  • Cleaning a gutter with your bare hands can cause painful scratches and cuts. And climbing a ladder to reach second-story gutters is just asking for trouble. Instead keep your hands unscathed and your feet on the ground by using Gutter Sense, the easy-to-use rain gutter cleaning device!
This clever gutter cleaner tool features large polycarbonate "tongs" that will grab 14" of leaves or pine needles from flat-bottom gutters when you pull on the 12'-long braided rope included. Then just dump the debris in a trash bag or compost pile! You'll need to add your own threaded broom handle or extension pole to this gutter cleaning device, or get the Gutter Sense and Pole set (sold separately), with telescoping steel pole that gives you 4' to 16' of extra reach.

Make new video showing it working on a real gutter high up! You might sell more that way!

HI, I bought these gutter sense tongs a few weeks ago for my gutter cleaning business. It's a brilliant idea - But after my practical experiences I have some very important critical comments - I use this tool in Australia and noticed some deficiencies -
1.) The tongs twist around on the pole and need to be locked into place by a locking pin or something like that. The tongs could be made a little stronger in this way.
2.) The tong hands need to be curved more into horizontal ends, to actually get under the leaves and scoop them up properly
I only seem to get 2 or 3 leaves out each time, so unfortunately this tool doesn't work well enough for me here. I have purchased an industrial vacuum system to do the job.

Bought one for cleaning 300+ feet of gutters 25' off the ground. Roof is an R panel metal roof with a large overhang. Gutter is a 6" K-line. Due to the leaf debris, pine straw and twigs, the Gutter Sense just won't cut it. It does work but each retraction carries out around what you could grab with one hand. It would take days to clean the whole system. I did use it to grab a snake slithering through my yard. Worked great for that!!

Get this guy some water. He sounds parched. Bad video. Should watch some infomercials to know how to keep attention. Start with the demo.

I've had this product for 2 years. Get tons of fir needles in my gutters. With an extension pole I can clean my gutters from the ground. No electricity, no water, no ladder required. I've recommended it to many others. Beats getting on a ladder or hiring someone ever months.

If you are so inclined, we could spend some time contemplating the possibilities.
For contact info go to Google and type (whois . net) select who is look up.
Then type in (myfunfinder . com) Then scroll down and read fine print. Voila!

The reason I am writing is to offer my assistance in the further developing of the tool. On my original Patent I deliberately left out some details that were beneficial, but not critical to the patenting process.
As you have probably already noticed while comparing my design to the vast assortment of gutter cleaners listed at the U. S. Patent Office. You found my innovation and brilliance (humbly speaking cough…cough) surpasses them all. This is no fluke; for I have plenty more.

I like this Gutter Sense tool. But the roofer who put my roof on put the shingle on so that they hang over the gutters. I can barely get my hands in there to get the leaves out (can’t even use a gutter scoop). Think I’ll cut the shingle back.

I'm a 60 y.o. woman and I think this product is terrific. However, after several years the strings broke and I have no idea how to restring it properly because I never actuallly looked. I bought a second one on Etsy today and it has extra wire and a lubricant I never received with my first one. I hope to restring my original and keep careful notes so this doesn't happen again. You do need some real upper body strength and a bit of patience to move along the gutter length, but it really works very well. Good product!

There are nearly as many gutter cleaning gadgets as mousetraps today! I suppose what works best depends on the user and height of your roof. I have a one story with 10 ft ceilings, a bit higher than most one story homes. My gutters are the 6” deeper style and I do not want to hassle with a ladder. Saw thus in Amazon and I think it makes the most sense of all the gadgets available. Having a good pole is key, as well. If this thing is made of decent materials, I expect it to work well. There’s a similar device, gutter whiz. But this one has better ratings and appears to have longer arms or tongs reach down into deeper gutters, like mine. Also, I believe gutter whiz needs a 1/2” thread, which is not the industry standard of 3/4” and you may be forced to buy their pole. They do not make that information very clear on their website or on Amazon, but they did answer a question about thread size. Check them out, but for no ladders, no blowers, no vacuums and no leaky hose or pipe systems, this appears to be the best bet. Running a hose in the gutter after using this may be ok, but you need something to pull out the debris. I bet if I can pull out the debris where the downspout is connected the gutter, my gutters will drain like a mad river. This just seems to make the most sense for the $$$.

I just ordered 2 of these for my second level gutter, no more breaking out the ladder to get up there to scoop out the clog in the downspout....this will be a life change, Thanks !!!!

An enhancement would be to mount a small, ruggedized television camera on the tool, to see debris in the gutter and be able to tell when it is sufficiently clean.

Still working great. Of course, it requires a little upper body strength (for second story) and the ability to actually work for about 30 minutes or so. I guess that disqualifies most of the nancies and metrosexuals here...

great liitle invention...never tried it myself because I own a bungalow with a verry shallow and wide open membrane type gutter so I guess I'm lucky that way...I think that your tool is going to help a lot of people do this task themselves espescially if their house has more than one floor...

    Hi Bob,
You’ve done good, developing this device. The streamlining is very much like I had envisioned.
If I may, let me introduce myself. My Name is, Ron Molzan. The Original Inventor of this apparatus.
    (U.S. Patent no.6,139,077)
As you are aware my Patent expired prematurely. This was due to hardship a difficult period in my life. But no worry’s all’s fair, love and war.

I just used this tool for the first time, I've never cleaned gutters before. It took me a few tries to figure out the right angle adjustment for me, but once I got that down I was off and running. I cleaned the 2 gutters spanning the entire back of my home in less than an hour. Practice makes perfect, and once I got the hang of this tool I was very pleased with it and myself! Now, I'm off to do the rest of them.

I have been using it for several years. Works for me. I'm sure if you want to climb a ladder you can clean your gutters more thoroughly but I don't like heights. One of the few things like this I've bought that actually works. I think the extension pole was about forty bucks. I really like it.

these videos are all the same, as if any norm gutter has dry leafs, in the uk we get moss, sticks weeds, grass and that wouldnt remove that lot when its soaking wet.

hahaqha my grandma made these when I was little. Many people did. They would take industrial tongs and old bike seat springs, bolt the spring to a handle, then add string... wow.. can't believe someone is actually trying to take credit for being FIRST TO MAKE THIS... jejejejje crazy...

  • @JasonDunlop247

Wouldnt work on proper dirty gutters. Unless you live in a very dry environment and only have crisp dry leaves in your gutters then this device would be useless. Im sorry but this is ridiculous......

Lol, what a joke! I do gutter cleaning, this does not do the right job. You will surely have leftover leaves and debris/mud/ shingle residue that will remain in your gutter. Even if you only have leaves in gutter, some will be left over, then if you try hosing your gutter from one end to the downspout, the remainder leaves will flush to the downspout and clog the drain! Not worth the money for an improper job that will surely agrivate you when your gutter will not drain properly after.
