I would think that there's a better chance that a mentally sound person is a better manipulator than one who is a paranoid schizophrenic... I think they should have thrown him in jail and threw away the keys as he clearly is a danger to society

If you watch the full interview with him, I agree with you. He recorded the whole process and respected the desires of the other man.
They had to give him a harsh sentence to set the precedent that this is wrong and not ok, and not something the law will allow or tolerate. Otherwise, if they were lenient, I’m sure in our sick world there would be a spike in such activity or future cannibals claiming the defense that it was consensual

Research Katherine Knight. What she did was one of the most sickening things I have EVER heard of.... she expertly 'skinned' Price (his skin was in one intact piece; the remains of his body was 'placed' back inside it before burial). It would have taken her HOURS.
And to cook and plan to serve 'him' to his own children, complete with table setting place cards, is abhorrent.
