A brand new original song centred around the moth pimp himself, Valentino, featuring originally created backing music, sound design, voice acted story and artwork.
Every good villain needs a song in the Hellaverse and Valentino is no exception. With the potential for this character to be one of the primary antagonistic forces in the show, I wanted to construct a song that would show the things he can tempt his workers and clients with while also making it clear that he expects obedience and respect in exchange. Framing it around upstaging his best star, just to prove a point that he is the one people want to associate with, seemed just so 'Val'.
To that end, in the wake of my last two original songs being more than a little emotionally charged, I wanted to make something fun, energetic and dripping with Val's ego. The result is something that is heavily rooted in my specialty of electronic music production, coupled with sound design to really give a sense of where Val is performing.
A lot of Val's vocals were recorded multiple times and processed to make it sound like he's speaking in multiple directions at once, truly getting under people's skin to get them "hooked". And the featured vocalist who he forces to take part in his little upstaging act should be no stranger to people who have listened to Val perform music on this channel before...
And lastly, all of my thanks and praise to the wonderful MaaTheDino for helping me with the artwork for this project. As someone who draws Val so perfectly in multiple other works, the art they provided really captured the setting, the ego and sense of threat that I was intending when making it. Literally all they had to do was make this guy a realistic pimp and he's the most hated character in the franchise. That's the scariest part about him, he isn't an exaggeration.
I would be scared if I saw an actor doing val.
I made a very similar comment not that long ago.
I love this show, it is an animated show bit holy shit some of the things in it are really hard to watch, especially the things that are more realistic like the relationship between Valentino and Angel.... =/ I get so upset when watching their scenes together sometimes.
What's worse is that the character of angel dust was based off of viv's personal experience. She was in a relationship like this, or at least that's what I heard somewhere

Yeah! The literal embodiment and King of Lust can feel love for someone, while Valentino, a mere Pimp, cannot. This goes to show that he is just an asshole with an overinflated ego

Val might call himself overlord of lust. But if anything, he's the overlord of addiction. Drugs, alcohol, sex, and with his relationship to Vox, he's muscling in on TV and internet. He wants all vices and addictions under him. Asmodeus is the real king of lust, and he has no drive for anything not lust. But Val wants everything that addicts people. He wants to be king of his own sin. Addiction.

D-Dude Lust isn't only sex... It's the addiction to the pleasures of the human body with an example being sex. So the addiction to drugs, alcohol, sex, and probably even straight up dopamine shots are all Lust. I see this mistake a lot when people try to impersonate Lust, they just think that Lust, is sex and that's it but in reality a demon that is Lust incarnate would more than likely be addicted to *EVERYTHING* that you can possibly be addicted to

Valentino is a perfect metaphor for addiction. People become addicted not over the thing itself, but the solution it provides, I.e. distraction from personal problems. If you attempt to get away from addiction, and assert control over it, it’ll hurt you. It’s funny that he’s a moth, as moths are characterized by going into electric shock traps because they cannot control their impulse to be with light, correlating with how addicts pursue their addiction regardless of the self destructive nature of it. Only by solving the problems that you’re trying to distract yourself from will get you away from addiction, as is the purpose of the hotel. I wonder what led Angel Dust to become an addict, and I wonder how Hazbin Hotel will provide the solution to it.

for what we know the addiction that Angel has comes from his human life represented in his name "Angel Dust" that is also a drug. What we should ask is: how he ended up with Valentino? and what's going to happen when Angel has to decide to stay in the Hotel or not, because he already said: "Angel is merchandise" and one of his best, he won't be willing to give up on him. Will Alastor fight Valentino or will do it Charlie, showing his desendant powers as she has? because that will be a really good display. We all know what Alastor and Valentino, are capable of... do we really knows Charlie?
He's someone from the 30s, and gays weren't wildly accepted let alone tolerated by then. Imagine his father and/or brother beating him for being a girly gay and turning to AD for solace.

This song screams, practically *oozes* Valentino. His influence, his personality, his attitude towards those below him. Even Angel, his best star. Val is the KING of his domain and he will "flaunt" it to make that clear. The beat was catchy, had me moving my body to the rhythm throughout. Val's lyrics are full of pride and lust, always knowing just what to say to get what he wants, to get people "hooked". Angel's lyrics, he "know this song". I'm willing to bet his part is the words Val spoke to him, to lure him in to making a deal and sell his soul. He's done this song and dance, and when he tries to make his position worth while, Val comes in and squanders it. Angel might be the best, but Val is the one who made him the best, and he will always be there to remind Angel of that.

The way Angel is telling his own experience through the reasoning of Valentino just shows how often Angel has heard those deprecating words pushed onto him. Even though this one was supposed to be more 'fun', it has s lot of story and DAMN what a beat. Also I love how the guards were watching Angel perform Show and Tell, a fun little nod to that cover. The way you write lyrics is a new talent of yours I increase to admire. Thanks for yet another piece of art! This is stunning!

I never really took notice the crowd's chants of 'Valentino' at 4:45, while Val is talking to Angel but ever since I did, it's been the only thing I could hear, it's so...it's so catchy and goes so well with the song.

The sound is exactly what a hook looks like, jagged, steely, abrasive, shiny, alluring but no disguising that hooks latch on to their prey and bat no eyelashes hurting what theirs.

Love the idea behind this. Got Angel thinking all is ok, that maybe Val hasn’t noticed the digs in his routines. But instead of something small like calling him to his office to beat him or something, you got this. Val upstaging Angel, and reminding him of his ‘place’ in Val’s world as merchandise. Valentino has more of a growl in your ear kind of voice, unlike Angels, whose kinda runs smoother with the music, but nicely done!

But I would like to see him grow into this version through a Pride Ring no longer threatened by extermination, and through a lot of the V's competition being wiped out.

I know Asmodeus is the Sin of Lust itself but...Valentino really does embellish that aspect for himself, his mortal experience dying and bringing his skills and exploitive content to hell really gives him an advantage over Asmodeus in Valentino's conquest.

One of the things I noticed is that he quit saying ‘Yes Val’ and that got me excited because Angel has always responded that way to Val whenever he’s around

Ever since the release of PDJ's cover of Do What U Want, I've been waiting to hear Valentino's singing voice again. At last, the wait is nearly over. This is gonna be good.
Since VivziePop has seen PARANOiD DJ's work and did a song with him, i really hope she considers making Val's voice like this interpretation.
Maybe it'l be his voice when he's going into full demon form, or its the result of some accident.
Well, the shows California doesn't sound or act like this. Which, I understand because he isn't the main antagonist for season 1.
But when he hits Angel-Dust and reminds him of the contact, he definitely gave off the vibe of PDJ's Valentino. Like I said, this voice can come from an accident that damages his vocal chords, or be his full demon/approaching full demon from voice.
The voice differences from this to the official series. Here it does sound seductive and gives off a good ambience. The official one is more smooth, and kinda does fit. I personally like both voices I legit can't decide which one fits better. But besides all that I'm adding this song to my fucking playlist right now
I feel vaguely slimy after listening to this. It feels like a strange mix-match with Kesha and Linkin Park (Points of Authority specifically), and I think that's oddly fitting.

i absolutely hate valentino but the way his voice sounds like it’s literally swirling all around you in a fog of smoke then the chorus comes in with Angel and his voice is nice and clear. Absolute gold and i have a newfound appreciation for this song.
