Awesome looking GMC truck! I have 2 of those in my Johnny Lightning collection! One is a green troop carrier, and the other is a yellow fuel truck.

I read somewhere that they were painted yellow, because of the yellow in Yellow Coach.

The shift pattern was left side second foreword third back the middle forth back overdrive fifth forward and on the the right reverse forward and first back, the two levers on together right left lever is range low forward neutral and high all the way back the right lever to engage front wheel drive forward back to dis -engage .
Yes the toggle is to turn on the ignition no key like you said . On the ring mount if you flipped down the passengers seat back you can stand on the platform it makes to fire the machine gun downward fit ground targets and if you flip the seat back up and the seat bottom up a bracket will hold it in place you can then stand on the cab floor to fire the machine gun in an upward angle for anti aircraft. The winch you have is an after WW2 m series unit similar but different the original would have a lever to the left of the gear shift to operate the winch from the cab.
I believe the stabilizers and the bracket on the frame behind the bumper were for a gin pole lifting arrangement some one added after the war. Originally it was a six volt system , the large bloc under the hood is the voltage regulator . You’re missing the old bath air filter and the inner windshield assy.
The axle style on that truck is called the banjo the other style was called the split axle
