      OMG I wore a shirt that said it's okay if you think volleyball is boring, it's kind of a smart people sport anyway . And my friend said I'm smart and I think volleyball is boring, and then that day we watched an action packed volleyball game and I said "is this boring?!" And she rolled her eyes

    Just came back to watch this again. The legends are all here, love it. #10 KIM YEON KOUNG from Korea received the MVP for the 2012 London Olympics. She were team mates with Logan Tom and Harmotto in Fenerbahce and right now she plays with Jordan Larson in Eczacibasi. Top-notch players, always a delight to watch this game. Just kinda sad how Korea didn't get any medal, Kim deserves so much better.

      Honey Really?Sample College Admissions Essay 2
      Sometimes a task can seem monumental when you try to visualize the entire thing, but if you break it do wh into smaller goals suddenly it can become manageable. When I first started to consider going to college so that I could make a better life for myself and my daughter, I thought it was going to be almost impossible. I was working in a convenience store trying to make ends meet as a single mother, but I just knew that there was something more out there for me. I had the drive to build a career that did not involve running credit cards through the machine and cleaning the public bathroom, I just needed the skills and the opportunity to determine what that other dream job was. It can be difficult to leave what is familiar, and I actually really liked the people who owned the convenience store and knew that they would be sad to see me go, but it was time to strike out on my own. I set a goal of successfully finishing one semester at my local junior college, just to see if I could manage it, and much to my delight I not only completed the semester, but earned a place on the Dean’s List as well. I felt a tremendous amount of pride in this accomplishment, and it certainly wasn’t easy, but it helped to give me the confidence I needed to set longer term goals. I found that I was very interested in the sciences and how the human body works. I am now about to graduate with my Associate’s of Science degree, having maintained my position on the Dean’s List the entire time, and I finally know that I am setting the kind of example for my daughter that I always dreamed of when I was wringing out the mop and restocking the shelves at the convenience store.
      I am now eager to take my education to the next level by pursuing a degree in nursing at ____ University. It is my goal after graduating to become a nurse serving lower income and underrepresented communities. I am a naturally compassionate person, and because of my lower socio-economic background and life experience, I can relate easily to people who may fear going to see medical professionals whom they perceive as different from them, but whose services they need. I can help bridge that gap, and thereby encourage more people to actually get help that they require in a comforting and non-threatening environment.
      My commitment to my education is strong and I know that, if admitted, I will be able to earn a solid grade point average, and graduate with the skills and experience I will need to build my career as a nurse. I feel such relief and gratitude to know that I have found my calling, and I am eager to begin this new stage of my education. Certainly the next two years will be challenging-requiring much juggling of schedules and time management expertise--but I have done it before, and with my clear goal in my mind, I know I can do it again with equal or greater success. Even though my commitment to my education takes some time away from my child, I know that ultimately it will be worth the sacrifice because she will see how important an education is by witnessing all I have given up to achieve mine, and what a strong career I will be able to build because of those same sacrifices.

      It affects my day when you walk in with your turtle kneepads and long kneepads. You waste my time and everyone else's. You don't try to improve because you're too busy complaining about how horrible your life is, listening to your horrible punk rock bands, and watching anime. Everyone acts nice but the only reason you'd get any play time is because coaches pity you.

    • @idaponki
      @idaponki 9 ปีที่แล้ว +63

      +Mirabella Booth How is it annoying if this person became inspired to watch and play volleyball because they saw it in an anime? Just because they saw it in an anime means that they can't watch volleyball? I say good for them for finding something that they enjoy doing.
      How do you know they don't try to improve? You saying that emo's just complain about their life and listen to 'horrible' bands is a very big stereotype which isn't always true. And just because someone watches anime does not make them emo. Perhaps the coach actually lets them play because they are a valuable player that is good on court.

    Three things:
    1. It's so ridiculous how the networks have NO CLUE how to record volleyball. The cameras need to go behind the service line to watch the left-right shift as the attack develops.
    2. Does the announcer know ANYTHING about volleyball? 12:55 "oh, see how the ball just dies"... um, see how the gal got lazy and didn't watch the floater serve all the way into her arm.
    3. The South Korean gals are total babes. The 'merkins are too, but MAN.

    around 1:14:00 the second referee claims it was out, but usa still gets the point. then look at the score board; it says korea serves yet the us is serving. when korea gets the point us goes to 11 and korea magically skips point number 10. the olympics have flaws too.

    • @lollipoplove7073
      @lollipoplove7073 8 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      korea could have won if it wasn't for those mistakes

    • @jordanfry5138
      @jordanfry5138 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      ah yes, the three sets they lost were all because of two points. There's a difference between imperfect score keeping and match deciding flaws. The US was better, and they won as a result.

    • @rso6464
      @rso6464 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The points were correct if you were keeping track. Everything you pointed out was just the scoreboard not being updated after every point at that time. Likely a glitch. But if you actually keep track of the points as they should of been, the scoreboard corrected itself during the replays. Hence why it looked like the 10th point was skipped or US score went up after a Korea score. It was just updating.

    No wonders KYK is still the MVP of this whole event even if they are in the 4th place leading with the difference by 40 points with the final team players.

    I noticed a repeated pattern on the Korean team, they pass it to that one girl so she can spike it.

    The commentator keeps saying that there’s confusion in the defence when there is a mistake from the hitter, the setter or a miscommunication between the two. That’s offence, not defence.

    It's because they don't really know Korea as a team. It's like how I only know Messi in Real Madrid but I know pretty much every member of the Korean national soccer team. It's just how familiar you are with the team.
