    I love that pond especially the way the owner isn't interested in show winning koi, have the fish you like not just because they are popular. Brilliant video and awesome pond, thankyou

    Ok this is a pond that dreams are made of!! Unreal, beautiful & must be so relaxing. I’ve just put koi in our teeny tiny pond (compared to that monster pond!) We’ve had goldfish for years & decided to be brave & add koi. Just small tosai to feed & watch. Thank you so much for the time & effort you put into your videos. If I ever win lotto, you’ll be coming to Norn Ireland to build me a pond like this!!

    Tim, you mention that if you had your way the pond would be filled with 'show quality' Koi. Have you done a video on what distinguishes 'show quality' koi to ordinary koi? If you have can you place a link. If you have not produced a video, it would be great for all of us who have an interest in the hobby to see what makes a top quality koi.

    • @TimWaddington
      @TimWaddington  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have thought about it but it’s too subjective to be honest. Maybe I can show the actual quality but people may still think they know better etc. I’ll have a think.

    • @Veterankoi
      @Veterankoi 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TimWaddington I think you will find that people will respect your view Tim. We all recognise that people will have different views on the same subject, especially when they are judging the quality of a fish. That roof is scary, hopefully there's some type of protection in case the lifts fail.

      @@TimWaddington i understand, but the ideal of a broken seal or leakage causing it to collapse is very scary.

    What if a pipe cracked in cold weather wouldn't it empty the pond water before they realised

      We use pressure pipe on all our jobs. It won’t crack.

    Too bad that pond does not flow into a beautiful yellow flag water iris marsh as that would clean better than mechanical filtration. Sedges are best for photosynthesis filtration. I have 5000 gallon pond and filtered though marsh and my water is always crystal clear. Nice pond but I feel it would look even more pretty with yellow flags blooming everywhere. Water lilies not the best cleaners

      Not massive. Around 90-120 watts per pump (5) and the UV’s are 90w each (5) and the air pumps are around 600w total. Around 1.5kw.
      Years ago a single pump was 1kw.
