Back in my hunting days I was the camp cook. On day two I would cook something like this and hand it out but said don't eat it until I say so. While they were holding the plates I sprayed whipped cream on it then sprinkle with toasted almonds. My opinion is, after a few days in the forest the sound of the cream coming out of the can took them back to childhood. The look on their faces were absolutely priceless. Nice video Blackie!
Thanks Blackie you've been very helpful with black powder pistols, cooking, outdoors things an inspiration. Because of your advice I got into Kukuri knives too, a very useful blade geometry. I better leave the cooking to more able hands though. Thanks again for your tutelage!😎
Awesome!!! I like these little camp cooking things & can use meat as well yummm I know what we’re having for Desert tonight I cook allot in my back yard also&this be a nice treat when out as well Thanx bro for sharing that as well as everything els👍🤠👍
I remember the only camping trip i had with my Grandparents. My Grandfather had one of those sandwich pie irons, the kind you put directly on the fire? He just put a PB&J sandwich in it and man did it turn out delicious! Also, "can of biscuits" sounds funny, but one of those few things that really IS WHAT IT IS...lol. Those look very tasty Blackie!
Thanks for sharing, it’s been way to long since I’ve made these fried pies. Thanks for the reminder. I enjoy all your videos but the cooking videos are a great addition.
Wow! hey Blackie, those fry pies looked great! I'll have to try those sometime while camping. Thanks! I usually use a Rome pie iron for making stuff like that when I'm camping.
Hmm, nothing like a low fat, no sugar, no choresterol dessert, lol. Use to make pretty much the same thing in the boy scouts on camping trips, but we made ovens an baked them, rocks an tinfoil, you can do a lot. Thx for the vid.
I bet this would be good with the blueberry cobbler MRE! Biscuits can be used for all kinds of different applications in the field, especially if you havea dutch oven.
southern..a home made biscuit thats the size of your fist..or as we called it size of a cats head..usually it was the main part of breakfast with sausage or bacon or egg to stuff into the big hunk of biscuit
Years ago my wife worked for a daycare they use to make little individual pizzas out of can biscuits with pizza sauce, pepperoni, and shredded cheese
we have made those and made little pizza pockets as well with cheese pizza sauce and a few fine toppings

This is genius! I cannot believe I’ve never thought of this. Usually when I make biscuits I toss them in a can of ranch style beans
Great idea!
Takes me back to my youth, when my Grandma would make fried peach pies the same way. Oh, and the fried cornbread. All in a cast iron skillet.
mine too..cast iron is the way to go
