    My heart breaks for these horses. You can see on most of them, they look so sad. Animals are smarter than what we give them credit for and I truly believe they knew what was going on. I hope you get the horse you want from that guy.

      Is there no organization that will prosecute the ones that are clearly cases for neglect, why don't the auction people give the names over to the authorities? I an not from America so not sure how animal cruelty cases are handled, extremely sad watching these poor innocent animals, l am glad they are mentioned in the Bible as being in heaven, that is the only good thing about their release from this earth .

    I absolutely love your professional way of looking for a horse and at the same time let your heart speak. Both things are equally important. Knowing what to look for is extremely important for this kind of auction. Not looking for a rescue is in my opinion a very good thing to do!

    Ps. Sorry you didn’t win the auction. Everything happens for a reason for sure and if it is ment to be, he ‘ll be yours.

  • @cathykanavy7701

    I know the feeling… I’ve cried over many horses… especially working on the track and it’s a claiming race. Walking them out to the paddocks… then prepared to retrieve them after they’ve won, place or showed. Then they’re gone. And you walk back empty handed, bawling your eyes out with their lead rope and halter while the others walk back behind you with their tack. 😭🥺. Worst feeling in the world. X5. Still hurts to this day… but other horses come and go. I love what you do. Even if a horse is only “yours” for a few hours or years, they remain in your heart. Hugs.

    • @JeannetteShoreland
      @JeannetteShoreland ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I've never understood the rationale behind a Claiming Race. If the owner and trainer have put all that money and effort into training a good horse for a race, and if the horse wins, the owner loses the horse. Some random person just walks up and claims it; don't understand it at all!

I never attended a horse auction I so had never heard about the loose pen horses. I did discover another channel called the The Clever Cow Girl who only rehabs the loose pen horses and rehomes them. I have yet to understand how an owner can let these beautiful wonderful animals, get into such terrible conditions. I get to live vicariously through you without the actual temptation and heartbreak of being in person as I do not have a farm or the money to own a horse. I’m sorry that it didn’t work out with that sweetheart today. I think your attitude about it is something we can all learn from. If it’s meant to be it will happen. Look at all the auctions you had to go through to find Belle, and it was after that previous mare broke your heart by likely having DSLD.

I'm more of a quarter horse guy and the big boned stuff never really moved me but growing up in the Deep South we all rode ranch related horses and no one owned any kind of wagon. Seeing horses who have not been well tended or taken care of, like that pony with the bad hooves, is infuriating and that owner needs to be taken to task for such neglect.

    I don't know how you do auctions..they're so heartbreaking. You must really have to steel yourself for them. Kudos to you

    What a beautiful connection. Shea l also liked that horse as well. The Palomino was gorgeous. I am sorry you were not able to buy that one horse.

    I couldn’t even finish watching this video. It was just too sad. All of those horses deserve to live and have a beautiful life. The ones that need help I pray get rescued because they’re totally innocent.

    Very insightful. It's a fine line between making a connection and feeling like you want to save them all but I think your model of business is spot on!

    It’s not my intent to be rude. Know that I love your channel and you have lovely energy with the horses. Saying that, I’m trying to understand how you can buy horses and not keep them. My pony and my cousins lived into their 30s. They died at my aunts farm never leaving our family. When they got to small for us, the students enjoyed them. Then they went to pasture when they retired. We loved them always. Our hearts could never let go. Who knows how many hands they would pass thru if we ever did. Bad things happen to horses. They just don’t deserve that.

    Shae I totally get why you don't rescue. If it were me at that auction, I would have spent a small fortune for God knows what. They all seemed to be saying "pick me." I totally respect what you do and why you are doing it. Please just keep helping one horse at a time! God bless you dear!

    My goal in the past was to save as many as I could with hopes of rehoming eventually. I did it with my own money and no outside help. I was lucky to have the money. It was a tremendous joy, but also heartbreaking. God bless.

    When 5:33 hit, that horse was looking and sniffing at Shake in the MOST loving way I think I’ve EVER seen an auction horse interact with a stranger.
