendly Tips: Kindly be aware that for the Saturn 4 series and Jupiter series, the build platform must be removed for cleaning, which is different from other applicable models.
It is hard to show on camera, but when under magnifying glasses and i paint the minis it can clearly see a difference. but it is mostly about the speed.
Great side by side comparison. Any way you could print a large (4 inch tall or taller) solid and clear resin print? I want to see if the tilting mechanism decreases or eliminates the chance for trapped bubbles inside the prints. Any clear resin should show the good or bad results.
Do you know if it it's a decent idea to have the saturn 4 ultra on my bedroom if I use a fume extractor like yours + I have the printer inside a still air glove box?. I would like the toxicity to be close to 0% as I would be spending a lot of time in the bedroom
I would not recommend having a resin printer in your bedroom, dont do it! It requires good ventilation even with an air purifier. Uncured Resin and resin fumes are toxic, and you could harm yourself if you put it in a room where you sleep. You need to put it in a room where you can provide good ventilation and a room where you dont stay on a daily basis, like a workshop, laundry room, or basement. Just make sure you have good ventilation. And stay safe👍
curious what you have the microns at? I was doing 50 then jumped down to 30. Should i do 20? I know by lowering the number i will wear out the LCD quicker but i really want crisp details on my prints.
I set mine to 25. in the test on both printers. but on daily basis i run it at 50. i can hardly tell the difference. most terrain pieces i set to 100, but only to speed up the process, and for terrain, like crates, trees and doors it works fine. but minis i would go with 50
@@MrFleamonkey Do you use the Tank clean function before scraping the bits off the FEP? It will make a thin layer in the bottom of the tank that is easy to peal off using the plastic scraper. then you avoid harming the FEP. Remember never use the metal scraper on the FEP
You are going to love it :-) My wallet already have the same feeling about you and all the stuff you are presenting on stream. Think it is a Love&Hate relationship❤️

Great Video! 👍 I have just ordered mine😊
Thank you❤️Good choice!😃 happy printing👍
Amazing video!
Thank you 😃
I couldn't really tell any difference in detail quality. If anything the S was sharper in some areas.

Great idea😃I will try that and post a picture in the community tab👍
