Really happy to see this. It's just what I need this morning! I'm still struggling with roses. Why? They look so innocent but I get tripped up by them :-) In my heart I really know that what is called for is just more practice.

Yes my roses are stiff and flat ...but I will keep trying and hopefully my strokes from 20 yrs ago will disappear 😊. Love the different coloured leaves ..and the negative painting...beautiful coloured roses 🌹 Thankyou David

Beautiful as always, would love to see you paint the pale pink roses that have green in them, I think they are called avalanche roses, they are so pretty, a pale green and pink rose. I know you would do them justice. 🌹

Quick question: My acrylics never get that same smooth & blended effect when I try to push the color around. I'm not sure what I'm doing differently that doesn't let it blend as well as yours without getting muddy or just looking like a big streak with hard edges? Is there any advice you could give me about that?
Supples: Golden & Blik acrylic paint, paper paint palette, synthetic brushes, no extender used (just water)

Not all acrylics are the same. I formulated the Heritage Acrylics to do this type of work. They dry a little slower and have a lot of pigment in them to keep them from getting muddy. Not all acrylics will be able to do this type of work. Thanks!
@@JansenArtEducation TY! I've heard a lot of recommendations for Heritage Acrylics. When I found your channel I didn't even realize they were your formula paints. 😁 I guess I'll need to start expanding my paints because I really like that effect (& I've always loved finger painting, too - lol).

What type board are you painting on?
I use MDF or hardboard. Sometimes tempered masonite. Here is a link on our website. jansenartstudio.com/index.php/supplies
Lots of hints, notes, and techniques, and seeing the result from all of this in itself is like an instruction book to use at any time.
